The crew -- Luis, David, and Lefty -- were some of the friendliest and professional people I've worked with. Special shout-out to Dave, who went above and beyond. Unlike many others, he's very hands-on and visited me multiple times (despite a long drive) to make sure I was happy with everything. When there was a misunderstanding of how I wanted the ductwork designed, he happily redid the entire system without hesitation and ensured every concern was addressed until I was fully satisfied. We've contracted with SolHome on several projects over the years. SolHome repaired our solar system and also expanded it with additional panels and new technology inverters. As part of that project they also brought our electrical panel up to present day code. More recently we contracted with SolHome to have our roof replaced. I had SolHome replace my gas water heater with a much more efficient and ecofriendly heat pump water heater. They also installed an Electric Vehicle charger for me. We Build San Diego has completed several home improvement projects for me over the past 10 years, including: remodeling my garage into a livable space, installing an attic platform, insulation in my ceiling and south/west walls, all new windows and 2 new doors, repairing/replacing damaged window jambs and sills, new air conditioning system with ductwork, replacing the plumbing in my main bathroom/shower, removing a crumbling brick veneer and planter attached to the front of my house and replacing with a stucco veneer, and most recently rewiring a portion of my house. The reason I keep rehiring them, instead of going elsewhere, is I know they'll do an excellent job, and complete the job in a timely fashion. April 2021 Well it has been nearly 2 years since our last remodel (bathroom - see review for that project below) and when it came time to remodel our kitchen, we got some quotes but in the end we decided to go with We Build San Diego for our kitchen remodel! Now that the kitchen has been completed we are pleased that we picked WBSD again to do the work! We got a different crew this time but again the professionalism shown by Lane, Charlie, Jason, Troy were top notch! The crew were extremely punctual, always on time exactly to the minute every morning at 7AM. They work hard days and whenever there was a decision to be made (small or large), they would always call us into the kitchen to ask us how we wanted things done instead of just "assuming" we might like something and just making the decision themselves. The crew were again very respectful of our house, space, and time. Since both my wife and I are working from home these days, they accommodated us when we had meetings or if we had to ask for no loud construction/demolishing noises during our meetings. Periodically over the project Troy the project manager would stop by and make sure everything was in order and if we needed any modifications, requests, suggestions, etc.. he would work with the crew to get it done. The kitchen turned out lovely and we are please with the whole experience again with WBSD! (before/after photos attached!) To be honest, now that the project is over, we are sad to see the crew go (This is how you can tell you made the right choice in selecting the company/people to do the work!). We miss the pizza/mexican lunch parties we had every week with the crew as we sat and got to know them better and a chance to go over any project details with them. I guess the only solution to that is to have WBSD come back out for future projects we have in mind (garage, patio, etc) when the time is right. I would not hesitate to recommend the company if you are looking to do a remodel or have some house renovation needs. May/June 2019 After some searching, my wife and I decided to have We Build San Diego redo our master bath. They are a joy to work with. Dave was very flexible with scheduling and worked with us when we had to twice change start dates. He also followed up with us periodically during the project to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The crew are AWESOME, both Justin and Donny were great workers, they showed up on time and most importantly cleaned up after their work at the end of each day. They were very respectful of our property and house and always kept us in the loop on the work done. They have a great work ethic and good personalities and sense of humor. As a bonus, we have a full fledge lemon tree in our back yard with too many lemons, Justin offered to make us a pitcher of his special homemade lemonade! We came home one day to a cold pitcher of EXCELLENT lemonade in our fridge! On top of that he also cleaned up after himself and the kitchen supplies that he used. Reading through other postings and must say I echo every positive comment. When we first sat down with Dave, everything was so perfect, I hesitated, thinking, "this guy can't be real." Well, happy to report he is, as is Troy, and every other professional on their highly skilled and creative team. Remodeling our bathroom / shower was something needed, but also dreaded. We made some significant changes, but they were able to blend old with new which left us with a beautiful and cohesive look while staying within our budget. We are so pleased with the beautiful, functional outcome, but just as important to us, we were pleased with the whole process. From the very beginning, Dave truly listened to what we wanted and he communicated honestly and openly about what was realistic, what was not, and what his professional recommendations were. I love how my bath and shower turned out! Dave and his team demolished my old 80s porcelain baths and replaced it with my tile picks and they are now beautiful. Dave is very detail oriented with his work and made sure that all tiles are straight and aligned perfectly. He also seemed technically sound in his analysis of proper tile placement technique and terminology. Another important factor when choosing a contractor in which he exceeded my expectations is his reliability and quick responses.
