I had a fantastic experience with this group…read more Firstly, they were very, very thorough when they came over to take a look at my furnace to setup my heat pump and AC. They went through every single vent in the house, inspected every single nook and cranny to determine what would be needed, including the furnace itself. Secondly, they were very patient in revising their estimates several times after every unnecessary question that I asked them with requests for revisions. Thirdly, they came over exactly at the time specified, got to work right away, were very friendly, and didn't ask for anything. They spent a full day, working tirelessly, got the job done, tested it thoroughly, and left only after completing all checks. Their price was very competitive too. All in all a fantastic experience. Once he got the dishwasher out, we saw a rat's nest and chew marks on the power cord and water hose. Due to the fact that the floor was soaked and would need remediation, he was able to move the unit to our porch. He then took the time to diagnose another refrigerator with a plugged drain line and was able to get that cleared out. Will definitely be calling him again with any appliance repair needs, but hopefully not on the weekend next time.

I pitched a project via Yelp to install cooling and replace the furnace to all of the most highly rated companies in the area. All of them recommended a heat pump as opposed to traditional AC. Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

Better Air NW was the only one who didn't give us pricing or a plan and the only one we had a negative experience with. During our in-person consultation, Jered focused on our HOA almost the entire time. Our HOA does have requirements in this area that we don't think are enforceable anymore, and in any case, that's our issue to sort out once a proposal is in place. We reassured Jered we would handle the HOA ourselves and wanted him to treat it like any other job: propose whatever setup his experience would call for and walk us through a plan and pricing. He kept coming back to the HOA anyway, and we struggled to get him to focus on the plan instead. He even told us one of the rooms was "impossible," and when we asked why, the answer was the HOA. It really felt like we were grasping at straws here. By the end of the consultation, our time had been wasted and we still didn't have any pricing or a plan. Later, he texted us that they couldn't do the job, without giving a reason. Since we never got one, we were left to guess: to us, the constant focus on the HOA came across as an easy way to pass on a job they didn't want to take on. No other contractor had trouble coming up with a proposal and pricing. Either way, our suggestion to Better Air NW is to be upfront.

There was a second company recommended as well so I ended up calling both companies and we opted to go with Sam since he sounded very knowledgeable on the call and was more competitively priced than our other quote. I feel so fortunate that we went with Sam. He is a gem and truly knows what he is doing! He is the type of person that you really want to give your business to as another reviewer noted that he is respectful of your home, not pushy at all when it comes to having a follow-up visit and incidentally ended up finding a serious problem with our HVAC inlet piping that we had corrected right away. Two weeks later after our system has been cleaned, I can really notice the difference at home in terms of the drop in dust accumulation. We own a SubZero refrigerator/freezer, which is a little over two years old. About two months ago, its alarm started beeping, showing the condenser needed cleaning and the water filter needed replacing. We replaced the filter and vacuumed around the condenser vent. A few days later the alarm went off again, and continued to do so intermittently. A local firm advertised on the web that they had certified repairmen, and displayed top line appliance logos, including SubZero. I called them and they sent two guys out the next day. After piddling around for a while they said you need a new electronics board, it'll cost $2,400, I'll email you a contract. I asked about warranty and he said probably not. After stewing a few minutes, I called the number on the plate inside the refrigerator; they confirmed the unit was still under warranty, and gave me Professional Appliance Technicians number. Their guy appeared when they said he would; he spread pads on my counter for his laptop, plugged it in to the fridge; watched the screen a couple of minutes. He said you need a software update, and uploaded it. He packed up his gear, and was gone ten minutes after he had walked in. And it was covered under the warranty! i love these folks! My refrigerator stopped working, while the two freezer drawers continued to work just fine. I did some research and found Professional Appliance Technicians, Inc. I selected them given the high marks and also because they are the only local certified repair service for Sub Zero (per the Sub Zero website). I called on the weekend and left a message. They returned my call on Monday, which is what I anticipated. After discussing the problem, they recommended a stop gap measure of putting a fan down by the condenser. That completely worked as the short term solution. The fridge was cool again. They were then able to get me in within two days. Dave, the technician, arrived well within the two hour scheduling window. He was professional and courteous and answered my questions. He took a few things apart, replaced the fan down by the condenser and the problem was solved. He was essentially in an out in one hour. My experience was great and I would recommend them. read more

