Project 29 on Route 29 - get it? After a long week, my coworkers and I decided to stop in and grab a brew or two. I had not been to this bar before, makes sense since it is pretty far off my normal path. They serve food but I didn't try any this visit. It was all about the beers. They had a very good tap list over 20 beers, including a really great canned selection under the taps - which I missed at first! The bartender worked with a smile, offering samples before you commit. You also get a small sized draft if you check in on untapped or facebook! The beers we around $7 a pint, and they offer flights for $10. They also have a great selection of wine! Stopped in for lunch the other day. Burger, onion rings, and a couple beers. Food was hot. Beer was cold. No complaints. The waitress (Lauren, maybe?) was great. She seated us quickly and was incredibly attentive. She's definitely an asset to the restaurant. Only complaint was that there was a creepy guy peeking in through the side window the whole time. He looks familiar, but I can't place where I've seen him before...definitely looks crooked and untrustworthy. Almost like a guy you never should elect as a governor. Haha Good food. Great service. I LOVE this place! It's such a cute little bar. The numerous choices of beers, eccentric bar decor and Adirondack style somehow remind me of the Northwest and upstate NY all at once. It's the best of both worlds I'm always longing for, with great food to boot! It's not often I get the same thing every time I go to a restaurant, but this ones an exception. Their wings are SO good! Crispy outside, tender inside, sauces perfectly. I'm not sure if the burger is so good because the meat is seasoned perfectly, the bun compliments it so well, or the toppings push it over the edge... but whatever it is, I keep coming back for more! It's one of the few places I think of going when I'm in the mood for a burger, and it never disappoints! Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is as well. My husband and I go here often. The food is usually spot on, the beer selection is extensive, and the service is great!

I won't go back EVER. I have tried many times to give them business, but enough is enough. 1- silverware seem not to be needed, I ordered a salad and nothing to eat it with and that was not the first time. The bartender would just look at you like she had a clue that most people eat with silverware. 2- Stopped in another day, ordered my drink. The bartender never asked if I wanted to see a menu. when I was getting up to leave she asked If I want to order now. WHAT your kidding right. There are much better places. read more

Hubby & I came here during our anniversary vacation in the Adirondacks. It's a great place to eat, the decor and food kind of reminds me of a cross between Bareburger and some hip vibe in Brooklyn. (For ex, The log cabin rustic interior and stack of Jenga blocks with handwritten messages on them) We ordered a burger and fries and asked the waitress if we could make adjustments and she and the kitchen complied with no problem. We also got the Fun Guy flatbread pizza (cute name!), salad boneless chicken bites, and best of all, the pretzel bites with beer infused cheese dipping sauce. All of the food we had was very good but hands-down the most amazing thing we had were those pretzel bites - So fresh, soft and tender..... These alone are worth returning for-! read more

Stopped here while passing through Broadalbin, what a gem! Staff was super friendly and the food was excellent! Multiple beers on tap, something for everyone. I had the portobello sandwich and hubs had the notty cristo, so freaking good! Fast wait time for the food, but we didn't feel rushed at all. First thing is first. Sat down at the table, rested my arm on it, and I now no longer have have hair on it. The table was so sticky it could have doubled for an excellent body wax device. Second. I ordered a soda, and it was warm soda with ice in it that tasted flat. Third. I ordered boneless wings for an appetizer. They literally were chicken nuggets with sauce. The insides were that processed chicken meat you would expect from a fast food place. Forth. I ordered the beef melt. The meat was OK, it would be better if it had literally ANY seasoning. The bread looked like the cheap sub bread you can get from the store and tasted plain and dry. The fries were ok. I'm looking through all of these 4 and 5 star reviews that say the food is amazing... yeah they must have been REALLY drunk while eating because nothing was fresh. It all tasted like cheap, frozen packaged crap that was heated up and sent out. I guess if you only go here for the beer, that's great! I've been to many a bar and pub that had a great selection of beers while still having good quality food. I expect this quality of food from crappy fast food places, not a sit down bar and restaurant. It was a very disappointing experience. I will say, the decor was probably the best part. Updating because it's been almost 3 years since my first review, and I've probably been back a dozen times - including 2-3 times in July 2018 alone, when it was way too hot to cook - and it never disappoints. Beer selection is always great, service is fast even when they're busy, and I've really enjoyed trying new things off the menu. I often try one of the specials but I recently had their chicken taco pizza and have been trying to find something similar in Boston ever since. I loved Project 29 in its earlier days. The bands were excellent, the beer selection was extensive, and they had (and still have!) some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. However, the place seems to be falling behind in the very trend they helped create in the area. Other places have opened with tons of beer offerings, beer flights, food, and entertainment. And I'm sad to say that they do it better. My favorite bartender left because of disagreements with ownership and the replacements lack attention to basic detail, such as how to properly pour a beer or be able to provide a one sentence description of a beer on offer. The quality of the bands has decreased significantly and as one might expect, the place is now usually 75% empty. The food continues to be very tasty but the menu never changes and the choices have become stale. What used to be a 'must go' when I'm in the area has turned into a 'should I give it another chance'. I will give the place its due though--the beers are usually very good and the bar is large enough to come with a few friends. read more

An amazing craft beer selection with a gastro pub menu to make even the most finicky foodie squeal with delight! Flavor fusions are bold and creative.. waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable about their draught beer selections. Project 29 is a bit off the beaten path... but definitely worth a detour. We went here for dinner last night. The wait staff were very friendly and there was an acoustic guitarist was playing as well. The bar looks like it has a nice atmosphere. There was a decent list of beer on draught as well as a good bottle list. The food was pretty good. We got the pub bread and just wished there was a little more bread with it. We chose to keep the beer cheese for our French fries and it was an excellent idea. read more

We really like this restaurant! I have eaten here 6 times. The Staff is friendly, the menu has some really great items (corned beef sandwich and turkey Rachel are so yummy), the portions are large and the food is great. The service is normally very good. I am surprised this place isn't busier - maybe its the location but it is right on Route 29 and certainly worth a drive - its located right across the road from the Drive-In Movie theatre so you can make a night of it! read more

I've been to P29 three times already and I decided finally to review the place after I found the consistency of good quality, service and atmosphere. P29 serve 20 NYS beers on tabs and 9 in bottles and is located on Rt.29 hence the name! The owner is always present who also is a cook himself that's why we were always satisfied and so appears to be everyone else in here. The menu a bar like, but the taste of the food is way better than an average bar! I so far tried over 7 different menu items: chicken wings (large and jucy), p29 grilled chicken (YUM) and the buns are just epically appealing, Mushroom and Swiss burger (as greasy -in a good way- as you wish it), fish tacos (they're different taste), mushroom portobello (delicious), bar fries (eat them hut with their garlicky yummy sauce that I am hooked to) ... The atmosphere is welcoming, it is suitable for friends hangout, dates, parties, or family dinner. The prices are reasonable and the portions are satisfying! read more

The only reason we went here is because of the wide selection of craft beers. The Ruben had no cheese, and with coleslaw? and no Russian dressing or thousand island dressing really?? Surprisingly sophisticated roadside joint with a rich selection of eats and beers. I ordered a hearty shroom-and-swiss burger that was perfectly seasoned and boasted the right balance of fat to lean meat. The refreshing side of pasta salad was a nice counterbalance to the sandwich. My GF couldn't finish her nicely fried order of garlic and romano cheese wings, which were cooked to near perfection. The dining room isn't overly large but was charmingly decorated.
