Absolutely horrendous service. I booked a 7:30 appt for a Gel X full set and polish, wanting to get my nails done before an outing with friends. I showed up on time to my appointment to confused faces, saying they didn't realize they had a 7:30. All good, no problem.
They had to call someone in to do my nails, so I had to wait a little longer. No problem.
The lady who did my nails did an absolutely awful job. Didn't cut my cuticles, didn't put any nail oil on, nothing. As she was putting the nails on, she did not clean the extra gel from under my nails, so they were thick and stuck to my fingers. Whatever, not the worst thing in the world. I showed her the design I wanted (first photo) and she said it would be an additional $50 for it. A little pricey, but that's fine.
As she started to paint my nails, it started off alright. The first few nails were easy enough for her I guess. But as we went on, it became less and less what I wanted, but I'm not the "nail professional", so I just trusted the process.
HALFWAY through the nails, she stopped and told me I had to get up and pay for my nails. I should have had a warning bell go off at that time, as there was another lady in the salon who paid AFTER her nails were done, but I don't often get my nails done so I didn't think much of it and paid, tipping her 20% for a total of $124.
After I say back down, it went all the way downhill. She completely fucked up the rest of the design, not at all following it. She used the wrong colors, which I had to correct multiple times. She wanted to use a neon yellow for the sun, and I had to tell her that color was not what I wanted. That bright red color she used, I told her wasn't the right shade, and that it should be a more pink/purple red. She assured me it was the same color (obviously it was not). Her lines were crooked and sloppy, but by that point it was too late to do anything as she had already made me pay.
I tried so hard to be positive and see the bright side of it, but the nails were hideous and I just wanted to go home after. I could not look at my hands on the drive home they were so ugly. It looked like something a five year old could have done, and certainly was not worth $124. The store closed after I left, and she did my nails in under an hour, leading me to believe she rushed them to go home.
I would have rather the store tell me to come back the next day, or for her to tell me she was not confident in the design so I could pick something else, not royally fuck up my nails so badly I wanted to cry (I did cry).
I was able to get them redone at another salon (Desert Beauty Lab ) and they're so pretty! It was the same price to get my nails done there. The last picture is the one from the other salon.
We went in to try and get a refund, because it was an entirely awful experience and they messed up my nails so badly, and after having us jump through hoops to send them before pictures of my nails that the lady messed up, the after from after they were fixed, and the receipt from the other salon, only to tell us that they "don't do refunds". I understand that in normal circumstances, but that policy is under the assumption that the service is delivered PROPERLY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Steer clear of this place, or at the very least be careful of which nail artist you get. I am completely disappointed, and will be spreading the word to avoid this nail salon. read more
