I was looking at "Arbor Age Tree Services" However, Chris was fully booked for a long while. (¬､¬) He referred me to Emilio that was with "Green View Landscape and Tree Service", but had to get in contact with Priscilla since she manages everything. (_) Priscilla is very nice and even went out her way to contact me first! (Which is awesome!) d(-_^) It's cool Chris was able to tell them about the predicament I was in. (ﾟﾟ) I really wanted this done as sooooon as possible, if possible! We set up a Schedule and they even came earlier than expected! It's a good thing I was up earlier than the estimated time! Although they had equipment issues, once they brought in a newer grinder. They knocked out those... ( ｪ ) PEASKY PALM TREE STUMPS!!! I hate it!!! So anyways... Green View def does whatever it takes to get the job done. We have a tree removal/stump grind and I had bids from several companies. GVL was the least expensive so based on yelp confidence I went for it. They came a few days later and got it done. Super honest feedback: Good stuff: you couldn't even tell I had a tree removed because they left the area so clean. Even my neighbors said they saw nothing in the yard after GVL left. They took initiative and only cared about the end goal; very nice, polite and hard working. Could have been better: they took out a very large bush without asking that doesn't belong to me (during the bid we could have discussed); they started before 8am (against community policy) on a weekend and before I got there at 7:55am. They were a good 20 min into the work; there was a 3% credit card fee which isn't a big deal but worth mentioning; their guys left their gas station breakfast trash all around. Overall, I would recommend - I would just set some clear expectations up front because the boss wasn't at my job (it was under $1000) so I felt like the guys were just doing the best they could with 3rd party info from the guy who wrote the bid. read more

We met Jorge a few months ago. We needed some brush/cleanup work done in our new home in Valley Center. Prepping for fire season and really looking for a partner to help us maintain our property. This business should be run out of town on a rail. They were to deliver a load of mulch via Chip Drop yesterday. When the driver called shortly before delivery, I asked whether it would be possible to deliver to another address, and I described where that was (8 miles/15 minutes max from the first place, but he was not there yet). The driver had me text the address, checked it on his map with me still on the phone, and said yes, that would be fine. I texted that we wanted to reimburse him the Chip Drop fee - he texted back that he would send it as soon as they "stopped by." A half hour later (whaat?), he "Loved" another text I sent. I called to see how it was going, and he said he was en route - strange because he should have arrived by then. Two hours later I texted again, no response. And there has been no communication from him since. I had organized a whole crew to spread the mulch today - arrived to find there was no mulch. I called the number he had called from and got his boss. Who said he didn't know what happened and would check. I was pretty furious and used an expletive or two. The boss never called back, and he had the audacity to LIE to Chip Drop - I got an email from Chip Drop quoting him as saying (sic) "different address sent by costumer driver said it was far from project." Bullhickeydoowah. Nothing could be further from the truth, and I have the texts to prove it. (I've let Chip Drop know about this as well). If the driver had simply said no, they could not change course, fine, that would have been the end of it. But no, he was not able to muster that decency and actually strung me along. These people are liars and clearly have no respect for the people they are supposedly serving. Beware. read more

