When you have go all the way to the top of the corporate chain and still absolutely no resolution a one star is the only option. I trusted the professional part of management and that was my error. The lack of guidance to educate board members is exhausting. Since PCM seems to not be able to facilitate a productive internal dispute resolution costs for legal counsel are now required. Getting minutes even draft minutes is impossible. Getting a microphone to hear zoom conversations of onsite members at meetings impossible. Getting transparent commutations impossible. Getting monthly financials impossible. Getting common area repairs done impossible. Getting user friendly changes to TownSq app impossible. Living in a hostile environment under dangerous health and safety conditions is possible with PCM. read more

****Update****! My review hasn't changed but the update is the light in the stairwell finally got replaced after reporting it since last year before the post in July and the dumped concrete is there there. I noticed that the PCM will reply to the reviews here to give the illusion of concern and want to help but it's a bait and switch. When I replied to their post it isn't public, it goes directly to them. I also emailed to same given email and guess what? No one bothered to call or reply so their replies mean nothing here. Taking months to replace light outages is a safety hazard and unacceptable for such a basic request. Currently this company has sent out a vendor to tear up the neighbor's port across the way and it's been unfinished with a board covering the opening since May and there's a child and an elderly person on each side that lives there! My service company, is vendor to many many property management companies, this has been the least responsive. Multiple phone calls to multiple people who are overseeing an account we have serviced for 10 years and we cannot get a response. We have serviced homeowners associations all throughout the southern California area and have amazing relationships with many companies, many boards, and mini property managers. What an absolutely horrible company - neither professional nor much of management. I just discovered the Yelp reviews of other dissatisfied customers, so obviously I'm not the only one complaining. Ignoring our problem of a damaged skylight, stalling, smoke-and-mirrors, one line responses to questions without resolution. This issue has been dragging on for a year and a half, and work got only scheduled after my husband and I showed up in person to complain and extract an answer. The bigger and more urgent issue of a gas leak took a ton of back-and-forth emails with no satisfactory direction, and in the end we had to drive to the the company's office in Signal Hill to finally get some answers. Ms. Mark has been a nightmare to work with - what an attitude - and Mr. Stimmler just ignores complaints. Why is this company even in business? Doesn't the HOA know? Had PC Management company for two years approximately. Had three different managers. The first and the last one were very good and were knowledgeable. But the second manager did a lot of harm to our community and was not reachable and "dragged their feet" to get things done. Unfortunately I found the upper Management to be very unhelpful. Sounded good but didn't get things done or assist the Board either. Their pricing is very high. Would not recommend hiring PCM. read more

Absolutely horrible! I don't even know where to start with explaining how awful Associa is. They are completely incompetent, unhelpful, unresponsive and when they do respond, they are utterly useless. We have had a revolving door of property managers and out of the laundry list of people they probably had 3.5 brain cells combined. They seem to be in a constant state of chaos and disorganization. Property mismanagement is more accurate. Avoid working with them at all costs unless you enjoy frequent headaches, high blood pressure and high stress levels. Literally have approval from previous HOA board to do work on my unit. This company also received the scope of work. All I needed them to do was open a door to get access to the roof. Chad Buffington lied in an email stating he came by the unit and observed several modifications being done. This is day 2 of holding up the City of Los Angeles from completing their noise ordinance work, he literally said he's fine with a lawsuit, well he is getting one. read more

My neighbor was doing a kitchen remodel above my unit and a flood of water started into my kitchen and living room. I contacted Anthony our office manager and he immediately took action. He saved me from hundreds of dollars worth of repairs and helped me negotiate with the water leak. I have called their office for the last two days now. I've been on hold all the time, only for the system to tell me they are having technical difficulties. Right? i tried different times of day thinking they are probably at lunch. I sent an email with no response just yet. I thought I'd give it another try today, but the same. On hold for 15 minutes so I figured, I'd just hang up and seek my neighbor's help instead. You would think this company will help you as payments are made on time, etc... but they are the last one to do so. They could care less about helping, but they want your pmt on time. The last time we had a problem, it took four months to get a resolution. Had to send proofs and pics twice because the first sending was just ignored and they even gave false information to cover up what appears to be a missed email. The first email was acknowledge, then said, we didn't receive it, then I resent then finally acknowledged? This is our first Association as a homeowner, and wasn't expecting much, but I at least expect someone to answer a phone call or an email. We love our home, but aren't too impressed with the Association associated with our home. So disappointing :( read more

