I wish I had found Prodigy much sooner! They make moving feel easy! I have moved many times in my life, and never wanted to pay for movers...that is, until my husband and I decided we were moving to Los Angeles after many months of being out of town. I did a lot of research trying to see what would be the best deal and eventually landed on Prodigy hoping that my research would pay off. I was so nervous about everything having never hired movers before, but Abby helped me out throughout the entire process and soothed my stress. She answered every question i could think of and assured me of a great move. The movers arrived at our home in Oakland early, which was awesome. They also called me giving me 40 minutes warning that they would be arriving, which was an even bigger bonus. I had plenty of time to make sure we were ready for them. Gabriel, the foreman, was very professional and was very helpful to my husband and I. He had a team of about 5 guys and they were all so great! We were completely moved out of the apartment in under 2 hours! We even had time to go for a celebratory brunch after! After the movers left with all of our stuff we expected to be without all of our things for at least 5 business days, and no more than 10 business days so we packed our little car with basic essentials and headed down to Los Angeles. Much to my shock I got a call from Abby on Sunday (we left Friday afternoon) and she informed me that my things would be delivered on Tuesday morning! Woohoo! No camping for us! The team in Los Angeles was just as great as the team in Oakland! They were thorough, friendly, and helpful. Again, all of our stuff was moved in to our new home in under two hours! Everything arrived in great condition and the movers were very careful with our new beautiful wood floors. I cannot recommend Prodigy Movers highly enough! They are fantastic! NorCal to SoCal and more stuff than I could comfortably move myself. Searching the Internet for movers and seeing costs and complications quickly overwhelmed me. I filled out a generic form for movers to reach out to me with quotes. The styles in which companies contact you and what info they provide quickly thins the competition. Prodigy rose above the rest with their sales style, reputation and affordability. Abby, the customer service rep, was available without being pushy in the decision-making period. She was generous with detailed information on messages and emails - she didn't make me call her back to speak face to face so she could "sell" me. When I was ready to hire Prodigy she was quick with responses and actions and was a great problem solver. I had a finicky HOA to deal with and she never made me feel high-maintenance as I asked for signatures and forms and special timing. Day of the pick up Gabriel and his crew were punctual and professionally friendly. I love how each of the movers introduced themselves and shook my hand. The space they were moving some items from was crowded and they plotted their movements and were careful & respectful. They suggested and helped wrap some items that needed special care. I felt very comfortable sending some of my favorite belongings off with them to meet me in LA a couple of weeks later. Marcos and his team arrived exactly on time on the day we scheduled. This move included an elevator and some tight corners and the unpacking of the items. They helped place the large items and removed all trash when they left. Friendly and very efficient. My HOA rep who had to supervise the move couldn't believe how effortless it was. I was nervous about moving these beloved items and I really wanted to stay within a certain dollar amount. With Prodigy I had a very successful experience and a very successful move. I would use again and I highly recommend. read more

Moving is always one of the most challenging and complicated things you'll ever do. Prodigy made it easy for us. From the time I asked for multiple quotes, their customer service already made a very good impression. Shelly immediately responded within 10 minutes I sent the request and we talked almost right after. I liked the details of their quote, the explanation was clear and her tone and our conversation was easy and professional. They requested to tweak the time of day we agreed on (for the moving) but it wasn't really a hassle since we it was just a few hours later. Plus, they gave me an acceptable discount for the change of time. Jesus (the Foreman) and his crew were professional, good natured, very speedy and efficient. Though we only agreed for 3 people to do the job, a 4th guy arrived to help out to speed up the transfer (without any additional cost to us). That was much appreciated. All our things were packed with care and they even pointed out some furniture that already had slight damage to make us aware that they were already moving such. They brought in the things with care (no scratches on the walls) in our new place and even put carpets so the beautiful hardwood floors won't get scratched. After several days, Shelly even did a follow up call to check if everything went well. Great customer service, excellent service, good natured professionals. I didn't mind paying a marginal bit more (they may charge a little higher than others) bec it was worth it. They also didn't nickle and dime for any extras. Aside from the discount they gave me for changing the time of the move, I purchased their Yelp promo too ($20 for $50) so it practically negated any higher pricing they had vs the others. We just moved from SoCal to NorCal. We have used Prodigy Movers for our last 3 moves and I will use no one else. They are the best!!! The care and commitment shown by every employee I've encountered at Prodigy is simply