BEST DECISION I EVER MADE FOR MY TREES!!! I searched for 9 months for a knowledgeable company to take on my 41 200ft tall Eucalyptus tree trimming. Yes that's right... 41 200ft tall trees!!! These trees hadn't been maintained for 10+ years and I knew I needed to be very particular on who got the job. Over the course of 9 months I had 15+ companies from Orange County I found through yelp come out to give estimate and assessments of the trees. I felt none of them were good enough for the job. Then I expanded my search to San Diego County. I called a smaller tree company through yelp and they recommended Green View Landscape & Tree Service! Even before I could call them, I got a call and text from their estimate coordinator- as the smaller company passed my info along. Within hours Rafael was at the property giving an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and based on their recommendation and experience I knew they were the perfect company to take on this ginormous job. They were able to start within a few days and had a solid professional crew of guys. Watching the main climber go up the 200ft trees was truly a site to be seen. Everything was very well taken care of and professionally handled. Each day the guys came bright and early, working their asses off with only a break for lunch. I was beyond impressed from start to finish. Also each day either Ismael or Rafael would be on site supervising making sure everything was going smoothly as well. It was nice to see how involved they are in their company! As with any giant job like this I was shocked to see only a few small things were broken during this whole process- a couple landscape lights, a piece of wood on a storage shed was chipped and some fencing was bent. Without any hesitation, it was all fixed and better than it was before. I had also been planning on replacing 220ft of fencing but hadn't pulled the trigger with other companies I had gotten quotes from. During the tree trimming I was chatting with Ismael and Rafael about the fence. Got a quick quote and had them replace all the fencing after the trees were done. The fence turned out even better than I could've expected and I'm so impressed with the quality of workmanship and precision on this fence install. Everything was industrial grade (per my request) and it is night and day compared to the fence before! All said and done, they will have my business for life and my neighbors have already hired them on for their properties as well. We were so impressed with their promptness and professionalism, that we scheduled an appointment with Nacho to give us an estimate to change the hardscape and flow of our entire backyard. I had Green View lay decomposed granite, install a new micro irrigation system and plant some plants.I hate to leave a bad review since Jorge seemed nice and knowledgeable and the crew worked hard. However, shortly after they completed the job, I noticed that a section of hose was strating to come up through the decomposed granite, and that one of the plants was beginning to die because it was not getting water. I texted Jorge and he said he would be out "next week." After a couple of weeks, I texted again and he said he would be out "Thursday." This went on throughout the summer and into the fall and winter. In the meantime, nearly all of the irrigation system is now exposed and the plant that was not getting water is long gone. I realize that we are in difficult times, but it has been nearly a year since we hired Green View without having this issue being fixed. When I hired Green View, I had other bids but went with them because it is a bigger company. I thought that it would be easier to resolve any potential problems. It looks like I was wrong. read more

Update-- much much better now that the irrigation and front yard is fixed. Sprinklers finally work now after replacing nozzles, a valve that was malfunctioning, and doing some minor adjustments to the system. So in short, sprinklers can now be set on a timer AUTOMATICALLY woot woot! Yeah we had to run the system manually and it was a pain. The grass is no longer patchy and if it wasn't so dang hot outside right now I'd take an updated photo. No more dead grass, random mushrooms/fungi growing, and less HOA complaints (honestly they gripe a lot about many things anyway) haha. I do like that George does do a lot of follow-ups to the house after certain jobs and projects are finished so that we have complete satisfaction. I'm still meh about the whole not coming by sometimes when he says he will since it means being home (or attempting to be awake after working a night shift)-- just a little annoying is all. I mean it's like having an appointment and not showing up. I'm just saying and that's my two cents about it. If you can't come by, a notification would be great. read more

It started out great. I called them based on reviews and someone was able to come out only a few days later. Ismel came and was very helpful. He came on a Monday and said he could do the work that Friday. I asked for a written proposal first as a safe guard. He said it would be emailed that day. Fast forward a week later (following Monday) and I called the office about the proposal. Ismel said it would be sent that day. Fast forward over a week after that (2+ weeks after the initial quote) and I still don't have a quote. I guess they don't need the business OR they didn't want to send a written quote so they could do the work and then charge me more than quoted. Who knows but not worth your time. read more

