My M-I-L takes her car to get a smog test here yearly. Today, we were helping her out by doing it for her. The owner, Dan, is friendly and helpful. He told us the approximate time the car would be finished and we picked it up and went on our way. The cost is reasonable for the test and the certificate. The place has some parking spaces and outdoor chairs to sit in while you wait. read more

I had an excellent experience at Pro Smog with Dan. You can immediately tell Dan is a true car guy who genuinely cares about the vehicles he works on. He treats customers' cars like they're his own, and that level of care and attention is hard to find these days. His shop is always busy, but now I understand why -- customers keep coming back. You see a steady flow of returning customers and it's clear he has built his business on trust, honesty, and word of mouth. In fact, that's exactly how I found out about Dan's shop -- everyone in town seems to know about him and recommends him. Even though he was helping other customers, he acknowledged me right away and was very professional, friendly, and honest about the wait time. No surprises, no runaround -- just straightforward, honest service. The process was quick, smooth, and very reasonably priced. Excellent prices, great service, and a very honest owner. Dan is approachable, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work and his business. It's rare to find someone who is this honest, efficient, and friendly all at the same time. I highly recommend Pro Smog. There's a reason this place is always busy -- good, honest service and happy returning customers. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I've been taking my BMW to this Cat since 2019. He's professional, honest, and accommodating. Every two years, I pop up for a smog test, to have him take care of my car. Although I have a mechanic, if he notices anything out of the ordinary, he'll give me a heads up to bring the issue to my mechanic's attention. Call and make an appointment because it does get busy, and he is in demand...Put your mind at ease, go to Pro Smog on Washington - in San Leandro, Ca. read more

If your "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" is ON do not go to this guy, he will not advice you to get the problem fixed prior to get tested, instead he'll go ahead and test it, tell you it failed because the "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" is ON, charge you $66.00 tell you to get the problem taken care of and come back and he'll re-test it for an additional $30.00. When I asked him why he didn't advice me to get the problem fixed prior to test it, he claimed the State Regulations puts a lot of pressure on him, to test every car that comes into his establishment...Huh? I guess I'm bothered about the extra expense, but most of all I feel my naiveness cost me, and I hope my review will save some of you in the future...Don't forget honesty is scarce now days...! read more

Friendly and professional. Clean, well-organized facility. Fast service, too.

Terrible! $80 for a smog check on my truck, waited for 55 minutes after my truck was finally in the smog bay. Had one plastic clamp under the truck that had cracked but was still on the truck and the hose was firmly on the fuel air re-circulation container. The jerk reported it to the state and now I have to use a STAR station which will probably cost more. These guys are the worst, and for a long time San Leandro resident I hope they go out of business, I hate driving by that place on my way to work. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! RIP-OFF!!! read more
