I've been bringing my cars here for years now. I always shop price and they always have the lowest price and their turnover for work is insanely fast! I've never had to wait more than a day and I've brought my cars here several times and had some decent sized issues. Very honest will never try to sell you something you don't need. I came here solely on all the positive reviews that I read, and not a single review was wrong. It was 0745 and I knew they only opened at 8, so I just drove in planning on waiting till 8. As soon as I pulled in, I was greeted by Mike and he asked me how he could help. I told him I had a nail in my tire that I needed taken out and tire plugged. He had his guy, who was also beyond kind, come and take care of that ON THE SPOT! No haggling, no trying to sell me anything. You can tell that they value people as PEOPLE, not just customers. I would not go here ever again. I had a difficult time speaking with Mike about my insurance. I ended up going through a puddle and Hydro lock my motor. My insurance company contacted. Mike and Mike was giving my insurance company a hard time he was making everything take as long as it possibly could so he could keep the car in his shop so he could take the money from the insurance, I ended up getting my car towed out of the shop and taking to collision auto repair. My insurance recorded everything he did. He did not like that. I found that very suspicious to say the least. I would never recommend this place because of Mike and his crew. telling things to my insurance company like he didn't want to be recorded and giving me and my insurance a run around. I needed a whole new engine I have been out of a car for more weeks than necessary and I have finally got it to a place where it's going to get fixed. Save yourself the time don't go here. read more

They drove over and filled it up then I went down the street to the shop where they patched it for me, saving me on having to buy a new tire or put in a spare! I wouldn't go here if you value your car or your time. My wife dropped off her car for an alternator and within 24 hours of her having it back it starts running hot. So we call them and they say bring it back we will take a look. We attempt to bring it back and a mile from their shop it overheats. My wife calls me in a panic because she is stranded in front of a pawn shop on the north side, clearly not a place you want to be stranded if you are a female. I was parked on the side of their shop waiting for her to get there and all of a sudden a tow truck driver delivering a car to them blocks me in the road and tells me I have to wait until he is done unloading the car so I can go around him. The driver didn't care about anybody but himself as his response to me was "I'm on a time limit or then oh I got these headphones in my ear I can't hear what you are saying. The workers from the shop were just standing in front of the shop smoking carrying on a conversation with the driver (who can magically hear now) about smoking. The mechanic who was smoking his vape was talking about smoking weed with the tow truck driver since he was doing hand movements as if he was smoking a joint. I even yelled "Hey, remember me to the owner of the shop. you helped my wife with her car and now it's overheating down the road I need to get to her. He even agreed saying the tow truck driver was wrong he could have let me pass. Even saying to me "I get it it's a Monday" Clearly he did not get it. I wonder how he would feel if his wife or girlfriend was stranded and he was blocked in by an arrogant tow truck driver. Did I call the tow truck driver an asshole? Absolutely I did. So they get the car the next day because they were closed at this point and now the car has a list of problems that it did not have 2 days prior. Which if they are a certified place and knew enough that stuff would have been noticed when we brought it in for the alternator. So went in for an alternator and came out with a cracked radiator and more. so after paying 1,200 dollars we owed them like over 1,100 more. To make matters worse when picking up the car I asked if I could have the name of the company who dropped off that car and blocked me in. I was told I was acting rude and I was the asshole and they could not provide me with that info because I should have got it down that day. I'm sorry my wife being stranded and me wanting to make sure she was safe was more important than taking down a number. Long story but I wouldn't bring your car here at all! read more

I've been aware of AA Auto Repair for several years, but when the car started making a funny noise, I finally had an opportunity to test them out. Mike, the owner, introduced himself as I pulled up. I told him what the problem was, or rather, what I -thought- it was, and he said he'd look at it and give me a call in an hour or so. He offered to drop me off someplace, but I told him my office was a few miles away, and I'd just catch a cab. Sadly, the news Mike had for me was what I had feared -- the engine needs to be replaced, and given the age and condition of the car, it's just not worth it. I appreciate the fact that he didn't try to talk me into an expensive repair. Even better, when I asked him what I owed for the diagnosis, he said "no charge." The site is on the corner of 6th and Main, and there's sometimes a tight squeeze, which suggests that other folks like the work done here, as well. So, now I'm on a quest for another vehicle, and I have a good idea of where I'll take it for maintenance. read more

To put it simply, I won't go to any other mechanic besides mike as long as I'm in Jax. He's never tried to charge me for anything that I didn't need--he's even done some quick fixes without asking me for a dime. His son "junior" is also a great guy--very helpful and pleasant demeanor. My 2016 Chevy sonic is proving to be a piece of crap and since I can't trust the actual dealer I will be bringing my vehicle here first and only taking to dealer for warranty issues. Both Mikes are honest and I appreciated them letting me stop by real quick after work so I can make it in the remainder of the week hopefully. I was driving through Jax and my car started to make funny sounds, so I pulled into AA Auto repair to have it checked out. As a woman, I always feel taken advantage of because I know nothing about cars, but this was not the case here. The owner introduced himself to me, told me they would diagnose what was wrong and fix it as soon as possible to get me back on the road. He did just that, and I was back on the road driving home in a matter of hours. Not only did he fix what was wrong and give me fair prices, but he threw in some extras for free! I cannot thank them enough, and my car is still running great! I would go back there in a heartbeat. Additionally, they also own the restaurant right next to the auto-repair shop, and it is DELICIOUS! If you need to kill some time while getting something fixed, go there! I have never encounter a mechanic quite like Mike! I can honestly say he is the most trustworthy mechanic in Jacksonville. His crew are the best bunch of guys around and they genuinely care about the customer. My motor mount and bracket broke off my car last Friday night and I thought for sure it wouldn't be until Monday before someone was able to help me. I started searching for shops on Yelp and that's where I found Mike's shop. They are open Saturdays from 8a - 6p! They immediately assessed my car and explained what needed to be done. Mike is amazing and also a great person. Back in the starving to death times back in 2009 I was desperate for work and driving all over doing small jobs with a semi-dependable car....I brought it in and while he is the BEST at keeping prices down; I could not afford what was needed. He would NOT let me leave until car was running right and simply insisted I had to have new brakes. I was trying to put the brakes off to fix immediate problem, but he said no, it was too dangerous. He fixed everything I was on Food Stamps for the 1st time in my life, but I came in and paid him 50$/week every week I could until it was paid off. When have you EVER EVER met a mechanic that would do that? I'll have to stop now before I tear up and cry...you just don't meet a lot of people as good hearted as he is. Everyone I have referred to him is very satisfied and they have ALL become repeat customers.
