I was putting off going into get my smog test done because I'm intimidated of these places. I showed up without an appointment midday and they let me know I would be next. Waited about 5 minutes and then was called to drive in. They were kind, easy to talk to, and I was out of there in about 10 minutes TOTAL!!! Daniel let me know he'd sent notification to DMV and have me a copy as well. 10/10 recommend! Just as a heads up, the smog testing is on the far left side, not the tire replacement shop. read more

The business does exactly what it's supposed to, a quick and efficient smog place. I walk in , I'm told there are 2 cars ahead of me. I wait, my turn comes. DJ the smog guy checks my car, it passes smog, then I pay, he tells me what happens next with the DMV, and I'm outta there! Cost me $55, a good deal. Was really happy I found this place. I was honestly trying to find a smog place where I didn't have to pay $75, which is what I've been paying for for the last couple of years. So I found this smog place, and they had a coupon online, so I only ended up paying $40 for my smog with a certificate. My smog took about 10-15 minutes, if that. Parking can be a little challenging, but they do block off parking spots for folks getting smog. They do have a waiting area inside, which is pretty nice and very accommodating. Got a $45 quote from a Doug J through Yelp so I drove to the shop which was a little difficult to find as they have no office. Spoke to Daniel and when I tried to explain my situation he said I was "saying too much" and to just say "I need a smog check". Told him I was making sure they honored the quote but he didn't believe me and wanted to see so I showed him Yelp. The smog check didn't happen and he told my to take my car but he did not latch my hood and I only realized as I was driving down mission when I picked up speed. read more

I was in need of a smog check and I found K1 Smog on Yelp, and the ratings / reviews looked promising. They were a bit difficult to find at first, as they are attached to the tire / wheel shop next door, but I am pretty sure they are separately owned. There are a few parking spaces out front for you to wait in for your turn. I called ahead and they take walk-ins / first come, first serve - I arrived on a weekday afternoon and I was 3rd in line. D.J., the technician (I believe he is the owner as well) was working on / finishing up on the 1st car and gave me about a 20ish minutes estimate. The 2nd car was getting checked and after awhile, the owner of that vehicle decided not to go through with it because her engine light was on. Anyway, I was helped in a little over 15 minutes, so the wait was not too bad. I pulled in the garage, sat down on some of the loungers he had against the wall, signed a form, and he got to work. He let me know it will take about 10 minutes, but he was done within 5 - 8 minutes, so I happily paid and was on my way. There was a check-in offer, which I did not take advantage of, as I feel like he was a small business, so it was about $56. Overall, D.J. was efficient; friendly; and quick - I highly recommend him, as he made this errand I had to do so much easier. read more

Had an incident where I needed a smog shop, quickly. Called this shop and was greeted with relatively quick service. Downside orchards parking lot with an immensely popular tire shop.