Is there ever a good time for your sub zero to act up and start displaying error codes? No. During our recent Seattle heat wave, I discovered that the seal around my refrigerator and freezer were very warm to the touch. I called Albert Lee (where I had purchased my appliances in 2006) and they referred me to Professional Appliance Technicians. The scheduler listened to my description of the problem and we found a convenient time for the repair person to visit. The day before, I received a text and an email reminder. I was given a two hour window for arrival time and told that I was the fourth stop on the route. On the day of the service call, I received multiple updates. Two technicians arrived within the service window I was given. They were polite, had masks on and offered to put shoe covers on. They replaced the fan motor and the error codes cleared. I had an issue with my sub zero fridge and freezer. Called the customer service, under warranty, and they were outstanding. I was connected with ProAppliance, their local repair shop. They called me within 15mins and scheduled me for next available in my area. The communication was like no other I've ever received from repair companies. They texted, emailed prior to service to confirm, day of they texted, emailed updates and they called to let me know they'd be coming closer to the end time quoted and to go about my day. Very quick response in setting appointment for repairs. I asked for an estimate of what to expect in cost and received the information in a short amount of time. Got a window of time the service person would arrive and was updated a few days before, their name, as well as night before, day of and when they were on their way. I have a 20 yr old Wolf gas range that had two burners that no longer worked. The service tech came with the supplies needed, were professional, courteous, and restored my range in a short amount of time. Floor was covered with mats to protect. Extremely pleased. We had a fridge that wouldn't cool properly. I called after hours and got a callback the next work day. I scheduled an appointment the next day. We have a 33 year old SubZero and the freezer compartment defrost relay controller was not working and caused the air circulation vent to plug up with ice. Thankfully the replacement part was $80 and we paid the minimum service call fee. The Technician arrived 20 min early and I received frequent updates from ProAppliance and a call from the Technician This was very much appreciated as we experienced a city power outage and ProAppliance worked hard to adjust their other scheduled work to meet our needs. My Wolf ranges broiler was not working. The broiler would light momentarily and then go out. The issue was caused by sooting as the gas jets were for natural gas and my gas supply is LP. The jets had previously been replaced at an earlier service call. The techs replaced the broiler and it appears to be working petfectly now. So...just hire these guys is my recco. Super on-top of communications and service. Didn't oversell and fixed my Sub Zero, first time. I had a different shop look at it, paid them 90 bucks to look at it. They told me $3800 to "fix" it...I looked for a second opinion. Well, turns the first guys diagnosed it wrong. I called Tom and asked if he can replace my compressor and he said, " I don't replace compressors." I said, "OK thank you" and hung up the phone. Not long after that he called me back and asked me, "how do you know you need a new compressor?" I told him the story and he was appalled that the "so-called professional" didn't even pull out the refrigerator to take a look. Of course this is my first time dealing with a refrigerator issue so I really didn't know any better. Long story short, Tom was on his way within two hours. He drove an hour to get to my house on a Friday night. Within about 20 minutes he had fixed my refrigerator but wanted to wait a little while to make sure the compressor was regulating the temperature. While we were waiting he took a look at my dryer. (for free!) This took about 20 minutes, then he checked the refrigerator temperature and what do you know the refrigerator/freezer temperature had dropped dramatically! I was quite surprised to say the least. At this point I was a huge skeptic that my very old refrigerator was going to be fixed. Not only did Tom go above and beyond he kindly wore a surgical mask that I provided him. I have a weak immune system so I need to be extra cautious and Tom was more than willing to accommodate my request. Huge points! Tom really knows his stuff. He's a great communicator, trustworthy, genuine, and will be on my speed dial as my "go to guy" for house repairs. I would highly recommend Tom!

Many vendors I reached out to were either simply not responsive or unable to work on the gas range type that I have at my property. After spending so much time researching vendors who may be able to help... I was really happy to have found Trigen Appliance Repaaur. My interaction with Thomas from Trigen from the get go, however, was a completely opposite experience from other vendors I interact with. Thomas was super responsive via any communications mode I had with him, be it yelp messaging, text or phone. I pretty much get a response (and not just canned responses..but rather..customized answers that were specific to my issues) from Thomas within 10-15 minutes. What I liked about Thomas from Trigen is..I think he genuinely cares and is passionate about the work that he does. He isn't all about money..and genuinely wants to help you resolve your issues. In a specific case, when I described my issue to him, he even suggested trying to diagnose something that may allow me to fix the issue without him even coming to service, which was a really nice attitude he had about his line of work. During the fixing process and because of me being a landlord living far away from my property, he updated me the progress and recommendations throughout the steps. Heck, he didn't mind fronting his own money first to obtain a part needed to fix my gas range either. I really appreciate Thomas' help and would wholeheartedly refer or use his service again in the future.

