Requested brakes replaced and rotors replaced on 2004 Toyota Rav 4 . Assumed they needed done because our records show last time front brakes were replaced was in 2011 and rear in 2013 and since then 130thousand miles driven. At the end of the day we paid 174 for a complete brake flush and were told we still had 50 percent pads left front and back and only one pair of rotors would need replaced if brakes were to be done at a later time. Very honest and good quality repair. Left shop with brakes engaging much better now with fluid exchange. Highly recommend and we will be using this business in the future for both our Toyota vehicles read more

So incredible, highly recommend! Showed up last minute without an appointment for a small fix, Lance was able to squeeze me in and was so friendly and informative throughout the process. Excellent communication and speedy service. Couldn't recommend enough. read more

When my son came back home fro mbasic training we realized that his AC on his vehicle wasn't working properly, we took the car in Monday afternoon to see if we could get a diagnosis and eatimate and 2-3 hours after dropping it off they gave us a call with an estimate and repair timeframe. We told them to go ahead and they got the car fixed super fast! That A/C is so cold now we have to keep it in low. They even offer warranty on all the parts and labor! If you are looking for a reliable mechanic in the Mandarin area Pro Tech Automotive it's your spot! read more

Been taking my car to Lance for about 3 years now. He is reliable, honest and an all around great mechanic. There have been several opportunities where he's been open and honest about what needed to be fix to be able to drive the vehicle and never pushed additional services. Everything I've had done including some engine work, they've gotten my car back to me in one day. They always call as soon as it's finished and don't let it sit around. Can't recommend enough. read more

Took my Toyota Sienna to Pro Tech and Lanz made the repairs quickly. They are professional, honest and the price was very reasonable. They went above and beyond to fix my vehicle. I would recommend Pro Tech to all my family and friends. read more

We were recommended by a friend who brings his jeep here. Lance was reasonable and quick in doing a diagnostic on the jeep and determining the issue. We dropped off the jeep at 7 am and had the car back by 2 pm. Lance was able to determine the issue, order the part, and repair all in the same day. It would have been more expensive going to the jeep dealership and probably not as thorough. We are thankful to Lance for the repair and are considering coming back to him for regular maintenance. read more

I feel like everyone wants a good mechanic you can trust and I'm so happy to have met Lance and come here! I brought my car in with an AC issue he immediately knew what it was and was able to have it blasting cool crisp air again in no time! I will say they are busy all the time, so call ahead and make an appt if you need your car fixed! read more

The best mechanic I have ever found!! As a young female, I haven't been able to find somewhere that won't try to take advantage, but Lance was honest and did not try to upsell me anything! He answered all of my questions and was able to educate me so I could be more aware in the future. Also, the people in his waiting room had extremely positive things to say about his service. I definitely plan on coming back here for all my car service needs!!! read more

I decided to give this  shop a try after hearing praises from my neighbor and a coworker on the quality work Pro-Tech does. I needed to get a couple of things worked on my car (Oxygen Sensors installed and Brake Fluid flush/fill). The rate that I was quoted for and the work performed, I was extremely pleased. They even took the time to clean out my Brake Fluid Reservoir.   Lantz (the owner), is very competent and knowledgeable of cars. He is honest and provides quality work. He was even aware of my car's TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) that even I, was not aware of. I will definitely continue to do business with Pro-Tech Automotive. read more

I came here to have an aftermarket Borla exhaust system installed and they did it very well. Informed me of the fact I should come in a couple weeks later as the metal can shift from the heat so they can make minor adjustments and weld tight. The service was great, price reasonable, and very professional. Thank you! read more

