I came in for a full set and pedicure. Sonney I believe was the guy who did it. I got there at 12:45 in the afternoon and left at 3. Almost what felt like 3hrs there breathing in a bunch of dust. He took so long I was starting to feel exhausted. I was in disbelief at how long it was taking him to do something so simple. He was very harsh with my nails legit felt like he was throwing them. He seemed angry as soon as I said regular polish instead of gel. Which is 25$ extra. I showed him a picture of a design I wanted and told me he would try. Furthermore he restarted my nails almost 3 times because he couldn't do a design. And they kept telling me the only way to do a design was with no chip and I've never been to a salon that has told me that. After all the trouble I finally told him just to stop and do one solid color which was the last thing I wanted to do. He did it so fast and so bad I could tell he was frustrated with himself. I was so exhausted I just wanted to leave. My nails came out so horrible and I told Tim at the front desk who acted like they weren't bad and went on to tell me that sonney is very very slow. He said he could give me 5$ off and I said okay. I was so tired I just wanted to leave but I ended up calling him again and asking for my money back and he said he could only give me 35. I would never in a million years recommend this place. How can someone pretend to not see such a horrible bad nail job and still try to charge the customer I wasted 3hrs there. Nail Pro in Gurnee is a new favorite of mine. The owner/manager is so polite and personable and he hires a diverse staff of workers who do a great job and aren't intrusive about your personal business. Sometimes, you just want to get in, relax, not have to talk (and let other people know) about your life's history and profession, and just be able to watch the movie playing on TV. In this, Nail Pro succeeds. I got a mani and pedi for $34 by a gentleman named Denys and he was stupendous. His hand and leg massage was most relaxing that I almost fell asleep. The place is well-maintained and clean. I'm a new fan and will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area. Walk-ins are welcomed and while they have a pretty good sized staff, I would suggest calling in advance, so you don't have to wait. When I went, I noticed a lot of customers (both men and women) there during the middle-of-the-week in the morning. Definitely give this salon a try. I love this place. I tried to go somewhere else, and ended up posting a terrible review I was so bummed out. I thought since I was missing Pro Nails, I would check in with a review. Tim, (owner) is SO nice. He really listens to what you ask him for. I always ask for really tight edges because I'm a picker. If the edges are rough, I won't be able to leave them alone. A fresh set with him will last me 3 weeks before I even need a fill-in. There's a gal there whose name I always forget, and I think she's the source of some rude comments, but what goes unnoticed is that she's deaf. She not ignoring you, she can't hear you. Her pedicures of mine have been pretty solid. I've never had nails with her though. I had a couple other techs that were satisfactory or better too. I have been waiting for a longgg time to find a nail salon where the techs actually care about you and will talk to you and acknowledge your presence. Well I found it here! TIMMY is the best. He does my acrylics every two weeks (okay let's get real, every 3 because I'm a slacker) but they still look awesome 3 weeks later! He's friendly funny and nice. I'm a talker and he doesn't mind & actually converses with me. Pro nails is a great salon and I won't be going anywhere else because I'm so happy I've found Timmy! I have been going here for a manicure on Tuesdays, during the day. I have also had a pedicure from this salon. I am pretty darn happy! Everyone has been very nice to me. Anything I ask, the staff has been pleasant. I have had a different person each time. I have not made an appointment because they are not busy at this off time. The manicures last 5-6 days. I am not that careful so I think this is great. I have only had regular polish, no gel or dip. One time I was offered something to drink. Just once though. Maybe you have to ask for something each time. So far so good. read more

