Stay away from this moving company!!! We have gone thru 15 total moves to 8 different states. including oaxking, loading, storage and delivery. Of those, our first 14 only had 1 damage claim for 1 piece of furniture. With this one, we had over 35 line items of damaged and destroyed furniture and household belongings. some of the items are irreplaceable, since they were custom made and impossible to find new ones. I spoke to the owner who promised to get back to me with what happened during this move and also to tell me about an action plan to prevent this type of devastation ever happening again. he reneged on his promise to do a follow up call. These folks don't know anything about moving hot tubs in a backyard!! I purchased a new hot tub online well not sure but think the seller must have been desperate or didn't bother doing their homework on this company's skills or experience handling hot tubs. Everyone on the crew looked like it was their first time doing it,they scared the heck out of me several times getting it where I wanted placed in my backyard. They didn't have specialized equipment either I know this because when I moved my old tub a few years back I used a company that only moves hot tubs they made it look easy with their equipment and experience so my point is don't trust your hot tub in these guys hands read more

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. I have moved many times in the past and am still dealing with the aftermath 16 months later. They damaged or lost or destroyed 94 items, including "high value items" of furniture and antiques that cannot be replaced. On the delivery, I had clearly marked the boxes with the name of the room. The movers completely ignored the stickers on the boxes that matched the stickers on the door frames. The movers put boxes marked with "Fragile" on all sides on the bottoms of stacks of heavy boxes. The dropped more than one item/box while unloading. They were late to load and late to unload. They finished loading at 2 a.m. They finished unloading at 1 a.m. The packers of my dining room and kitchen were a joke. I specifically pointed out a cabinet of antiques saying to pack them well and carefully. In two boxes, broken antiques were on the very bottom of a box with very little padding. When I think of this move, I still get sick to my stomach. Their insurance company is in cahoots with the adjuster who said they also did the repairs. I had to appeal the claim and got very little satisfaction on the appeal. The adjuster/repair company did not return my emails or call. These movers should not be in business. I am using a local company to repair 34 furniture items which will entail a lot of work on my part as the furniture is so badly damaged that it will have to be moved to the repair shop and returned. I brought a massage chair through Costco. This company handled the shipping. The chair arrived in Richmond two week ago. From Richmond to Powhatan, less than 20 miles. Haven't got my chair yet. This is simply the worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire 55 years on this planet they were supposed deliver a bed simply a bed just the bed no problem they have given us excuse after excuse after excuse they were supposed to call 30 minutes away they gave us a four hour timeframe a day after they were originally supposed to deliver the bed they never called and then claimed that there was 3 inches of snow on the roads between Richmond and Virginia Beach well let me tell you I know how to look at traffic cameras and I looked at the traffic cameras and the roads between Richmond and Virginia Beach were completely clear if they weren't going to deliver it all they have to do is pick up the phone and give us a courtesy call to say they were going to deliver it but apparently that's too much for this company I left them scathing reviews on their Facebook page and nothing is their problem they're trying to blame the contractor which is MXT out of Ohio when they in fact are the subcontractor and they have our bed and they are the ones that are responsible for delivering it but no I would rather have Fred Sanford and his son in a broken down pick up truck and my bed tied up with twine then have these you know blanket he blank's deliver anything to me I'm even afraid of what it's gonna look like by the time he gets here if it ever gets here we will be talking to them in court read more

