Never knew this place had existed and saw that they had a weird looking entrance. First I thought we were in the wrong place. There is a secret door in the bookcase that takes you back in the restaurant and you can see the live band. Servers were so on the ball, the menu was very weird and stuff listed that you would think wouldn't go well together. My buddy and I were brave and wanted to try that interesting stuff regardless. From start until finish the food was amazing! Service was so attentive that 5 minutes didn't go by where they didn't come and check on us. My only complaint was sometimes the live music was a bit too loud and couldn't have a conversation. For sure will return! read more

A unique, themed experience with decent food; friendly service and neat atmosphere. My only disappointment (mild) was the cocktail. I had the Sazerac ($10) which I felt was overpriced for the quantity (about three sips worth). I suppose that may be standard but it seemed small for the price and appeared to be less than a shots-worth. Otherwise; it was a very nice cocktail. I had the Cuban sandwich which was good; and a moderate-sized portion (which was fine for my hunger level) with a side of sweet potato fries, which were tasty. My coworkers and I were looking for something unique and we found it at a speak easy in Salt Lake City. Prohibition has a fun atmosphere with a variety of specialty cocktails and dinner choices. I saw this place on RHSLC & had to check it out. Such a cool vibe and the cocktails are amazing. The service each time has been great & the food is yummy as well. We tried the Lollipop Gams (my favorite), Queso, Chicken & Biscuits, New England Clam Chowder (delicious!!!) and the Dapper Dipper Rolls. So good! My last visit was very good. I ordered the salmon with risotto, never having tried risotto from a restaurant. It was delicious! The buttery goodness was on another level! The salmon was also cooked to perfection, but the risotto was definitely the star of the show. We ordered a few appetizers as well, all were pretty good. Solid cocktail menu - expensive but the mixologists do a great job with alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks...that said, the wine selection is sadly basic. Servers will rush your weekend dinner service, so be prepared to eat drink and fast. It doesn't matter how much you plan to spend - your time limit is firm. Visually, this place is what you'd expect from a place named prohibition. Patrons were dressed casual to special occasion. Unfortunately the people who wear t-shirts bring down the "special" so unless the management creates a dress code, this place will become no nicer than Johnny Rockets. The burlesque was a lively experience (only saw cleavage and booty cheeks). Firm No touch policy which is part of the intro speech. $10 will get you 25min and 5 tight acts. The madame said no performance is the same, that new acts are incorporated frequently. This show and restaurant is VERY queer friendly. Very. If that makes you at all uncomfortable, do not come bc it seems like they aim to make this a safe space for patrons who are a part of and support the lgbtqia+ community. read more