UPDATE - After pursuing this further, because they never called us back about the oil spill, we finally figured out how to get someone on the phone from Green View. We basically called their sales line. No surprise, the boss answered that phone line immediately. Anyway, he apologized and said he would send a few guys to clean the oil the next day. The next day at 8AM they came and cleaned up the oil. Unfortunately, while they did a good job, because so much time had elapsed the concrete socked up a much of the oil and there is still a stain. That will be there for months and there really isn't thing more that can be done. But it-is-what-it-is and once I was able to get a hold of the boss and they did send someone out to clean.. I still don't know why they tried to cut down my tree, or why they made the mess and took off.. Anyway, I've updated my score... but this could have been a major disaster had they cut my tree down. ___________Original Review___________ There are several serious red flags with this operation, but the most damaging issue was that they spilled oil all over the sidewalk and took off (luckily they were caught on camera). The nightmare started at 8AM on a Saturday Morning. I woke up hearing their large trucks rumbling and backing up several times with their loud backup warning beeps.. I didn't think much of it, you know, just the neighbors getting some tree work done. But it was very odd when they were walking on my yard looking at MY tree. I thought perhaps they were just trying to drum up additional work by seeing if my tree needed to be trimmed too. When one of the workers began climbing up my tree with a chainsaw at his side I rushed out and asked them what the hell they were doing!! At first they insisted they were at the right house, simply blaming "John" who was the person in charge. Long-story-short, they finally said sorry and admitted this was a huge mistake on their side. But what reputable tree service will cut down an un-flagged tree in the first place? I was literally a minute away from losing my tree! But that's not why I'm writing this review. While they were setting up outside on the street they spilled a bunch of their chainsaw oil all over the sidewalk. This wasn't a small stain, this was a huge spill ( see picture). They saw the spill (see picture ), then they quickly sped away leaving the oil mess behind ( see picture ).. Oil doesn't just evaporate and it will takes months for it to be absorbed into the concrete. Don't even get me started about the liability of the slippery oil. read more

We received an evaluation from someone on a Friday afternoon. I was told the actual estimate would be in no later than the next Wednesday. On Thursday we still hadn't heard anything and I tried messaging the company. They continued to tell me the estimate would be in soon and to expect a call from the person who did the evaluation. I wanted to be able to write an excellent review for this company. The workers are very nice people as are the owners. That said, the quality of the work was disappointing and the communication throughput the project was lacking. Most contacts were made by me to them, rather than the reverse. Timelines were non-existent. The cement work edge is not close to straight so we had to purchase large potted plants to cover up the uneven edge. Plants we're left in the Sun for a week before being planted. Two holes in the new irrigation lines caused water to be released in geysers rathe than water other plants below the leaks. One of the leaks was plugged with a stick and not repaired properly. The list goes on. Good people; shoddy work. read more