So these guys were hired to a defense department move for me. As part of their contract they were supposed to do the 2nd part of my move... to warehouse and deliver my household goods to my new location... As part of that they did part to a storage garage and part to an apartment. The apartment portion was a nightmare. When I scheduled the delivery I explicitly told them to load the boxes first and furniture last so that we could situate the furniture and they bring the boxes in... They did the exact opposite! First they insisted on going into a different entrance to the building making the distance they needed to move everything further then they got QUITE ANGRY with me when I insisted they unload the truck to bring the furniture in first like I told them to. It was my job to tell them where things were going and to mark off the inventory sheet with the boxes... hard for a single person to do but I tried my best... it was 4 guys unloading so needless to say I got buried quick. Anyway we finally got everything they had in the apartment after extensive complaining about the elevator... Not sure how that was my problem! Anyway the next delivery ran into a similar issue... they loaded the big stuff first so that meant unload everything to get to the items that needed to go in the back... The first unloaded had me missing 30 boxes so we needed to unload everything in the garage and SLOW DOWN to make sure I got everything... in the end we were still missing a handful. When I went back to the apartment and looked at the furniture, I noticed that just about EVERY PIECE OF FURNITURE THEY DELIVERED was damaged... some to the point they needed to be tossed. A $2,000 dining room set... was chipped, scratched and dented INCLUDING THE TABLE TOP. Sofa legs were all chewed up from how it was placed on the dolly and dragged on the concrete. the list goes on.. By the time I got through the apartment inventory sheet.... more missing boxes. In the end a large check was cut by north american and over a dozen boxes were never located... My furniture was badly banged up and I had a lot of headaches from dealing with these guys.... I will be upfront and say that another mover did the initial packing/delivery to Professional Mover's warehouse ... So I'm sure both sides share the blame on everything.... I personally will never use ANY North American mover after this experience as both movers were NA contractors. Sad when the Govt goes cheap on Defense Department movers... the guys that keep our troops safe and well supplied! Not sure where those 5 stars come from... Do. Not. Use. I continually tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they failed time and time again. Moving coordinator sent me the wrong paperwork multiple times, couldn't get anything right. In the packing process I literally had to follow them around to ensure they packed everything before they left, and they dropped a couple of items (sentimental bell from a wedding, and s hooks for a bakers rack) in the street. Delivery time, out of the three guys that got paid for the 9+ hours of "work" 2 of them stood on the street to make sure they didn't get parking tickets. Left my stuff in the street, lost/broke BOTH of my beds (among other stuff) and when I filed a claim, oh too bad we won't reimburse you because you fixed the bed on your own (where was I supposed to sleep??). I paid extra for the "good" insurance and this move was completely stressful and cost me almost $1000 extra. Oh but they "really tried to satisfy me" they offered me $200 and clips that wouldn't work for the curio cabinet that they broke, but some dude at thier office said it'd be okay. read more

THIS COMPANY CAME THROUGH FOR ME!!!I would give them 10 stars if I could. This moving company is what every moving company should be and I would recommend to anyone and everyone! I recently moved from Virginia to Idaho, by myself with a cat. I had originally paid and scheduled my move with a different (scam) moving company. When moving day came the scam company never showed, but they took my $600. I won't go into all of the details, but I can say that Kathy at Professional Moving & Storage LITERALLY SAVED ME from a breakdown. You see, it was now the end of July, (height of moving season) and I was sitting in a house full of boxes. My cable, phones, etc. was turned off and I didn't have a mover!!! I was a wreck, as I had scheduled my move at the beginning of July, needing to be in Idaho by July 31. Kathy worked tiredly, literally staying late, just to help me find a mover. After many phone calls and tears shed, she was able to secure Allied Van Lines to be at my house within days! They arrived July 24 and met me in Idaho Saturday, July 29. I saw that big orange truck pull in to my townhouse subdivision and I started to cry! Yes, this company literally saved me in so many ways. I was anxious, nervous, and hopeful all at the same time as I had just been scammed and was pretty much at the mercy of anyone who could help move me at this point. However, Gerome and his crew were so professional, understanding, and even compassionate about my circumstance. They inventoried every box and each piece of furniture prior to loading it onto the truck. They even double packed, with their own supplies, the bulky, awkward things; car seat, rocking chair and grandfather clock! I was amazed and surprised at the steady pace they had. It was as if they were all in sync and this was second nature. Also, Gerome kept in contact with me throughout the route, giving me updates daily. They followed through with every single thing they said they would do!!! Pretty spectacular for any company. The move was seamless and smooth. I can't thank them enough for moving me across country. THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.. they