outstanding. I am not a big yelper, but Prodigy is truly a remarkable company so I had to share. Prior to these moves, we've always had company-paid relocations using nationally-known movers. These moves cost a fortune (for the company), and were chaotic and frequently contentious (missing and broken items.) Since we finally had to pay for our own move, I researched extensively for both reliability and price. Prodigy was one of only 4 movers willing to send out a rep (Illya) to the house to bid on our move. Their "not more than" price was fairly competitive with the others, but they were the only ones who were totally realistic about the amount of time, # of men, and equipment that would be required for a smooth move. Illya was also super upfront about what protections and rights you have as a customer in CA - who knew?! Most importantly, the crew!!! WOW! Martin has been the Crew Chief for all 3 of our moves, per my request. He is amazing!!! This man has got to be one of the hardest working humans I have ever encountered! There is literally nothing Martin won't do to get your stuff where you want it - safe and sound! He is a terrific leader, willing to take on any challenge and his crew just follows his lead. He also has an incredible memory and attention to details. He and his crew are always upbeat and miraculously make a move as fun as a move can be - NOT an easy feat! I cannot say enough amazing things about Prodigy. They were courteous, efficient, careful, safe, and thorough at every turn. This is the first time I am writing a review on Yelp and it's because I had to - they deserve the acknowledgement!! They packed up my entire home and moved me from Los Angeles to San Francisco and everything was easy and with smiles. Everyone from the sales agent who came to do my inventory and quote to the Supervisor organizing the dates and managing the entire process to the ground crew in each location were so so nice and helpful. They packed everything very carefully and efficiently and moved it all with care. I didn't hire them to unpack my belongings, but they moved me in and stayed almost the entire day just to make sure everything was as I wanted it and in the right place. In fact, they sent in additional crew members about 2 hours in just to make the process was faster and more convenient for me. I was amazed by this extra service - without even a mention of additional cost!! THAT's commitment. I used a much "fancier" white glove service when I moved cross country two years prior and they have nothing on Prodigy. What's more, when I first called them for a quote, it was more than twice as much!! I recommend Prodigy VERY highly and wish them much continued success because they truly work hard for it and deserve it. I also hope for all the movers out there that they expand to other states so more people can have such a wonderful experience with an otherwise stressful thing like moving. This is the first time I used a moving company considering I've moved nearly 6 times in the past 10 years. Since this was a SF to LA move, it made sense. I've considered other companies but Prodigy stood out far beyond others. I had to try them after reading some solid reviews. Firstly Abby the customer rep was fantastic in communicating to me the process, the details of the move, and costs. Not only was the entire move very much competitive to many other companies, they were thorough in the detailing of costs. The lead for the SF side Gabriel was very thorough, efficient, and worked with me personally in packing everything adequately for the truck. Since they prefer everything in boxes, his team helped me fit miraculously every single odd shaped item into a box. They even disassembled my bed and wrapped it all up snug and tight, all included in the cost. Again, extremely efficient without being careless. Things were padded, taped, and secured. Total load time just a bit over hour and half. Very impressed with his team. For the LA side, Noah the ring leader and his team members were on time, even pleasantly a bit early. One person assembled my bed, while the others moved everything else into my place. They took instructions perfectly well, moved efficiently like the first team. Even rolled out tarp on the floor as to not scuff up the wood!! Very considerate! I'd like to thank his team members Ricardo, Rafu and Ivan for the speedy move. Total unload time about an hour. I will definitely use Prodigy again if I move again. Well worth the money! read more

I couldn't have been happier with the service I got from Prodigy Moving & Storage. I stumbled upon on their business while looking for a moving company on Yelp, and am so happy I did! Firstly, I must admit that I am a procrastinator, so I put off finding movers until the last minute. When I called Prodigy, I needed movers in a week's time. I spoke to Veronica and she was incredibly helpful. She called with an estimate when I was on a plane, so she e-mailed me a detailed explanation of the estimate. She and I spoke back and forth a few more times, and though she initially had told me they were completely backed up until the next week, she then told me that something had opened up in just a couple of days, so I jumped on it! I was told the movers would come between 12 and 6 pm, and was expecting to have to sit around all day waiting for someone to come. In fact, the movers were early! Gabriel and his crew came exactly when he had called to say they would arrive. Gabriel walked me through all the contracts, explained everything in detail, and answered all my questions. The crew packed things like my TV stand (which I had NO CLUE how to package up) and handled all of my stuff with so much care--and they were done in exactly one hour! Not even that, but they were all so friendly. All in all, my first experience with movers was easy, painless, and extremely pleasant! I will definitely pass along Prodigy's name to any of my friends or family members who are looking for movers in this area! read more

