I have been coming for years. This place is super fast and efficient. They'll do your smog while you wait.

I have been going to Chabot Smog for the last 8 years and I just went back again today. Emron is such a nice guy! He took care of my smog check very quickly. I had the $10. coupon that is on their website and my final bill was $68. I asked him for a reference for a failed smog check repairs for my elderly mother in law and he gave the name of a local place that he said he really trusted! Thank you, Emron! read more

Great service!!! I waited only for a little while. The attendant was engaged and explained no action required on my end. The information would be sent directly to DMV and I would get my registration in the mail. My only issue I had was the price. I found a lower price from another smog check location nearby. It was worth the convenience of being in the same town I live in. read more

My whole family comes here for smog. Not only is it affordable but the service is quick! I recommend always calling them in advance to check for any lines. If there 1-2 people ahead of you it's still like 15 minutes in and out. That's efficient! read more

I called before regarding getting a smog done and he took he in right away when I arrived. Quick service and I was able to get it done right before work definitely recommended coming here read more

I drove in today for a smog check on my 2005 Honda Civic. He is so friendly and nice. Also super quick. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. No appointment needed. This happened when I had to get my smog check done 2 years ago too. Always such great service! Only thing is the price went up a bit compared to 2 years ago. But I guess that is everything in life now. Lol. Still 5 stars in my eyes. Best smog check in the area. :) read more

Fast and cheap. No complaints. Hours posted on line were accurate and staff was courteous. In and out in less than 25 minutes.

I have been going to this guy for over 10 years. I highly recommend Emran! He is very knowledgeable and easy going. Most smog shops do not last this long in the industry (I am a former BAR rep and I have been to many repair and smog shops). read more

I've been coming here for 10 years and always had the best service provided! Quick easy affordable and amazing.

I took my car in for a smog check and was warmly greeted. I briefly spoke with the owner and found out I was a repeat customer at his other location many years ago. He moved his business and I am now a customer of the business again. Great price and job completed in less than 15 minutes. Also, there is a check in offer available. Highly recommend! read more

This place is easy to miss. But very nice and respectful. Pretty quick descent prices

My friend suggested Chabot Smog, so I thought I would give them a try. I came for a smog test on my 2000 GMC 2500 pickup truck, no appointment, just drove into the lot in the afternoon. Really excellent service, there were some potential issues identified, all of which were clearly and carefully explained before I agreed to the test. The price was competitive with other smog vendors. I passed, and all is good, thankfully. He has a very comfortable couch in the waiting area. Very affable guy. Highly recommended. Wow, so quick! I am not sure what the going rate for a basic smog is but this price seemed reasonable. (reasonable considering it's California and everything is expensive LOL). I called ahead to see if there was a wait and unfortunately 2 people got there before me. It only took about 25 minutes total even with the 2 people in front. Super friendly and quick turn around. Would highly recommend and in fact did to 2 co-workers when I got back. read more

We went Thursday morning 3/6 for a smog and the gentleman helping us was very friendly and helpful! Good price and customer service is a win for me! We will definitely be using them again read more

Good.... It was easy to make an appointment for my smog check. Once I arrived. it was a quick in and out.

I came in to get my scheduled smog check and I think I was SCAMMED. It was a quick smog check and everything was good. After I paid, went to my car to leave and it would not start. I went back in and asked the owner, "what did you do with my car?" He directs me to the auto shop right behind his garage. They checked and tell me it will cost $1700 for parts and labor for repairs. I am stunned ...My car was working fine when I got there. The car passed the smog and engine check and then suddenly does not work. I opted to tow my car to my mechanic friend and he tells me that 2 wires look as if they were tampered with (he said, they look burnt). He told me having 1 wire burned out is a possibility; but to have both (at the same time) is nearly impossible. He tells me scams like this happen all the time. They would mess with your car and direct you to a specific auto shop. Also, while waiting for the tow truck, I noticed that the smog place had 2 signs advertising the very same auto shop he recommended me to go to on the back and side of his garage. These scams may not happen often, but I wonder if this happened to someone else. I would warn everyone to be careful. From now on, I will be watching the person as they work on my car. I will never come back to this place. Again, my car was absolutely working fine before I brought it in. Beware and be safe. TY read more

I've been going there every year for last 8 years for both of my vehicles. Emran, the owner, is efficient, personable and the wait is just right. I won't go anywhere else. read more

The friendliest place to get your car smog checked. They didn't let us waste our money when they knew it would fail from the check engine light. 10/10 would come here again if I needed another smog check. read more

Stopped by without appointment. They told me it would be 30 minutes because they had one car before me and timing was accurate.

I went in this morning for a smog check, so that we could complete a vehicle purchase transaction. Emran was extremely professional, kind and was able to get my smog done in 15 minutes. Will be bringing our other vehicle here for smog as well! I highly recommend coming to Chabot smog for your smog check needs! Also, in case you're like me and forget to bring things you need... check out the photo attached. read more

I was bummed to see a smog test was needed on my car renewal registration. Working Monday-Friday, I usually have to get my car stuff done on the weekends, so I needed to find a place open on a Saturday. Thankfully Chabot Smog was open! It's easy to miss, but know that it's in between the car wash and the Convenience store on Lake Chabot Road. Emran was friendly and there was only one other guy in front of me getting his car done, so I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Also know that they give you $10 off if you check in on Yelp, so I definitely took advantage of that! My car passed and the results were sent to the DMV and was all taken care of when I renewed a few days later. I'd definitely come back next time I have a smog test due! read more

Always great service. Usually, I drop the car off and then come back later cause they have a queue. This time, they started immediately and were done within 20min. read more

I've been going here for years. I was going to him when he worked somewhere else. Let me tell you, he is about as honest as honest gets. Tried to quick fix my car when it wasn't gonna pass smog. Didn't charge me and said bring it back when you think it will pass. Also other numerous times looked through my car and tried to actually figure out why wouldn't pass so he could send me somewhere to get it fixed correctly. No one does that anymore. Give this man your business because you'd be a fool to go elsewhere. read more

Always courtesy, fast, friendly. Price for pre-1999 cars to smog check is high so you may want to shop around. read more

Most efficient smog check I've ever done. Went there 10 minutes after opening, greeted nicely by the employee, took my car right away. Called for an appointment, got in same day, comfortable waiting room, friendly staff, efficiently done. Nice experience overall! If you have an older vehicle, probably a good thing to call ahead to confirm what the charges will be and how you can save some money by preparing before you go. Pre 2000 model year vehicles pay extra! I do believe the state would like to see all of these vehicles retired. read more

Quick and easy, in and out in 15 mins! Nice waiting area. $58 with $10 off coupon on Yelp.

Went in for a smog check. Sign on the door says 8AM-5PM. Got tired of waiting and left at 8:05. No respect for other's time.

I've used Chabot smog for two checks now. Both times the services were completed quickly and efficiently.

I was cutting it close, trying to get a smog check and turn in my forms before the registration due date. I called a few places and this one was the most promising, telling me that they had time (and, unlike other places, didn't require me to leave my car for a few hours. Mama's got $#*+ to do!) I'd come back. Friendly, reasonable and professional. Hits all the marks! read more
