After removing it, the technician spilled an entire bottle of dark polish over my clothes and shoes, damaging expensive items. As I stood there covered in polish, with my clothes ruined, the manager would not even make eye contact. No one apologized, acknowledged the damage, or offered to reimburse me. I've since tried to contact the owner and have been given the runaround. This is penny wise and pound foolish. An apology and reimbursement would have gone a long way. They are incredibly clean, have a GIANT selection of both regular nail polish colors as well as gel colors. Their staff is also amazing. Everyone is super friendly and highly skilled. Even if you don't have a "regular" nail tech that you go to, any person working there will do your nails perfectly. That being said, 4 U Nails & Spa in Cresskill NJ is a winner. The place is surgical clean and orderly. You never see a speck of anything, they are rabid about cleanliness. I get my gel mani done once a month and when I say it lasts -- if my nails didn't grow as quickly as they do (I think menopause sped them up lol) I could go even longer. But at 4 weeks, the grow-in is obvious and I don't like the way they look. I don't get them done because they are wrecked, I get them done monthly to change up the color and be pampered a bit. Funny story: last Saturday I was getting my gel mani and looked down the line and saw every client had picked some shade of pink. I had earlier switched my choice from a gorgeous turquoise to an OPI pink. We all laughed that it was the last mani of Summer. Come Fall, the colors are killer: deep metallic wines, sapphires, jades, the mattes are also stunning. Now I think I will go every 3 weeks, just to try all the colors. The technicians are friendly, but don't expect deep conversations; some aren't conversant in English, but all are stunningly polite. Two TVs are usually showing food network or animal planet, which is just fine. I leave my phone in my purse and just enjoy some quiet time. Pedis also last a long time, and the leg massages are wonderful; I just don't get them as often as my mani; maybe I should. Not the bottom of the pricing chain. The gel mani runs $35, and I tip 20%. She was super gentle and focused on all the details when taking care of my toes, I really appreciated it! Plus, a lavender soak (or lemon or green tea- your choice!), short leg/foot massage, and some callous removal are all included in the regular pedicure deal, which is just $25! I was so impressed with my pedicure experience at this nail salon. I'd say it was probably the best pedicure experience I've had in bergen county. As for my gel manicure, Silvia did an incredible job making sure my nails were perfectly done. I was so so happy that she was able to do my nails without any lumps, bubbles, streaks or nips appearing. Those were all issues I've had in the past with other salons, but not at Stellar! She was super precise and shaped my nails so well too! A perfect gel manicure, just for $35. Also the color selection was the best I've seen!
