I visited Midas first time for an oil change and a tire rotation. I initially made an appointment with them for some time on tuesday, but had to reschedule for thursday. They were very accomodating with the change. On Thursday I ended up being 20 minutes late for my appointment. Before I left I called ahead and let them know of my reservation time and why I was going to be late. They were totally understanding and said its not a problem. I got there, checked in with them, gave them my information and keys and let em have at it. About 30 minutes later everything was done and I was ready to go. The person who was managing the counter went over what they did to my car. Midas did a full checkup of the car to see if anything was wrong, and everything was great. I signed, paid and left. Overall it was a nice quick and painless and the service was fabulous. I would definitely visit them again for their services and I recommend anyone who needs maintenance done on their car to go see them. read more

my appointment was at 1 today and had to wait for them to check a/c. Now it's 2:35 they changed A/C without my ok. Came out with bill for $275.00. We're never coming back here. Don recommend this place. Also the white lady was rude. read more

I took my car there to get an A/C check/diagnostic, which was by far the cheapest in the area. While I am glad I went there to get an estimate, they are overpriced for major work. They determined the issues centered around several issues related to the compressor and adjacent parts (receiver dryer and expansion valve). To fix it, they wanted to charge over 1300$ for parts and labor -- on an A/C compressor kit, labor, refrigerant, and recover/recharge. For parts, they wanted to charge $776 for the compressor kit. The exact same part (by item #) costs anywhere between 407$ and 573$ locally. For labor, the estimate was $348. For comparison, AAA estimates $191 (average) for labor in this area for the same fix. That rate equates to $125 - $160 per labor hour, depending on the estimated hours. I'm suspect that for normal oil changes and routine maintenance, they are probably good. But, I am glad I declined the major repairs. read more

Came in for a tire rotation service, I know that 2 of my tires need replacement. I knew they were going to try to sell me 2 tires but no. All the tires need replacement according to the expertise of those guys, how convenient and because tire rotation is so cheap at $20, well they decided to deny the service. read more

Spoke with Mike about getting Extreme Continental tires for size 245 / 40 / 17 for a luxury car which is the original brand on the car. They quoted me $136 per tire with labor $76. This was the best price for these tires when other mechanics charged more, $180-200 per tire. Kind and quick service. I did not make an appointment and drove up on a Saturday afternoon - we were the second car in line and left our car there for the oil to be changed while we ran and grabbed a late lunch. I have found this service center to be above board and right on for many years. Yes they tell me something that I did not expect on over the phone call, but in all fairness we both were not looking at the car together. He could not have possibly provided me an accurate cost of repair with the information I had. That is what I like about this Midas. I always get to see the service recommendation before anything is authorized. Where can you find that every day? I have had bad news, but at least I have been able to see the issue before the repair. I do not understand how people can find some items helpful, from customers that admit to "welding brake lines". This person is out on the road putting his and our lives in danger, and he wants us to believe that the Midas store was intentionally damaging his car...really? This Midas store has performed exemplary service for us for many years. I thank them that they are sharing information with me, that at times is not what I want to hear, but it is always my decision in the end. I do not fault them for that! Come in and see for yourself. I came to them via a called quote for about $200 to change out my rear break line. Since they came recommended, I figured it would be worth a try. I left the vehicle with them and and went across the street for coffee at the McDonalds. I got a call about 45 minutes later asking me "what the problem was with the truck" since he couldn't find the break issue. Mind you, the truck is missing a rear break line... one I welded shut to keep front breaks. This was concerning that he obviously hadn't even looked at the vehicle, but I thought I would let it pass. He then calls me back 25 minutes later with an estimate of ~$2300.00. Not only was I immediately upset, but I was on guard. I left earlier than I told him so I could get a good view of the truck. While standing across the street, I told him I wasn't interested and would be back shortly. For the next ten minutes I watched personally as they re-added potions of the vehicle frame/members they had removed to intentionally add repair cost. Not only did they attempt a bait and switch, but they also attempted to damage and charge for work they had caused. I confronted the manager and let him know what was going on, and he came at me instead of looking into what was going on with his employees. Such a stance means that he is not only condoning the behavior, but likely encouraging and taking part in it. I wouldn't suggest them to change a hub cap and this point. Columbus is often known for being riddled with scam artists because of eh Military presence, but this was far worse than anything I've ever experienced here. read more

After getting swindled by the local Firestone one time too many, I gave davo a try, although his customer service was very friendly, and he was honest about the repairs I needed...he tried to "get" me with a way overpriced quote (like Firestone) I knew that at least one place in this area had to be both honest/fair with their quotes of service...I called quite a few national chains/local mechanics (didn't want to get "GOT" again by taking my car to a non aaa accredited local barn mechanic (they're everywhere) so after many calls, the next on my list was Midas, I spoke with skylar regarding the work I needed done and potential work I may need as well, he was great, he gave me quotes on everything...parts...labor...and costs if I purchased my own parts (EVERY other shop I called gave me a flat out inflated quote with no breakdowns) I was still a bit hesitant given the shadiness I'd encountered in this area but after going over everything with my old mechanic (who was 20hours away and unable to work on my vehicle) we agreed Midas was the best choice, I stopped by right when they opened, skylar just so happened to be at the desk, he checked me in and got the process going. The wait area was kind of small but they did have a tv to take away from the awkwardness. Once they took a look at everything skylar and a mechanic went over everything that I was having done to confirm and offered a couple of additional services. An hour later my car was ready, no getting "GOT" this time, if you're looking good work at fair prices skip on everyone else and head over to Midas, your car and your wallet will thank you! read more