I would highly recommend Prodigy to anyone preparing to make a move. They moved furniture from my parents' house in northern California to L.A. We had them make two delivery stops--some furniture was to be unloaded at our house and some at my mother's assisted living place. They didn't even charge us any extra for a second stop. The crew was absolutely wonderful, particularly Sagi. He and the other two guys were so careful with our furniture and made every effort to place the furniture where we wanted it, and put every piece back together perfectly--i.e. the table legs back on the table, shelves back in the cabinets, etc. Sagi went out of his way to be helpful, even to the caregivers at the assisted living place, helping them with something that had nothing to do with our move! He and the others treated all of our items with kid gloves. The guys on the northern California end very carefully wrapped our furniture to ensure that nothing would be damaged (and nothing was). My only negative comment has to do with the manager of the crew at the San Francisco end. He was unpleasant and was unable to answer any of my questions, perhaps because he didn't understand them. Abby was terrific in making the arrangements for me over the phone. She offered helpful tips about how we could save some money on the move and was very thorough in her description of the services provided and the charges we should expect. WOW! My experience with Prodigy was the best moving experience I have ever had. And I've moved 6x in the last 6 years...! I indulged in the full-service due to an unexpected super quick move from LA to the Bay Area over the holidays. My foremen, Martin & Gabriel were fantastic. It took 6 guys 4 hours to pack & load everything I own. Smiles and happy demeanors throughout. They finished up around 1pm and my things were ready to be delivered by 8:30 the next morning. They got there before I did! There was a little mis-communication on our pre-determined arrival time. No one complained and they waited for me to arrive. A quick unload was much appreciated after having made the ling drive in my car. Again, despite a very cold day, smiles all around. And they were fantastic with re-assembling all the furniture with care. I finally finished unpacking 3 weeks later. Not a single item broken or damaged. Can't speak highly enough about this company. There was also one other gentleman who was on both ends of the move. He must have driven the truck. I'm sorry I can't remember his name b/c he in particular made the move very pleasant. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you Prodigy! And I can't forget Iliya who arranged the move for me. So kind, sweet and put my mind at ease. It was a challenging move and Abby was so accommodating in helping me with my moving dates. She helped me set up everything which made things so much easier for me. I emailed Prodigy Moving to get a quote on our move from West LA to Thousand Oaks. Received a call back from Abby Kruper within a couple of hours! As they and one other were the top rated movers on Yelp, I gave Prodigy the nod due to their quick response to me. Boy was that a smart move! Abby was terrific explaining the process, and followed up a day later to be sure we were satisfied. I'm sorry I can only give the crew 5 stars here, they were a 7 star team! Hector was in charge, and Escobar, Juan (#2?) and Ipolito rounded out the team. What a great bunch of guys. Fast, efficient, and friendly. Wrapped all my furniture in blankets AND shrink wrapped everything. These guys never stopped working the entire day until they told me they were going to take a 15 minute break and stressed that we wouldn't be charged for the time! I had an idea in my head what the final cost would be, and figured it would end up a few hundred more. There were zero added charges, just as Abby promised. Hector sat down with me and reviewed everything. Gave us 5% off for paying in cash. Moving is always so stressful, and these guys made it easy for us. Terrible Experience, Avoid at All Costs I had an awful experience with this moving company and would strongly advise against using their services. From the start, they were negligent and unprofessional. I had specifically arranged for my TV to be packed and boxed properly, but instead, the movers insisted that I give them a higher tip, saying they would "take care of it" without the proper packing. The result? My TV was broken during the move. As if that weren't bad enough, they also failed to wrap my mattresses and instead dragged them on the ground, leaving them dirty. When I reached out about the damage to my TV, their response was incredibly disappointing. Instead of taking responsibility or making things right, they initially offered me only $60--far below the value of my TV. After a frustrating back-and-forth, they eventually increased it to $375, which is still nowhere near what my TV was worth. This company does not care about your belongings or customer satisfaction. They cut corners, demand extra money, and fail to take accountability for their mistakes. I regret hiring them and will never use them again. If you value your belongings and an stress-free move, look elsewhere. read more

