They determined the issues centered around several issues related to the compressor and adjacent parts (receiver dryer and expansion valve). To fix it, they wanted to charge over 1300$ for parts and labor -- on an A/C compressor kit, labor, refrigerant, and recover/recharge. For parts, they wanted to charge $776 for the compressor kit. The exact same part (by item #) costs anywhere between 407$ and 573$ locally. For labor, the estimate was $348. For comparison, AAA estimates $191 (average) for labor in this area for the same fix. That rate equates to $125 - $160 per labor hour, depending on the estimated hours. I'm suspect that for normal oil changes and routine maintenance, they are probably good. But, I am glad I declined the major repairs.

They had my 2009 Honda Ridgeline for over seven days to correct the installation of the Rack and Pinion Steering unit they installed on the 15th of May 2026. Thanks for picking up my Honda Ridgeline 7 days after the 24th of May for a follow-up on the 1st of June 2026. I'm still experiencing steering issues with the installation and underbody noises. I won't be returning for any future mechanical services due to the inconvenience of this issue. Yes, in the past, they did do a superb job, but it's time to move on after this SNAFU.