We went to Prohibition to see a performer named Amanda Frisby She's an amazing singer and she did a fabulous job! This restaurant is unique in its decor and theme. The food was very delicious and, since my husband and I don't drink alcohol, it was nice that they had so many fancy nonalcoholic drinks as well. This is a cool bar to grab some food! I've had a lot of their foods and would recommend their: Tommy Tacos--pretty good! Lamb Chops-- probably best thing on the menu but it only comes with 3 chops so small in portion. Chicken Wings-- great presentation. The taste is more sweet that hot but overall had good amount of meat on it and looked cool. Came here to meet a friend, and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and really took care of us. The decor we fell in love with instantly! Food: we had the Poutine with Pork which was amazing! I would definitely order this again! We then got the chicken artichoke pasta. It had so much flavor and nothing I had ever had before. I remember when this was the bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays when it was known as the HUKA BAR! Driving into the parking lot of the bar brought back a lot of old fun memories. I honestly didn't know it was changed to the Prohibition until I watched the Real Housewives of SLC and saw the ladies partying there on one of their episodes and I was like that's the old HUKA BAR! With all the positive yelp revies I knew I had to check out this spot. I asked a question on the yelp page about the different events. The mgr./owner responded quickly to my question with a link to their website. The website had Blues night on Tuesday night. We made reservations for 6:45 P.M. since the Blues show was starting at 7:00 P.M. Once we arrived, we noticed the parking lot was packed. When you enter the bar, be prepared to shoe your IDs since this is a bar and not a restaurant. There was no entry fee, and we were shown to our table. It was a packed house. The decor was amazing. I loved the low light setting being dim and low that made the setting more intimate with my lady. The Blues Band consisted of 5 people. The main singer played the harmonica and sung, and he was pretty good. I loved how he would walk around the crowd and play for the patrons throughout the audience. The band even had the trumpet player following him and playing solos in the crowd. It reminded me of sitting back home, listening to some Jazz Music at a bar in New Orleans. Now it was time to place our orders. First, just to inform everyone, the food is a Lil expensive as well as the drinks. The prices had me feeling like I was in Vegas. The only thing missing were the slot machines. For our appetizer we ordered the Lollipop Gams, which is lollipop chicken wings and house buffalo sauce, and they were so goooooood. They were tasty and very juicy. We felt it should be more than 7 lollipops for the price, but I still enjoyed every bite. We did paper, rock, and sissors fo the last lollipop. For our entrees, my lady ordered the Beast Burger which consists of Elk, Bison, Wagyu Beef, Wild Boar, smoked pork belly, habanero aioli, smoked white cheddar, tomato, and fried onion strings that was served with Cajun Prohibition Fries. I ordered the Artichoke Chicken Pasta, which is made up of GRILLED CHICKEN Breast, #YESCHICKENAGAIN# artichoke white wine sauce, fettuccine pasta, artichoke pieces, red bell pepper, and lemon. The food came out fast and I have the say the first impression had my stomach biting me like FEED ME! The food did look good but once we tasted it, it was another story. The Beast Burger, my lady did not like her burger, but she ordered it before looking at what comes on the burger, and she didn't like the taste of it. The fries were on point, and she did eat most of them with my help of course! The chicken pasta was ok. It could have used more chicken of course to even the amount of pasta. My lady says next time she is going to read the menu and ingredients of the dish or just get two orders of Lollypop Gems! The table setting and the atmosphere was very enjoyable and soothing. Bottom line I will be returning and the next time I go, I will be checking out the jazz night on Wednesday night and if it's anything like Blues Night, you in for a treat because it was overall a lovely evening. read more

Utah is constantly amazing me with every new adventure I take. Did I think in a million years I'd find a Burlesque show with equally dramatic cocktails here? Absolutely not. Our experience was fantastic overall. My only regret was that we had already eaten, so we didn't try their food, but I highly encourage everyone to try one of their adult beverages. The presentation was unbelievable. Service was on point as well. Despite how busy they were (keeping the pandemic in mind), our server was always there to make sure we weren't running on empty. For the performances, they do want reservations, but they have multiple iterations per day, so getting in isn't difficult. read more

I am going to give Prohibition 4 stars as the night we were there the service was horrible. I mean horrible. Let's start the review there. We were seated promptly but it took about 10 minutes before a server came by. It was 5:20 pm and not at all busy. We soon got menus and ordered drinks. It took about 10 minutes or more to get them so we ordered our food right then as we had concert tickets for 7:30. I ordered onion soup appetizer and the berry salad with chicken, my wife the short rib sliders. Our friends got a green salad with steak and chicken sliders. 20 minutes later the chicken sliders come solo as the first item. 10 minutes later I get my salad but not my appetizer soup. 5 minutes after polling the server the steak salad comes. Five more minutes later, at least...my soup arrives. There is no sign of my wife short rib sliders. I had to "arm wave" for our server to get her to come by. I asked where the short rib sliders were. After checking she replies the kitchen missed the ticket and they would be right out. The rest of us were done with dinner. After five minutes I asked the server where the sliders were as we had concert tickets and it was not 6:40 pm. One hour and twenty minutes since we were sat. Her reply was "would you like them to go or taken off the tab?" Ridiculous. Finally the sliders come and we wisely ask for the tab also. It's now 7 pm. The service....horrible. Now, the food. It's fairly good. We all agreed each item was reasonably priced and pretty tasty. Thursday is $4.00 pint night. Our tab with two cocktails each was $55 per couple. Cheap by Park City standards we are used to. The cocktails are very unique but the pour sure says Utah when it comes to alcohol The entrance is an antique shop where the book shelves open to reveal a speak easy decor restaurant and very small bar with the servers dressed in sexy revealing era outfits. Very cool! We all agreed this place has potential but is sorely lacking in service, attentive staff and communication between the kitchen and the floor. We will repeat but if service isn't addressed it will be our last visit. Prohibition Get with it! read more