Excellent job, professional work. Timely in the scheduling of the job, arrival on day of job, and in the completion of work. I was referred to Ismael after having another tree service (also great) who had a several month wait. I was cautious at first because we were having a number of trees removed and stump-ground in front, but we have a huge and unwieldy ficus on the back that had grown out of control. I did not want the ficus topped-off like a lot of ficus trees I've seen that look like someone got chain-saw happy and left a bunch of stump branches. I sent Ismael pictures, and he understood exactly what I wanted. On the day of, the crew including Ismael arrived early and ready to work. He went over everything we already discussed, including the pictures of what I did and didn't want. I asked for 5' crown reduction, lace out to let air and light through the tree, removal of deadwood, and a natural rounded shape. His crew climbed and did thoughtful pole-trimming and gave it the natural, thinned and laced look that I wanted -- which takes more time and effort. They even offered to go to the neighbor's yard to clean up any loose branches or debris (but the neighbor wasn't home at the time). Ismael is professional and responsive and reliable. We would request his services again in no time. See pictures. We we referred to Ismael by an arborist that was recommended by the University of California advice line, He was booked but gave use Ismael's information. He saved out large Cypress tree after diagnosing it with bark beetles and fungus. His crew later came back and pruned our trees including a very tall palm. It was high quality work. What I really enjoyed about his crew (and this says a lot about the company) is that they were friendly, hard-working and seemed to sincerely like working together. Wo happy to have found them. Short version: Trusting Jorge because of our previous experience with him, I paid in full on the first day. He never finished the job. Now, about three weeks later, he does not return my text messages (texting has been our primary mode of communication from day one). Photos attached (sorry they are not in order - uploading mixed them all up - but they are labeled). Long version: Based on our fantastic previous experience with Jorge and his crew at Green View Landscape and Tree Services, we hired them again, about three weeks ago, to come trim all our trees, take out a few, and rake and clean up our eucalyptus grove floor that had too much fire-dangerous, accumulated debris. Unfortunately, this time around, our experience has been completely the opposite of fantastic. What was supposed to be a one-day job is still not complete almost three weeks later, and Jorge has not responded to any of my texts for a while now. As he walked our property with me, I made a record of what Jorge would do and how much it would cost us. I will include photo documentation with this updated review. The first day his crew came, their chipper broke and they were unable to complete the job. Jorge assured me they would come back the very next day and then proceeded to ask me, earnestly, if I would pay him up front since, as he claimed, he had payroll looming and most of his commercial accounts were slow to pay. I had only ever had reason to trust Jorge, so I went ahead and paid him, in full, without hesitation. The next day, Jorge's crew did not show up. I texted him later in the day and he said he was unable to acquire the working chipper as promised, but that they would definitely be back the following day (Friday). We were going to be hosting a large gathering that day and I told Jorge folks were arriving by 1pm. He assured me they could finish by 11am. Sure enough, they were all cleared out by about noon and we hosted our gathering with no issues. However, after they left that Friday at noon, I walked our property to check out Jorge and his crew's handiwork. To my dismay, I discovered that the apricot tree in the grove had not been trimmed as agreed and the eucalyptus grove floor had been left unfinished, with large debris piles raked together in some areas and the floor completely untouched in other areas. I texted Jorge at noon and he did not respond. On Monday, I texted him again and he responded that they would come out Friday or Saturday to finish. That's a week after they promised to be finished. I texted Jorge Friday to confirm they would be coming. No response. I texted Jorge Saturday to see if they would be coming. No response. And the last text I sent him was Tuesday to share with him my disappointment at his unprofessional treatment. No response. Next step: I will be filing a complaint against Green View Landscape and Tree Services with the Better Business Bureau as well as contacting my bank to see about disputing the portion of monies I paid Jorge for services that were never rendered. Moral: Just beware. Jorge is a super nice guy, but if you decide to engage his services, do not pay until your job is completed in its entirety. I don't know what happened, but I can guess that maybe the job ended up taking longer or being more work than he anticipated and so, rather than responsibly finishing that to which he attached his honor and integrity when our agreement was struck, he took my money and bolted, leaving us with a mess we have neither the time to clean up ourselves nor the extra money to pay (again) to have cleaned up. read more

The young lady I spoke with was helpful and nice. We set an appointment for a few days later at 10am. 45mins prior to my appointment I got a call saying that they had double booked and no one would be able to come and give me a quote. Frustrating, since I rearranged my schedule, but not the end of the world. Things come up, and I understand that. So we rescheduled for 4 days later at the same time... 10am. 20 minutes before my 2nd appointment, I get call saying that no one will be able to come and meet me to give me a quote. I had rearranged my schedule again to make this happen. I informed them I was not interested in rescheduling and that I was going to take my business elsewhere. It's a shame... Rafael and team were wonderful to work with for some recent landscaping at our house. He was very responsive via text and phone call and him and his team were very professional throughout. They graded part of our yard, redid our drip system for perimeter plants, installed plants I picked out from Briggs Nursery, installed a conduit system for our low voltage lighting, and installed new rock / gravel. We were hoping to have all of this done before a family event and Rafael and team made that happen and we are so grateful. When they were finished, I was shown each drip for each plant to show it was working, and same with each light. Will definitely be using them for any future landscaping needs. read more

