Lots of cool accessories for sale.

I attended my first yoga class ever this past Sunday, and I was a huge fan. As a first timer, I did extensive research on the local yoga studios. This studio stood out to me, I liked the different types of classes they offered and I appreciated the detailed description of each class. My friend and I took the Beginners Gentle class on Sunday at 2pm. The instructor had a very relaxing vibe about her, and she described the poses as we transitioned. I found I was able to follow along without having to keep my eyes on her, she was very descriptive. She was sure to correct us if our pose was off, I appreciated this. I had no idea what I was doing, so being corrected will only help me grow as I take more classes. I'm not a very active person, I enjoy an occasional bike ride around my neighborhood but that's about it. I had no problem keeping up in the Beginners Gentle class, even though I did find a pose or two challenging I know it will become easier the more I practice. I felt great leaving class, I cant wait to take another! I found that the pricing for this studio is a great price compared to other studios I've looked into. Their drop in class rate is $7 and $2 mat rental if you pay in cash. If you pay with card, the drop in class rate is $8 and the mat rental is $4. I didn't have cash on me so I ended up paying $12 which is still a great price! They offer membership rates, which I will look into. I wasn't interested in paying for a membership on my first class, I wanted to make sure I liked it first. Another reason their low drop in rate is nice, try before you buy! They have items for sale when you first walk in. You can purchase a mat, towels, clothing, accessories and they even have a refrigerator with cold drinks. This is a beautiful and relaxing studio, I'll be sure to return!

I have been a part of Project 7 Yoga as both a teacher and a student throughout the years. I have been coming to P7Y for over 3 years now and I can say it is by far the prettiest, cleanest, friendliest and best priced studio in Orlando. They have both hot and cool yoga classes as well as ones that meet any yogis needs from basics to advanced and everything in between. One thing I really love is that all of the instructors are great and have their own teaching style which allows each class to be fresh, different and fun. In my years of practicing I've found that many studios have a particular teaching method which makes classes predictable and routine so I really enjoy the diversity of the teachers and techniques here. When you walk in the doors you enter into a quaint lobby that has plenty of little yoga essentials from oils to mats and clothing. All classes are only $7 (if you pay with a card there is an additional $1 charge). Also if you forget your yoga mat or don't have one yet they have premium quality rentals (manduka yoga mats) for $2 not those cheapy Pilates mats. The ambiance is fantastic here, like many other reviewers have said - it's like a spa. They diffuse essential oils throughout the studio which put you in a total zen mode. It's also VERY clean. The hard wood floors are always pristine and there's never a bad odor like you may find at many places that provide hot yoga classes. This studio and the awesome owners take pride in everything they do here and it shows. If you're looking for a yoga studio definitely give this place a try. I'm sure it'll become your new yoga home. My favorite classes/ recommendations : Flow & Stretch - combines the best of both worlds a vigorous flow for about half of the class and then the last half is spent doing juicy stretches and more relaxing postures. Hot Power - I love the heated classes here because this studio doesn't try to kill you with heat. I've been some places where the heat is blasted at 100+ degrees and you want to crawl away gasping for water. At P7Y classes are closer to high 80-90s so it's enough to make you sweat but not to scare you away. Restorative - ahhh one of my favorite classes when I need some serious stress relief. You get tons of fun props and do a lot of relaxing postures for long periods of time to help get you in a mediative state (if sitting still isn't your thing you may not love this class but could be something you benefit greatly from)

The cutest yoga place I've ever seen!!! This place is SO modern with a warm welcoming feel! I love the turtle out front and the real drift wood counter!!! I absolutely adored the instructor and the class was SO great! A friend and I took Yoga Basics for the first time at this studio. The front desk was welcoming and knowledgable and the instructor was encouraging and even requested input on what kinds of things people would like to do and focus on in the class! The meditation time was amazing! The instructor was sooo calming and was a great guide to the beginners who needed a little help focusing on relaxation and breathing! This location is awesome! The parking is adequate for the amount of people it needs to facilitate at any one given time. There is also the Hideaway Bar within walking distance for a quick after workout accomplishment drink ;) but fyi* they're cash only. Project 7: The prices are amazing, you absolutely cannot beat $7 a class! The quality of the service is outstanding! Couldn't ask for better! The ambiance and decor of the establishment is on par and more than perfect to set the mood for a good yoga sesh! The location is awesome and I will definitely be returning!

I discovered Project 7 back in 2013. I searched on Yelp for barre classes, and this spot caught my eye. I felt like I belonged there since the first class I took. Mary had a beautiful vision and a great business approach. When barre classes were no longer offered, I was hesitant to switch to yoga. Mary assured me there is no expected level, just show up and flow. I am glad I did! I went through some challenging times, Mary agreed to give me educators discount when I purchased my annual pass. I am so grateful you did that for me! Yoga became an important part of my life. The studio always brings new instructors and workshops that encourage your spritual and physical growth. Since 2013, the studio has undergone some changes, all positive, that attract people of all ages and backgrounds. I appreciate the diversity and accepting culture that is created here. I love the special packages offered as well as monthly challenges. Coming back after pregnancy and childbirth was just like reuniting with family. Big hugs, happy smiles. This is a perfect beautiful place in our neighborhood.

