Sun's Cleaners & Tailors - Inner layer is longer than the outside layer.

I don't recommend New Sun's Dry Cleaners & Tailors (陽光乾洗)on 1904 bath Ave Brooklyn NY 11214. The…read morelady was so unprofessional and does not know what she is doing. She didn't know how to measure length properly. She was mean and spoke very rudely. Please don't use this place, you will regret it! On May 13th, I took my daughter's prom dress to New Sun's Dry cleaners to have them alter it shorter. I showed the dress to the lady and asked her if she could alter the dress. I specifically mentioned this material was stretchy. I pinned the outside layer and told her the length that I wanted and make the inside layer match accordingly. She said it was an easy job. I liked the confidence from her answer, so I thought she would do a great job. She asked me to pay in advance; I didn't even question it and paid that day. On May 29th, I was very disappointed when I saw the dress. She didn't even tailor a straight line on the dress plus the thread was skipped. She said that material of the dress was hard to do the alteration on and that it was the best she could do. I asked her before I dropped it off and she said it was an easy task. I asked how come some sections were ok and some sections the thread skipped. I dropped off the dress to her because I thought she was a professional. She should have told me that she wasn't able to do it. I also inspected that the inner layer was longer than the outside layer, but she pulled the outer layer very hard and tried to cover up the fact that the inner layer was longer. I thought I saw it wrong. However she said she would try to FIX IT for me and had it picked up later that evening. I said I am not in a hurry, take her time and I could pick it up tomorrow. The following day, I was stuck in a meeting, so I sent my sister to pick up the dress. When I took the dress out, I could see the inside layer was sticking out (see attached pictures). I asked my sister to take it back to her. When my sister arrived, she said I told her that was the length of the inner layer‍that I asked her to. She also said that when I brought the dress to her, it was already like that . She said she would not fix it unless I pay her again. She also suggested that my daughter try the dress on, maybe it would magically make the outside layer look longer than the inside. This is unacceptable, it wasn't about the money, just the principle. I would not pay another penny to fix it. My sister took the dress back cause she thought she would intentionally ruin the dress if I let her fix it again. This lady needs to be more responsible for her actions. This business has no quality or integrity, and the services are bad. If you don't want to jeopardize your lovely clothes, then I urge you to not use this place. You will waste your hard earned money, clothes, and just ruin your day. It is unacceptable to have this kind of service in the community. The business should be closed down so it will not happen to anyone else.

Very good quality work here at a fast turn around price with unbeatable pricing in 2025. If you're…read morelooking for suit alterations/dresses, you name it, the lady here can do it! RUDE AF. Every time…read moreI come here for alterations, the guy talks me out of it. I have no idea why. I came in a few years ago to get my prom dress shortened because it was too long and he said I didn't need to. He suggested I wear platform heels instead.... the dress was literally dragging on the floor and I would have tripped if it wasn't altered but .. alright?? then proceeded to tell me that the dress was cheap quality and it would cost more than what I paid for the dress to get altered... so rude. sorry I can't afford a 1k+ gown for prom I was literally 17. took my business elsewhere. Came in recently to get another dress altered because it was a tad big on me. He told me the dress was out of style+ altering it wouldn't change that fact. He then proceeded to tell me my boobs were not full enough to make the dress fit and the color was unflattering for my skin tone so I should just get an entirely different dress instead... ??? I really tried giving this guy a second chance but I thought those comments were really rude + uncalled for and I'm never going back there again after that. I can't speak on their dry cleaning but don't come here for alterations unless you want to be judged :') thanks for the brutal honesty I guess?? btw-- if you're reading this, I absolutely rocked BOTH dresses without your help, thanks for nothing.

I am always greeted very warmly and professionally and the work/tailoring always exceeds my expectations. You may think that all of these places are the same, but I can assure you they are not. If you've ever had your hem start to unravel, you know what I mean. That never happens here as they take enormous pride in what they do and they always get it right the first time and that is why I keep going back. So glad they are in my neighborhood and very highly recommend.

I can't speak for other customers' experiences, but I had no issues the few times I have been here…read more I came here a few times for pants alterations, which were $8/pants, and a zipper fix for my winter coat and the work by the employees was excellent. The shop is extremely small and tight, but the ladies here do a good job. At times, their vibe could be interpreted as unfriendly, especially if you've never interacted with them, but don't take their curtness for rudeness. In no way does it look like their intention to be unfriendly, but it's just the way they operate - quick and to the point. In addition, they don't speak fluent English, so sometimes things can get lost in translation. If you DO need any type of alterations or clothing fixes, all you have to do is walk in, present to them what you need done and they'll take a look at it on the spot and let you know if it can or cannot be done. If whatever you need can be done, they'll fill out a receipt for you with the date you came in, what the work is and how much it might cost. When your clothing is ready, they'll give you a call and you can come in to pick it up. It's that easy or at least those were the experiences I had and each time was a replica of the previous. In addition, the pricing for their work was very reasonable as I called up a few tailoring shops for a quote and Sanita's always came out as the lowest or equivalent.