don't even deserve one star! I ordered a bedroom set from Sams club online in March 17, 2017.Not a cheap bedroom set either. Sams Club uses MXD delivery service which then uses Professional Moving and Storage (nothing professional about them!) The bedroom set finally came A MONTH and 2 days later after making several calls asking for the whereabouts of my furniture. The dresser came damaged, a big chunk missing on the side, so I told them I wanted a new dresser. They took the damaged one with them. I called SamsClub.com and they refunded me for the dresser and told me I had to order a new one since they took the damaged one with them..So I did. I waited for the money to be refunded back into my account and reordered the dresser on April 24,2017. After about three weeks of not seeing anything happening on the tracking, I called the MXD company, which then gave me the number to Professional Moving and storage. I left several messages with no return calls. So I called SamsClub .com to get some type of information as to where my furniture was. After making several calls and having several promises made that a supervisor would call me back(which they never did) I finally heard from professional moving and storage.. they set up an appointment with me and it was during the week with a four hour window so I had to take off work. Well, that day came and went with no one showing up or calling me to tell me they weren't coming!! I immediately called Professional Moving and storage and got an answering machine... long story short lol this happened THREE MORE TIMES!!!! I took off work to be here for those appointments and no one had the decency to call me!! A man named James from Professional Moving and storage called me on Thursday and told me he would have my dresser to me on Monday if he had to put it in his own personal vehicle to get it here! Funny... he NEVER SHOWED UP!!!After MANY complaints to SAMS CLUB Professional Moving and storage made the last appointment with a four hour window on Saturday June10th 2017, they said they would be here between 5-9 pm. They came at 8:30pm with a DAMAGED dresser that was clearly a return. It was wrapped in a Moving blanket with plastic around it. There were many dents and scratches and wood missing. The back where the mirror goes had screws missing and cracks in the wood. Highly disappointed!!! The movers told me to take pictures of it and call sams club and that is exactly what I did. So you may ask why I didn't just return it? Well, the dresser goes with the set I purchased back in March... and I DO NOT EVER WANT TO DEAL WITH PROFESSIONAL MOVING AND STORAGE AGAIN!!! This team did such a good job from start to finish I have nothing but praise to give. My survey was thorough and on time, they took great care to pack my items and though it was a short notice move the Manager worked it out so my items could be delivered on the day I requested. I used this company after relocating from Chterfield to Portsmouth VA. My items were in storage. I just had a new baby and my husband broke his shoulder blade. I was in need of help. I made one phone call and this company assured me they could take care of it. I sent the the key and information to my storage in Chesterfld and they pack and delivered everything. Not only did the deliver to my new home they setup everything and made sure it was working/running correctly for me. They made sure each box was in the correct rooms so we didn't have to do any lifting. They also offer to help do some unpacking but I felt they had done more than enough but the generosity was more than expected. If you plan on using this company you would be better off ripping the carpet out of the largest room in your house piling all of your furniture on it and dragging it down the street. If you plan on them delivering something from say Sam's Club you might as well go to Sam's Club 50 times with a basket and put your purchase in the basket piece by piece and bring it home because it will arrive at your home quicker then if you even try to discuss it with this company. We purchased a bed from Sam's Club who was supposed to be delivered by mxd out of Ohio who then contracted with and I won't even use the word professional I will say this group from Richmond who has the worst customer service including commensurate Liars on the other end of the phone with regards to getting information about where your product is. If you could choose any other company in the world you would be better off then trying to use this company. They explained to us that our delivery would be here between 2 and 6 they never called they never showed up and when we reached out to them they said they had three inches of snow in Richmond. Now I'm no meteorologist but I know what snow looks like and I looked at the weather in Richmond and I looked at the traffic cameras and there wasn't so much as a piece of white styrofoam on the road that could have confuse them that they might have had snow. Worst company I have dealt with stay away will be dealing with the company out of Ohio and Sam's Club to try to get our delivery correct.