This time they came out for both my residence as well as business on the same day which was amazing. They trimmed several trees, removed a fungus palm tree, and ground down many stumps so I can have turf installed a few days later. Not only was their pricing the best, but the professionalism as well as quality to detail impeccable. They spent about 6 hours on my project, and I could not be happier. Next time I will just have them come out directly vs wasting time with several quotes since I ended up using them twice now. Green View had the best quote for removing two small trees from our property. They kept their appointment time and removed the trees swiftly. They kept the noise to a minimum and used protective drop clothes to keep debris from breaking windows or damaging the house. They also get a great job tearing up the stumps. Update for May 2019: Half my sprinkler system stopped working even though I could still turn it on manually. Turns out they just left the wires hooking the sprikers up to the timer buried in dirt exposed so the wires built up mud and stopped making a connection. We hired Green View for 3 different jobs in the last year. The first time, they did a great job of weeding the property. This year, we hired them to weed again, to inspect and make repairs to our sprinkler system and to trim some mature ivy on the property. We also needed them to remove obsolete metal pipes and to remove tall spray irrigation and replace them with drip irrigation. Last year, they seemed willing to go above and beyond to work with us. This year, not so much. They initially gave us an estimate that wasn't very detailed. I asked them to re-write it with more detail and they did. We had estimates from three companies. They weren't the least expensive and they weren't the highest bid. Based on our previous experience, we decided to hire them. They didn't remove the metal pipes. I had to ask them to. There were also areas that were left without irrigation that had it previously. I pointed this out during the job and they still left those areas without irrigation. They also used inadequate materials and skipped using necessary coupling and anchors to keep the drip irrigation from rupturing and leaking. A few days after they left we starting having issues with sprinklers popping and shooting water into the air. There were also several areas where the sprinklers were continually leaking. I let them know and they promised to come out and make things right. In the meantime, we fixed the worst areas on our own. We had problems with them coming out when they said they would, some due to the weather and some due to them continually changing their schedule. When they did come out, they dug up one of the sprinkler pipes in the front yard, inspected the other areas and then left. It was like that for several days before they finally came out and supposedly fixed everything. We still have trouble with the sprinkler system. One valve that should have been replaced wasn't. They want 2x as much as the original estimate to fix the one valve. To me, I feel they are doing this to justify a much more expensive overhaul that isn't needed. With regard to the weeding, they did a pretty good job. However, the supervisor for the job said they would do additional "detail work" and they never did that. They did do a good job of trimming the ivy, although I had to supervise that as well to make sure they did what they promised in the estimate. We have a lot of additional work for a landscape company. We asked Green View for an estimate to install some drainage over 2 weeks ago and never received it. We have no choice now but to hire a different company to fix the broken valve that they should have and I won't be using them in the future. read more

I'm posting this one year later because I'm afraid the guy who did the job would threaten my safety, since the guy who worked at green view just walked into my backyard without knocking on my door, and I installed security camera ever since. many plants in my backyard they pruned heavily like a butcher had died! They have no idea how to care for plants, they just cut down! I would give them zero star if I could. I used Green View in 2020 in March. They seem to get quite much job in my neighborhood. I cannot believe their review here on Yelp, and later realize that it was mostly good reviews a few years ago, but their recent reviews have been pretty bad. The take home point is that don't use them if you want a beautiful looking yard, because their butcher-style tree whacking with no sense of detail-orientedness will not add much value to your yard. Dealing with their project lead Jorge with his unprofessional attitude is just lots of drama and unwanted consequences. Unprofessional: Before the job gets started, I wrote down a list to work to be done according to my conversation with Jorge, and sent the list to his office to create a formal quote, because I was afraid of any miscommunications and verbal is not legally binding. I was waiting for him to provide a formal quote before the job starts. I scheduled job to be started on Friday, but Jorge sent his crew and intruded my property and started working while nobody was at home! He did not respond to my request for formal quote. His crew did half of the work on Thursday and said they would come back next Tuesday, but I want to revise some work details in the request not cutting down some vines in the side yard. They also did not remove grass by taking out the root as I requested. I requested reducing the price from the initial quote. Jorge initially was not willing to reduce the price, and he refused that he agreed to the list that I wrote down. He said he did not agree to remove the ground covering vines initially. That's why I told him that we should had reviewed the list before he started the job.  Their crew does not have hedge trimmer and they were using a pair of scissors cutting my bushes, and I offered to lend my hedge trimmer to them. Their bush cutting was so ugly, and I don't think it worth the money that was spent.  Not detail-oriented: His crew did not completely remove the dietes plants as I requested, and there are still quite a few here and there. They also did not do a thorough job cleaning up after finishing the work. Payment: Jorge did not mention anything about extra charges when I first asked him about paying with credit card. He said there was no difference. After the job was done, I said I would pay by credit card, then he said there would be  2.5% credit card fee. They also demand to pay right away even their invoices say payment term 7 day. read more
