Im Sadly disappointed in the work I received last Saturday morning by nail technician Jane.. it appeared to look ok until the top coat dried and then it completely showed how she didn't go completely to the nail bed nor all the way to the sides of the nails with neither the polish or the top coat. I've been going to Professionail for the passed 8 Years and never had this issue. In addition all of a sudden a glitter top coat is now suddenly being Charged as a "Nail Design" this a First... I was charged an extra $10 for the very crooked not uniformed silver glitter across my nails. I wasn't satisfied at all and I returned the following day to ask that they be fixed and the nice man at the counter asked WHO did this work? I said Jane.. he said oh No please sit she will Fix it. I sat and waited patiently and yet all she did was add another Top Coat to it! Uuhmm NO this isn't fixed.. she said Yes looks better sit over there so they can dry I said No you need to re-polish them so they look Nice. She said it's nice.. the manager just sat there on her phone watching and listening and said Nothing. I let them know I would Never be back. read more

Today was the day I was looking forward for three months. Mine you I been getting my nails done here for more than 10 years. Not only me but My Mom an sister's. So today everything was great . They have installed all the necessary precautions. I felt completely safe an even when I had to sign a waiver concerning COVID . I was more than happy to do it. But while I was filling up the paperwork I mentioned to the employee that I had COVID an I had recovered. He look at me scare .I said I'm perfectly fine an I been clear by my doctor. By this time the girl that does my nail YVONEE came to direct me to the chair. As I was sitting I told her how excited I was to be back an I said I need to tell you what has happen during this time. She proceeded to leave an told me to soak my feet. After a while the person in charge tells me the owner wants to talk to me. He ask me if i was still sick . I said NO . I would never expose my self or anyone else to this sickness if I was. That would be irresponsible of me. Well to make a long story short I was discriminated because I HAD COVID. They refuse to service me . Which find it unacceptable an also ignorant on their part. The owner told me he couldn't force any of the ladies to provide me the service. Needless to say I left that place not only mad but extremely disappointed an crying. I never felt so humiliated an offended. The fact that I made a comment in an innocent an honest way just got me banned . 10 YEARS down the drain. Because I'm never coming back. Not only me or my family . But many many friends that also used to get their nails here. Please educated yourselves.!!! This time it was me next time it might be someone else that can take this to the next step. So first time going there. It seemed to be busy at 11am. Waited for 20min walk in. Got a manicure but it didn't seem like I did. Barely cleaned my cuticles and I haven't gotten a manicure in a while. I expected a lot to be taken out. Definitely overpriced due to the fact that It felt like I just got a gel color for $27. They told me that they didn't accept cards , cash only and sent me to the ATM. They do have a large selection of pretty gel colors to choose from. read more

Minimal seating and poor customer service. The only person who seems friendly is Tiffany (the one in the dress). The manicurists probably don't mean to be rude, but they come off as so when they mention other services that have nothing to do with the original treatment, such as facial masks suggesting customers have acne or hair removal, suggesting customers are too hairy. I understand that it's for business purposes, but in ProfessioNail's case a little subtlety goes a long way. The salon takes cash only. A bit of a hassle. They do a fair job on pedis and manis for the price. Their threading is not that great compared to other salons that use the thread meant for hair removal. At ProfessioNail, the procedure takes more time and hurts a lot more than, say, Beauty by Dolly. The only reason why I continued to go to ProfessioNail was because it was the best nail salon near the Chula Vista/Eastlake area in terms of quality of paint job (not necessarily service) and it was the only salon that would thread my brows. If you're willing to drive a little further try Beauty by Dolly for threading or Uptown Nails (located in Hillcrest) for nails. read more