I have used Prodigy several times and my daughter has, too, and we have always had a great experience. This time, however, I had to go with another company because I didn't have much to move and didn't need 4 hours or 3 movers. Prodigy movers are really PROFESSIONAL movers. With this other company, the pace of the move was just slower overall. For example, the Prodigy movers who moved me in got the couch through the door with no problems. I guess they could just see angles well. However, the movers from the other company that moved me out first tried taking the door off, then took the legs off the couch before they were successful. Going with another company, it still cost $456 to move 11 pieces of furniture 20 miles. The job took less than 2 hours, including travel during rush hour. Part of the reason for the high price was that they added double drive time ON TOP of the minimum. Not sure if Prodigy does that or just includes it in the total time. Prodigy's 4 hour minimum still wouldn't have worked for me this time around, but I really missed dealing with really professional movers. read more

This review is for the delivery of a 3 bedroom home from LA to Bay area. Gabriel and his team were so professional, polite, quick and helpful from the unloading of our items to placing them in their respective rooms we asked for. Gabriel also has sound knowledge of furniture, material and how to best assemble them together. He certainly coached his team well, we could tell they were all very observant and well trained. There was a couple of small bump & chip on my outdoor table made of solid wood harder than oak but we will keep in touch with the office on the insurance part. It's a move, we understand there might be some small accidents but nothing major. It could be our furniture had to be loaded, unloaded, reloaded and unload so many times but we'll see how the insurance goes! Despite the fact that we waited a week more on top of our 2 week storage to arrive from LA due to their delivery policy, we are happy with Prodigy. Highly recommend Prodigy, Martin and his team that helped us move from Santa Monica to Los Angeles were fast, cautious, and courteous. They took apart furniture and wrapped all of our items in a careful way as if we were moving across the Country, yet it was only 6 miles. They arrived on time and worked hard (we had a ton of stairs and tight angles that they had to work with). Once we arrived at the new location they put together all of our furniture and took it upon themselves to add floor saver pads to any furniture that was touching our new hard wood flooring. At times I was unsure of where to direct them to put the furniture in the new location and ended up changing my mind a few times, they were always patient and flexible and would move those items again in good spirits. They were on time, cared for our furniture, were cautious of the walls and flooring in both properties while moving, and the estimates provided for the hours, number of movers, and costs were accurate. We recently moved from San Ramon to Tracy and needed lots of help with the move. I googled 4 or 5 moving companies, and also used Yelp to find the right CO. My wife has many valuable furniture pieces which have been passed down by her mother and grandmother. Needless to say she is very nervous when it comes to moving them. We finally decided on Prodigy Movers and what an experience we had. Gabriel, Nacho, Pedro, and one other did an unbelievable job! We had them scheduled for 8-9am the morning of the move, and they were there at 7:30am sharp which even took us by surprise. A weird thing happened that morning. Another truck showed up unannounced. I won't name the CO, however they had a smaller truck which would've been too small. Prodigy provides very large trucks! We are now resting comfortably after 2 days of emptying boxes. Thanks to all of the team at Prodigy including Nicole who even gave me the Yelp $50 discount after I forgot to give it to Gabriel. DO NOT use any other moving company! The very best we have had!!!! I just moved this past weekend with Prodigy and they were everything past reviewers said: on time, fast, careful, nice, and a pleasure to work with. I called several movers in town before reaching out to Prodigy based on a friend's recommendation which worked well because their rates were by far the best of all the movers I spoke with. My initial contact to set up the move was with Abby who was super helpful and friendly over the phone. The move was scheduled for saturday between 8-10 and no deposit was required. Abby called a few days before to confirm the final details and we were set. Gabriel runs the N.California moving team and he was great. Easy to work with and very friendly. He showed up a bit past 8 which was perfect and the rest went like clockwork. Gabriel's team was awesome. The were all pleasant to talk to and moved so quickly. We had a tough move with two separate apartments being consolidated into a 3rd and we were done within 4 hours. I highly recommend using Prodigy for your move. read more

We recently moved from L.A. to San Francisco and used Prodigy movers after getting quotes from 3 other moving companies. Everyone that we interacted with in the company was friendly and professional. We used their packing and moving services from 11/28-11/30/14. The crew that packed our things was very careful and attentive to all our valuables/electronics making sure they properly packed them. They were also very fast and efficient in packing and finished an hour earlier than they had expected. The delivery of our things also went smoothly despite the pouring rain. The delivery crew made sure they did not track in water/mud from their shoes and was careful in unloading our things and reassembling our beds. We are thankful to the packing and delivery crews that we dealt with during our move and wanted to be sure to thank Iliya, Carlos 2, Gabriel, Mauri, Guillermo, and Antonio.