I was so excited to hear that Firefly Yoga would be coming back to Downtown Orlando. They used to have a studio next to The Sanctum, then opened their second studio in Ocoee, and eventually focussed solely on the Ocoee studio for a few years. When I heard they were returning, I was blown away by their new model. A passionate group of yoga instructors banded together to create The Collective, where they volunteer to teach classes. With this model, the money they collect goes straight to rental of the space (and tea, if they ever make more than they need to keep the studio open). This means that the prices are some of the lowest in Orlando. The drop-in rate is $8 (WUT.) and unlimited yoga is $60/month (will increase to $70/month for new members starting in June '19). This is absurdly low and only makes sense because this is less of a business and more of a passion project to bring Firefly back to Orlando. Right now, the schedule is as follows (taken from their website): MONDAY 10am all-levels Flow | 7pm all-levels Flow TUESDAY 6am Power | 6:30pm find a Firefly teacher at East End Market for an all-levels flow class that is donation-based WEDNESDAY 12pm all-levels Flow | 6:30pm Ashtanga-Inspired | 7:45pm YIN THURSDAY 5:30-7:30am Open Practice* | 4:30pm Ashtanga-Inspired | 6:30pm Ashtanga-Inspired FRIDAY 6:30pm all-levels Flow SATURDAY 11am Wild Card (teachers will rotate each week, so come for a surprise of personality and style!) I would always check their website because classes are occasionally canceled when COAL (the space within which Firefly is located) is booked for a special event. Parking is on-street and behind the building (plentiful), and the location is conveniently right across from Dandelion (TAKE ALL OF MY MONEYYYY). So excited to be a member and love the classes so far!

It was a really welcoming environment from right when I walked in. Lynn, our class instructor, showed me to the cubbies and explained everything after I got checked in. She was so kind to give me a heads up about the class format which was super nice to know. In the 90 minute class there's no music and it's all spoken instruction and timing through 26 movements (I think that was the number). It was a much different setup then any other yoga class I've been in so it was really nice to know that beforehand. The way Lynn instructed was very matter of fact- she knew the names of all the participants well, even myself as a first timer. Some may have taken it a wrong way when she calls your name to correct your form, but once you get used to it it was actually really nice. She paid close attention to everyone in the room even though it was full, to make sure everyone was getting the most out of it. I really appreciated the corrections as I still don't know a lot of the verbiage with yoga flow so I got lost at different points but Lynn always patiently pointed me to the correct direction. My class members were so supportive and even though 90 minutes in a hot room was so hard, it felt amazing after. They do have showers there as well so you can clean off right away after class. They offer the normal 60 minute hot yoga, hot pilates classes, and a few other things. It seems like a great community here that I'll definitely try to come back to even though I don't live in the Orlando area!

I've been going to Firefly Yoga for a few years now and had seen them through a move (three doors down in the same strip mall) and now to a change in ownership with a new name. It's not uncommon to be wary of this kind of change, especially if you are a regular and have become accustomed to a schedule and certain teachers. But, fear not! Having spoken to both the previous owner and the new owner, it seems this spot is in good hands for a smooth transition! Indeed, even Holly (previous owner who still has a studio in Ocoee) still teaches a few classes at PLA.Yoga! Even more impressive, PLA.Yoga is honoring class passes that folks had purchased and not finished using at Firefly. So much loving kindness and gratitude going on around this little studio! In fact, PLA.Yoga just celebrated their grand opening weekend, though they've been quietly open for a few weeks, and I've had the pleasure of taking some classes. Sign in was easy, either done online through their schedule on the website, or on an iPad when you arrive. The space is cozy with one medium sized room that lends itself beautifully to a yoga community. It is conveniently located two doors down from The Sanctum, so a quick smoothie or vegan bowl after class is almost a given. This means parking can sometimes get tight, but I've always found a spot and you can park on the street just off of Ferncreek if you have any trouble. In terms of classes, you'll still find evening bliss classes, as well as ashtanga, meditation, yin, and a little birdie (flier taped to their window) tells me they'll have some special occasion black light glow stick classes in the future! The true test for me with a studio is that there is a general sense of kindness, generosity, and a nonjudgmental community spirit. PLA.Yoga is fortunate to have this grandfathered in due to its predecessor, but the joy they bring looks like it'll include new and unique classes that will get us all smiling and doing sun salutations all the way into the evening!

It was great to finally meet Andi and mingle with other yelpers. My girlfriend even got to come too! The studio is cute and cozy. The owner was welcoming and friendly informing us of the check in perks -- each time you check in when you come you get to pick one of their cute stickers for free! Yay! So we got "lit" up with paint and glow in the dark tattoos before grabbing a mat. Our instructor for the evening was Mikaela, she is quite a powerhouse! She instructs the power yoga sessions. She came by before we started and asked if I wanted a block. I told her I had never used one and then she broke it down for me and the benefits of using one. So I kept it nearby just in case. The first thing we did was partner up with someone you don't know preferably (you have the option to not if you prefer). This was the first time I've down a "buddy yoga" system and I really enjoyed it! You certainly have to use your core and have trust in your partner. It was really rewarding though to be able to maneuver through it together! After that Mikaela took us into the power yoga. OH MY. Now I have taken yoga (even hot yoga) before at various locations but never had I had a class like this. It's almost like I was Goldie Locks trying to find the right bed, the previous studios weren't the best fit for me -- but this studio felt great! This class is no joke. I sweated and worked my a** off! When I started to feel tired and winded Mikaela would chime in with something positive to say which kept me going -- well at least to finish the class. Ugh, bouncing crescent lunges (I think that's what they are called?).... WOW, you hurt me SO good! Now I go to the gym fairly consistently and this class definitely worked my arms, my legs, my core -- my hamstrings and quads were screaming and I was like, oh hellllloooooo there! (Haha). But seriously, I would definitely recommend this studio. I didn't feel like I walked into a yoga studio where I felt like I needed to change to a vegan or raw diet, but I felt rejuvenated and in peace when I left. I very much look forward to coming back! (Parking is a bit limited in front but you can park on the street behind the studio)