I've been searching for a reputable nail salon who could do my nails a specific way, as I'm new to the area and has been wearing the same style for 20 years. The style is similar to a French manicure, but instead of being white on the tips, I get hot pink powder acrylic. This style lasts longer than nail polish or no chip gel. The technician (Tai) who waited on my also did my classic pedicure and my eyebrows, which I liked. Sometimes when you go into salons, 3 different people will complete your services. The salon was up-to-date and clean. The staff are nice and there is versatility in ethnicity, which is awesome. I've tried a few others, but after getting burned (literally with the drill), I've opted to only go to Pro Nails. I've never been burned or nicked and the service is always great. I've had to go in for broken nail fixes and they've always been accommodating and fix the nail right away. This salon has also been recently renovated so it looks great inside as well. After a great experience the last time that I was in town (sept2018). I even wrote a glowing review. I was excited to take my Daughter for a pedicure and manicure, for her Navy school graduation. What a disappointment!! In the 30 years that I have been having my nails done, I have never had a 'spa pedicure and gel manicure in under 60 minutes. The pedicure was mediocre, and my feet are not soft and smooth, like I would expect. My nails - a French polish, are very disappointing. My nail tech Lacey, only put one coat of white on the tips (everywhere else always puts 2 coats). Therefore the tips of my nails are not uniform and not solid white. I will have to have them repainted this week. My Daughters nails after drying were all bubbled up, on nearly every single nail. She had to have them all repainted and then more time to dry. So my appointment was over in an hour, and I had to sit and wait an additional hour for my Daughter to be finished. Maybe Pro nails should try to offer more quality, than trying to get a service done in an unreasonably time. We will not be back. Update - I changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star (I wanted to give it zero) - the polish on my toes has already chipped. This was a waste of $70. read more

This visit the hot water heater wasn't working and my friend and I had pedicures with cold water. I asked the tech for warmer water she said oh the water heater isn't working. I told her this spoils the experience, she apologized and kept working . I explained that a pedicure is about the pampering experience, she didn't respond. I came here Thursday. Yesterday was Saturday and my nail already chipped after getting my nails dipped. I come here very often and when the manager told me that he made me an appointment with a woman named Sara I thought it was only because she did a good job. Sara was way too busy on her phone to even pay attention to her job. My nails were translucent, uneven, not shaped properly, and already cracking only after a day of being done. I came back on Saturday after my nail chipping while picking up a bag of dog food. Enough was enough I called the nail salon and let them know. Luckily the woman who helped me fix my nails was PHENOMENAL she buffed them and fixed the unevenness and shaped my nails to the rounded square look I like. But, then I got home washed my hands and I realized even after coming back and spending an additional hour fixing everything at the salon there was residue on the side of my thumb from the dip not being filed on the sides. With this being said I won't be back. They lost a customer of over 5 years by just being careless. read more

I happened to also catch a glance at another nail tech (loi) who was was throwing around his customers hands like no tomorrow. I received a no chip manicure and regular spa pedicure at this nail shop. The spa pedicure package stated it had a longer massage time. I didnt feel like extra time. The massage felt like it lasted 5 minutes at the most. They get you in right away but if your looking for a nail shop that's takes their time and for relaxation this is not the place. My technician did not talk to me and by time I was finished my nails looks like they had 5-6 days of growth already, along with the edges not painted well. 2 nails broke within a week which has never been the case for me before. Went here because of the good ratings I read on Yelp but stopped pedicure after I got nail polish removed because from the time I walked in the door to the time I stopped the service, the tech was on her phone- did not acknowledge me, ask me how the water temperature was or even try to make me comfortable by pushing the auto button on the massage chair. I tried to be patient thinking she would wrap up the call but after 5 minutes of getting less than half the attention I deserved, stopped the service. Wasn't impressed at all. Their website makes it seem very clean, professional, spacious and fancy. It's extremely far from that. It's old fashion and out dated. They are just about getting customers in and out as quick as possible. I needed and requested a full set and they only replaced two nails and did a refill. Their no chip color selection is extremely small, plain and mediocre. They only have one basket to look through so you feel rushed when other people need to pick a color. My paint is all uneven coats. I went to another salon immediately after I left to get them repainted. I have better chairs at my family BBQ's than they do in the waiting area. I took my daughters and I today for pedicures and was worried we wouldn't be seen since the place was packed with people, but to my surprise they managed to squeeze us in. I got the signature spa pedicure and I felt so relaxed and my feet look amazing. My oldest daughter was nervous but once they started on her feet she felt relaxed and happy. My pedicure was 30 dollars, and my kids were each 20 dollars, in total was 70 dollars minus tax. Price is worth it! read more