Ive been going to this place for about 3 years now. & So far its one of the best ive tried yet. For nails: I Recommend either Emily or her sister Mimi, they both do a great job, take their time and take off all your dead cuticles. Ive also tried other tech's their and overall they ALL do a pretty good job. For Waxing: Tina's the best! She definitely knows how to shape your brows and she will keep them at a good length. Only problem is, since Tina is so good at what she does, theres been a few times where she half assed my brows (although they turned out nice they could of been done better) mainly because she was in a RUSH to get to her next client. My facial treatment was the worst treatment I've ever had anywhere. I dimmed the lights in the room to try to enjoy my experience and the lady told me she needed to see so she turned the light back on to full brightness and told me I would just get used to it. She did microdermabrasion on me and she tossed my face around so hard. This was anything but relaxing. She kept going in and out of the room as if she wasn't prepared for the treatment. Her hands were not therapeutic in the least. I felt like she was so rough and fast. I felt tossed around. Then when it was time to leave, she wouldn't leave the room so I had to put my blouse on with her watching me. I don't recommend this place for facials. So first let me start off by saying that this is the second Professionail I have been too. This may also very well be the reasoning for my 3 star review. First impression of this place was, wow very small. It was very crowded and you hardly had any room to walk. This place could improve greatly in the near future with a renovation or just expanding the space. I went in with my friend to get our nails done on a Sunday. They were casually busy just like any nail salon on a Sunday afternoon would be. We waited around twenty minutes or so to get our nail techs. They started our manicures. They had asked me if I would like to get any wax done as well. Indeed, I needed my eye brows waxed as well as wanting to get my lip done too. My nail lady said okay no problem. As soon as she put the acetone to take my old shellac off, she comes up to me and has me lean back in the chair. I think okay...? What I realized shortly after that is that she is going to do my waxing right there out in the open! I thought. Omg I don't want to do this anymore. I hadn't got a wax done in so long I was nervous how I would react, let alone having 20+ people watching me do it. But the time I contemplated it, it was too late. I let her do it. It wasn't so bad but it really sucked for me because I couldn't touch my face or anything because my fingers were currently soaking in acetone. Thankfully my friend was sitting next to me to take off the excess cotton ball the lady had left behind on my eyebrows. Lets just say I will not be getting a wax there ever again. The quality of the wax was good, I just like my privacy. We continued on with our manicures. My friend and I both got a simple french white tip with shellac. Thinking, easy enough right? My friend's nails turned out great. The lady who was working on hers did a really nice job. I wasn't too happy with mine. After she was done with my nails she asked me to look at them and I asked her to fix a few things, like the shape of my nails they were all different. Wasn't really a shape to them I guess, they were just kind of however she decided to file them individually. I realized that the white tip was actually crooked on my nail but she did nothing to fix it. She just filed my nail and asked me if that was better. I sighed and said sure because I was obviously not going to get anywhere with her. Overall, I think it's a nice place and they do nice work. But for me, just nice. Not great. Just okay. I hope everyone else who goes here has a better experience than I did! I do love the other Professionail on Washington street though. They are amazing over there! 1st time I've been here I thought the place was a little small not very wheelchair friendly but they did a good job on my nails.

Walked in today and it wasn't too busy for a Thursday afternoon. If I could give it slightly less than 3 stars I would, but it's all good. I got a spa pedi done by Julie. I chose my color and got seated within 2 min of signing in. The service was basic; I was in and out in 30 min, which I can appreciate if I was in a rush. The actual pedi was ok...it was even and the nail shape was good however I did have to go home and shape down a couple nails since the corners were snagging. One of the downsides when I went to pay was the fact that I paid with a debit card that I usually run as credit and they charged me an additional $1 as a surcharge. I wish that they would have had that posted on their menu since I'm all about transparency but whatever! Overall the quality was good. Walk-in review. Sister recommended the place and even got me a gift certificate, so why not. The wait was not too long, but I was afraid being seen within the last half hour of closing that they were going to rush and not do a good job (like I've experienced before.) It was extremely busy, apparently that's the norm from what I was hearing. The had a wide variety of nail polish (gel, shellac, acrylic). They even had a selection for gel mani w/ matching regular color for pedis. Nail techs were nice and attentive. Didn't feel any rush at all with my nails being done. Massage chair was nice. I'll see how my gel nail polish holds for the next two weeks, as well as my toes in order for a return visit. May want to make appointment ahead to avoid the business and wait. read more