I couldn't be happier with the service I received here. I made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation, to have the brakes checked because they were squeaking, and I also told them I figured the car was due for some other maintenance. I don't drive it much and that has led me to lose track of maintenance a bit. Within 2 hours of dropping it off I received a phone call that my car looked great and there was nothing more they could sell me beside the oil change and tire rotation. They explained why my brakes were squeaking, and that it was not a safety issue and not something worth investing money in right now. They told me I have enough tread on my tires for another 20K miles. I couldn't be more pleased! I feel like almost any other place would try to convince me to purchase additional services, so I truly appreciate their honesty and integrity. Highly recommend. read more

Most honest mechanic in all of Jacksonville I took my 2003 Honda Civic and he never sold me on anything I didn't need. It's nice to see there still are honest people. I highly recommend this shop and will continue to do business with them in the future. read more

My dad was a notoriously hard customer. As in, he was banned from multiple establishments for being a hardass. When I moved back to Jacksonville with my own family's aged Nissans, I was desperate to find a good place to take the cars for the 12+ year fixes that were needed. When my mom mentioned my dad had taken his car here AND had no complaints I was absolutely sold. Lance did not let me down! He's friendly, to the point, and honest. He will let you know exactly what is wrong and what it will take to fix it without any upsells or doom and gloom. It can take a week to get in for a non-emergency, but once you are in the car is turned around usually in 24 hours. I just had my A/C bite the dust (yes, in August, in Florida) but Lance had the part ordered from Nissan and in the car in a day and now the A/C blasts colder than I have ever felt it. And it was about $250 less than the Nissan dealership quoted me! I have every confidence in this guy. For the things we've had him fix, he always fixes it right the first time. read more

Finding an auto repair shop that can be trusted always causes this old girl some anxiety. NO Longer!! I have found pro-tech! Wonderful knowledgeable people, excellent fast service, good coffee, and great stories! read more

Pro-Tech is absolutely wonderful! We've been bringing our old vehicles there for a few years now. They are so nice and they have never treated me like some girl who won't understand and I've never felt like they were holding back information. They always fix what's wrong but they go beyond that too. After I started taking our cars there I found out that more than a few friends and family members also swear by the place. One of them does the repairs on his truck himself but when he's out of town he sends his wife there with her SUV. Our vehicles are old. Other places will go through with their checklists and seem to be trying to find everything they can possibly sell us. Pro-Tech will find other things wrong while doing a repair and let me know what's wrong and give me the honest facts about it rather than a sales pitch. I have actually taken one of our vehicles to another place since I started using Pro-Tech. But the problem just came back a week later and when I took it to Pro-Tech they fixed the entire problem for me. There were multiple things contributing to the problem and they fixed them and it didn't cost me an enormous amount of money. I really just can't say enough good things about them. Yeah, they're not open on the weekends. But I've learned that's not a good enough reason to go somewhere else. It's worth it to go out of our way so Pro-Tech can fix the vehicles and we aren't stuck without a vehicle again a week later. And, with as good a job as they do, they deserve weekends off. read more

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT.. Finding an honest mechanic these days is like trying to collect money door to door- for the "bring back knightrider to tv" fund, damn near impossible, BUT even knightrider would take his car to Pro-Tech Automotive. This is because the discussions are honest, to the point and provide you with what has to be done vs what needs to be done information. That is worth going for in the first place. Quality repair and affordable prices are the second reasons for bringing your business here. When you find something worth finding, spread the word ! read more

Pro-Tech Automotive saved the day! My son had car troubles just before thanksgiving and was quoted an outrageous amount at an auto chain, where he took the car first. I started researching independent mechanics in Jacksonville and found Pro-Tech online. I spoke directly with the owner and made arrangements to have the car brought to the shop. Pro-Tech diagnosed the problem the following Monday promptly and at a very fair price. Highly recommend Pro-Tech! My son will be using this shop for all his automotive needs. I'm in Fort Myers and wish we had a shop as honest and competent as Pro-Tech. Thanks again for helping us out! read more