Our property manager is Carrie. Piss poor service at best. This management company has managed to not pay our trash service twice and didn't pay our phone bill for our call box once. Carrie is suppose to walk our property every month doesn't do that. When vendors come to our building they can't gain access or sometimes don't even know what they are here to do Carrie expects my husband or one of the other board members to let them in and show them! Ridiculous this is a management companies job! Takes an act of god to get anything done. Their townsquare service platform online is useless. I reported something in January and still nothing. Nothing is perfect, however, Anthony Corcoran, the Community Manager is awesome. He is always on the job. He takes time to meet the residents, works quickly to address issues, communicates with us via email every week to provide updates on projects and is just an all-around great guy. They took over as of 9/1/2022 and has been terrible in communication. I was in the process of refinancing and the lender wanted me to have a form completed. After 3 weeks of attempting to communicate with me, I was informed that they are not able to fill out a simple form from my lender and that I would need to pay $200 for a form that I am not able to see to know if my lender is able to use it, wait 10 additional days, and be charged to use a debit/credit card. This was a terrible move from our previous HOA company. Not even a month in and I am extremely unsatisfied. In my opinion, the "Professional" should be removed from the name. read more

Still having packages stolen here on a daily basis. Instead of buying an amazon locker that way packages will be safe for everyone they choose to pay a worthless security guard to guard a pool..... fire the security guard then you'll have funds to purchase a locker. There's currently parcel lockers in the mail room that could be used they need to be deleted and repaired but there's no interest in safe guarding are packages only guarding an empty pool.. We got a new onsite manager last January and hiring him has made the biggest difference for our property. Anthony is a great communicator, personable, and knowledgeable. Associa found him for us and provides him great support as a backup. We are so grateful for Anthony and most all the homeowners love him. read more

Our property manager is a poor communicator, ineffective, and a compulsive liar. I engaged with his management and am getting the same run around. He posed a potential "solution" to my plumbing/potential mold problems implying that he received the opinion from a licensed plumber but in fact he came to the conclusion himself. He is not a licensed plumber and is not legally qualified to give definitive plumbing recommendations. Also, I am getting the run around about my trees being trimmed 2 years in a row. The trees are blocking my ocean views & he makes excuses every time I inquire about the tree trimming. The property manager does not understand what it is like to be a homeowner since he isn't one himself and doesn't empathize with the homeowner. Every issue I raise seems to be an inconvenience for him. When issues are raised to his management they are not resolved in a timely manner. Homeowners pay $525-$875 per month HOA fee depending on bedroom count, which is high, and the quality of service should be in line with the high fees, but unfortunately, Associa does not provide quality service. The previous management company we used before was way better than Associa as we never had an issue with tree trimming or unresolved plumbing issues. I wish we could turn back time! read more

I have had nothing but issues with this "management" company since I moved into my condo this past year. The current issue I am having is that I'm trying to get my mortgage refinanced. My mortgage broker is in need of my complex's budget and additional items in order to complete the process. We were told that a packet "should have" been mailed to me back in November, after a new budget was established for the year, but I NEVER received one. My broker has been trying to contact and get JEANNE WAAL to respond to her numerous emails and phone calls for a week now so that I won't LOSE MY LOCKED-IN APR ON MY NEW MORTGAGE. The receptionist there has told us that Jeanne has not been in the office the past few days. Which doesn't explain why we are not getting ANY RESPONSE from her. I need someone to respond so that I can get the information that I AM ENTITLED TO BY LAW. This isn't the first time I've had issues. I had initially inquired with Jeanne, as well as her "assistant," JOSE ORTIZ, what I need to do if water needs to be shut off to my unit. No answer. I have had several months where I never received a bill for my HOA fees. I've had one month where I received double billing even though my check for my HOA fee had been deposited two days after it was due. It seems like this management company is in disarray and I AM SUFFERING AT THE COST OF IT. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE AND FRUSTRATING. Looking up other Massingham & Associate yelp reviews, I see this is across the board at all offices. How are we supposed to trust a company that continues to treat us like this? read more

My dealings have been exclusively with a Ms. Perkins At Massingham and Associates who is the contact person for our condo complex. She has completely ignored multiple emails and calls on two separate occasions. Is a week a reasonable time to decide she never plans to respond to my message? The rare instance she does reply I find her tone to be dismissive bordering on rude, certainly not as professional as you'd hope for someone who is the contact person for many residents. As a result, I have not formed a favorable impression of this company. Things in our condo complex remain broken for months, even up to a year. Meanwhile, dues are paid every month. I own other condos in other cities & no HOA is as bad as Associa. I've dealt with them for 7 years now & it seems like it's getting worse. All the community managers have poor communication with owners. It takes years to get issues fixed. It took 2 years to get someone to come out & treat my window for termites. It's taken already months for someone to come out & address the rodent issue. It's already been 3 years that I sent pictures & had someone inspect my sliding door frame with no resolution. They change rules on us without sending us memos or alerts. I've had my car wrongfully towed that I had to pay for & Associa took months to reimburse me. The major community issue is mail theft which Associa has done NOTHING about. Our dues recently increased but the odd thing is the past year, our community services have gone declined. We pay for security & cameras for no reason because crimes such as mail theft are being committed daily. I cannot even ask security to review camera footage because they don't have access. It is important to look at your HOA company before buying in a community! read more