I needed to find a place to bring my pre-teen for some serious eyebrow waxing. I yelped and was impressed by all the great reviews and recommendations on Tina. We walked in, the place was packed with people getting manis and pedis. We waited about 10 minutes for Tina. She is fast and very good. No more Frida jokes for my belle. I have been a regular customer here for approximately three years and all the employees provide exceptional customer service. I most definitely recommend this salon to all my friends! I do have a couple concerns though, which are truly for the owners. Men and women in the workforce should be treated equally and it is not equality when the female employees are required to wear a "smock" while the male employees are not required to wear the same uniform. When I questioned this in the beginning of the new uniform tops being required for only female employees, I was told the male smocks were on order. And that response was many months ago. I hope to see these female only hot, purple & pink polyester uniforms be removed from your business policy so no discrimination complaints are filed. And one other small item... The restroom is filthy. Please take the time to see and clean the piled dust on the mirror, the light sconces, and other areas. There is a tyrant running this place named Jennifer and the owner turns a blind eye and allow her to do whatever she please. I was here for a pedicure over the weekend, hoping to feel pampered and cool outside of the house but I, along with other customers and the girls who work here, were sweating, uncomfortable, and my God I almost pulled out my inhaler. Let me tell you what I observe. The middle age lady, sitting on the second row, would loudly and rudely make sarcastic remarks to customers who complain that they're hot. Good thing I had my paper fan with me to manually keep myself cool. I should have walked out when this lady Jennifer walked up to me and said "if you're hot wear thinner! stay home! do you turn on ac at home?" I was recording and google translating what she said and it's not the nicest words in her maiden tongue. I've been maintaining my eyebrows myself for the longest time; however, I'm horrible at doing it. I hate whenever I overpluck and having to wait for my brows to grow back. I've heard horror stories about getting waxing done on eyebrows, but I've heard good things about this place. One day, I decided to muster up all my courage and go into Professionail in hopes of getting nicely shaped eyebrows. Tina is the sweetest person ever! She took me by the hand and helped me relax. Initially, I thought the process was going to be traumatizing, but the waxing wasn't all that bad. She talked me through the process and even got to know me better. She even took the time to reshape them, paying attention to the littlest details. Plus, $8 is a great price :) A couple of weeks later after my first eyebrow waxing, I came back to ask for Tina. By then, I'd already chopped off a lot of my hair, but she still recognized me! Hooray! I'd definitely recommend her especially for first-timers. Do take note that if you want to use your card, it's a $15 minimum and there's a usage charge. I forgot how much, but it's there. I'm definitely coming back more often to become a regular. read more

Loved this place! I recently moved to sd and I have been searching for a good nail salon for months. Normally I would just wait to go to my nail salon back home when I go visit my family but I have a couple events coming up so I had to get them done. First of all, this place is open on a Sunday! Not only did they take me but they didn't make me wait for one minute for a walk in. A man greeted me when I walked in and I ask if anyone was available for a full set with gel and pedi and he said absolutely just choose a color. As I was picking out a color, the lady who did my pedi approached me and said to take a seat and she'll bring me the sheets of gel. How nice!!! I felt very catered to. She started my pedi and then the lady who was did my full set, Cindy, got started. Cindy is absolutely amazing! I am very very picky with my nails and she got them exactly how I wanted them. I just showed her a picture of the shape and she did them perfectly. She was very meticulous and friendly. To top it off the pricing was pretty good. In LA I would normally spend 65 for full set with gel and pedi but here I spent $57. The experience was exceptional and is now my new sd nail salon :) read more

She did try and make conversation with me but it was hard for me to understand her just because I can hear other conversations around the salon. I had to return a week later because two of my acrylic nails fell off. A week later. I came back thinking they would apologize and didn't they still charged me $8 to fix it. I walked in for an eyebrow waxing and there was no wait, which was nice, but they proceeded to wax my eyebrows at a chair in front of everybody getting their nails done, not in the open room in the back with a table for me to lay on. They don't accept card unless your purchase is over $15 (which is complete BS). They directed me to get money from the next door credit union which charges you for taking out money.