I called the manufacturer, they wanted CRAZY money to send somebody out. I found First Aid Appliances through Yelp. And it was so worth it. Andy was able to disassemble the freezer and thaw everything out (lots and lots of ice on all the parts) and get it up and running again. Super nice man and he works quickly and his pricing is fair.

We called Andy to look at the fridge because it once again failed within two months. He came the…read morenext day after I called on Thanksgiving Day. We did anticipate that this could happen and he infused fluorescence into the freon to isolate the leak last time during the repair. Andy very quickly isolated the leaking point and showed me where it was. Unfortunately, with the location, it means the fridge is not repairable and we need to get a new one. He filled the compressor with freon so we could at least have a temporarily working fridge while we procure a new one. He gave me some recommendations on what to avoid and what to get. Here is the best part: Andy did NOT want to charge us at all for his service ("because you have to get a new fridge already!") even though he did at least an hour's worth of work (and freon is not cheap). I refused to let him work for free and paid him $120 for his work. This is as honest as it gets. I continue to highly recommend him.

I had called them since my oven and dishwasher had stopped working and I was in a panic. When the gentleman came over they both had face masks on and asked if they needed to take their shoes off. Although they were unable to fix my oven due to a center panel part needing to be repaired which would cost more then getting a new oven, as well as my dishwasher same thing the memory board was shot and since the dishwasher was foreign it would take several weeks to get the part. Both men were very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly. I am definitely keeping their number for future repairs. Definitely recommend them.

If I could give them a minus, I most certainly would. We…read morebought a Miele dishwasher November 9, 2023. It died September 15, 2025. Still under warranty, Miele finally made the decision to replace this dishwasher with a new unit, not under factory warranty, and hired Damian John Installation to install the replacement. Many, many calls were made to Miele to initiate this replacement. Miele made many communications to Damian John for the installation. and sent the replacement to their business on November 24, 2025. I received email confirmation that Damian John was hired by Miele and their phone number to contact them directly should they choose to not contact me. On December 5, 2025, and after 3 months, Damian John installed the replacement. Damian John said: The dishwasher arrived to their business without any paperwork, without any direction. They claimed Miele was not in correspondence with them over this issue. They were in the dark as to what was going on. My response: I called Damian John Installation numerous times to find out when I would get my replacement dishwasher. I sent an email directly to their installation website. No communication whatsoever. Nothing. 10 days later and still no communication from Damian John. I filed a complaint against them with the Washington State Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau, for holding my dishwasher and not communicating, asking for their help in getting Damian John to communicate with me and to get them to release my dishwasher. That was on December 3, 2025. I also sent Damian John an email alerting them to the fact that I had filed complaints against their business. One hour later, after receiving my email, on December 3, 2025, I finally get a call from Damian John, excusing themselves from any wrongdoing and I had to listen to comments such as, "our's was the only job in our area they had" and "they weren't sure they would get compensated from Miele for their work" and surprised I did not jump for joy over their phone call. I did not hire these people. Miele did. I find it disturbing that I had to threaten Damian John Installation to get them to perform. I would never do business with them again, if given the opportunity and I would recommend that if you want to hire a company that would actually care, you not hire them either. This whole situation was made worse by the arrogance and total disregard for the position Damian John Installation put me in. Excuses and total lack of communication only makes things worse. In addition, finding an address online for their company is impossible.

What blew me away was the extra care Ken and Ben from Damian John Installations brought to the job…read more They arrived on time, were highly professional, and had our new dishwasher installed and running in no time. Then, without ever being asked, they went the extra mile and fixed a cabinet door that had been plaguing our kitchen for ages. (Who does that??) This kind of thoughtfulness and attention to detail is so rare these days--it left a huge impression. If I could request Ken and Ben every time, I would. Damian John just earned a customer for life! A million thanks, truly.
