After removing it, the technician spilled an entire bottle of dark polish over my clothes and shoes, damaging expensive items. As I stood there covered in polish, with my clothes ruined, the manager would not even make eye contact. No one apologized, acknowledged the damage, or offered to reimburse me. I've since tried to contact the owner and have been given the runaround. This is penny wise and pound foolish. An apology and reimbursement would have gone a long way. Instead, they've lost a loyal customer.

That being said, 4 U Nails & Spa in Cresskill NJ is a winner. The place is surgical clean and orderly. You never see a speck of anything, they are rabid about cleanliness. I get my gel mani done once a month and when I say it lasts -- if my nails didn't grow as quickly as they do (I think menopause sped them up lol) I could go even longer. But at 4 weeks, the grow-in is obvious and I don't like the way they look. I don't get them done because they are wrecked, I get them done monthly to change up the color and be pampered a bit. Funny story: last Saturday I was getting my gel mani and looked down the line and saw every client had picked some shade of pink. I had earlier switched my choice from a gorgeous turquoise to an OPI pink. We all laughed that it was the last mani of Summer. Come Fall, the colors are killer: deep metallic wines, sapphires, jades, the mattes are also stunning. Now I think I will go every 3 weeks, just to try all the colors. The technicians are friendly, but don't expect deep conversations; some aren't conversant in English, but all are stunningly polite. Two TVs are usually showing food network or animal planet, which is just fine. I leave my phone in my purse and just enjoy some quiet time. Pedis also last a long time, and the leg massages are wonderful; I just don't get them as often as my mani; maybe I should. Not the bottom of the pricing chain. The gel mani runs $35, and I tip 20%. But, you get what you pay for. And 4 U Nails delivers every time. Call and book an appointment.

I went second time. They try to rush me into picking the color, I didn't mind. Then I started with pedicure. A new costumer walked in and needed a pedicure so she left me half way through to Athens to the new costumer. But someone else took over (the front desk person). This person also did my manicure but skipped so many steps such as soaking your fingers in the water and removing the cuticles from the edges. So basically she started putting nail polish on my dry nails right away. I honestly didn't have the energy to tell them how to do their job, so I let it be. Last thing was cherry on top. She charged me for my manicure and pedicure, which is fine. Then I gave cash tip. She asked me "is this only for me or both of us." I find this ridiculous that you want me to tip both of you. I said both and left. It's better to keep the costumer coming by providing a good service instead of worrying about petty tips.

Since I'm so particular, when I find a nail tech I stick with them and Joonie is the absolute best! I can bring her any inspo photo and she's able to recreate the look or I let her have free range and I'm never worried. I was so impressed with my pedicure experience at this nail salon. I'd say it was probably the best pedicure experience I've had in bergen county. As for my gel manicure, Silvia did an incredible job making sure my nails were perfectly done. I was so so happy that she was able to do my nails without any lumps, bubbles, streaks or nips appearing. Those were all issues I've had in the past with other salons, but not at Stellar! She was super precise and shaped my nails so well too! A perfect gel manicure, just for $35. Also the color selection was the best I've seen!