After years of getting ripped off at my dealership, Pro-tech was recommended to me by a friend. After having work done at the Cadillac dealership, I sent Lantz an email asking him if he would give me a quote for the same repairs that were done to my car. Even though he knew the work had been done he took the time to give me a written estimate and it was approximately $600 less than what the dealership charged me. When my car died on me this week, as soon as I got it jumped I drove straight to Pro-Tech. They determined it was just the battery and called and gave me the quote before replacing it. While my car was there they noticed the tires needed rotating and did it for free! I was shocked that they needed rotating because every time I took my car to the dealership to have the oil changed I also asked for the tires to be rotated. I can't say enough about how comforting it is as a woman to have a repair shop that will not rip you off and that charges a fair price. All of my repairs and maintenance will be done at Pro-Tech from here on out. Truly an honest repair shop to do business with. read more

I had to have my brake lines completely redone and they charged me a fair price and had my truck done very quickly. Lance was extremely knowledgeable and gave me fair and honest service. I try and do most work on my own at home but anything out of skill level I will take to them. 10/10 recommend read more

I have been taking our cars to Lance at ProTech for over 15 years. He advises you of the work and likely cost of repairs. His is the most honest and reliable car repair shop I have ever dealt with and I have been getting cars repaired for decades. A few times he has done very minor work for no charge. He's that kind of guy. You won't be disappointed with his work. read more

Fast, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I took my car in for some brake work and to have them figure out why my air bag light was on. Before doing any work, I was called to hear what WAS wrong and what WASN'T wrong with the estimate of how much they fix would be. I am very happy with the work done and Pro Tech now has a new local customer because I feel that I can trust them! read more

Being new to Jacksonville, I wasn't sure where to take my car for honest service. Recently I had work done on my 2008 Ford Focus and was thrilled with the work that this shop did. I found the owner Lance to be extremely patient with my questions and super helpful in advising me in what services were most pressing on my car. This shop is awesome and I will definitely be going back. Thank you to Lance and team! read more

Pro-Tech automotive employees were very nice and professional. I felt very comfortable with their diagnosis on my car. They had to order parts but, they fixed my car and it was ready the very next day! This was the second place I'd taken my car to for a diagnosis. Their prices were just slightly higher (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). However, because of their professionalism, friendliness, speed of service, and quality of repair I will continue to take my car there for any repairs. read more

I recently found out i had an oil leak, and my A/C belt was squealing. It took a few days but Lance got me in, found the problem, and repaired my vehicle. We have been using Pro-Tech for over 10 years now and Lance is great. Honest and tells you what needs to be done to your car. Recently, I had low fuel light go on and I brought it to Ford first due to they just did the oil change a week ago. Ford told me I need to make appt. and come back in 3 days. I went to Lance the next morning, he topped off my fluid and did not charge me. Great guy and highly recommend to all my co-workers.. read more

I have taken my car here a few times for repairs (my car is 12 years old and needs maintenance about once a year). I have never had any issues and they have always been very helpful. They do not try to over sell you on anything which a lot of repair shops will. Very reasonably priced. They will even take you and pick you up from work while your car is being worked on. read more

Have been here a couple of times after getting a recommendation from a friend. Good work, fair price, and best of all; no upselling of non-essential repairs. Will continue to take my car here for maintenance and repairs. read more

I was quoted by Lance $415 (parts & labor) to replace alternator for 2007 Toyota Camry SE 4 cylinder. I was told the alternator would cost $250. I questioned him about the price and was told the alternator's that I found online from local auto parts stores were rebuilt and not re-manufactured. Since they use Napa auto parts, I looked up the part on their website and was surprised to the part listed at $179. When my car was ready, I asked Lance about the part number and price of the alternator. He told me that the part was $284. He gave me a speech about his insurance and employee costs. Then he called Napa and they told him the part was $179 as well. I ended up paying $304. He told me that the part was "listed" incorrectly by Napa in the system. Labor is also $95 an hour which is $22 an hour more than the Toyota dealership. If you like paying more than you should then by all means go there. read more
