I decided to try Pro Nails. Overall my nails look nice, but I felt like my experience was short changed. I started with a pedicure. It was by far the fastest pedicure I've ever received. She was rushing through (to get to her next client I'm assuming) and the polish on both of my big toes is bubbly and uneven. I also had a manicure which entailed of her cutting my fingers when trimming my cuticles. There was no massage or even lotion put on my hands. I'm pregnant and 4 days away from delivery so I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing massage. I asked for acrylic nails which is $20. They told me to then pick my color with a huge keychain like thing with every polish painted on it, so I had no clue what brand it was or type of polish. The lady was pretty rude to me, and the place was extremely dirty. Extremely. She ended up doing solar nails on me with shellac polish, which I did not ask for, and of course it was much more expensive. However, she did such a good job and it was probably one of the best sets of nails I ever had. On the wall it said that shellac on solar nails were $40. She charged me $45, assuming I was probably some rich girl with daddy's credit card, which I am absolutely not. I regret now not saying anything and refusing to pay, but she clearly screwed me. I wish I wasn't as upset as I am and as I was yesterday but here I am. A man (Carlos) started working on my feet and I thought nothing of it. Just trying to email some professors and catching up with my friends via text. Then he started scrubbing my feet and this is where it went wrong. He used a callous scraper and what seemed like a Pumice bar to clean up my feet. Now I'm not saying they were perfect, but they weren't bad enough to use on my feet for 5 minutes per foot. He scrubbed so long on my feet that I have cracks and cuts that didn't exist on my feet before the appointment. My decently time pedicure (they're usually about 30 minutes) took him an hour and a half. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm never setting foot in there again. read more

Nice workers, but they do speak in their native tounge so you never know what they are talking about. I get my nails done every two weeks back home so I'm picky on where I go. I read good reviews so I decided to give this place a try. It was amazing! Not only are they very nice and polite, they're CONSISTENT. I've been to places that have been good the first time but then they feel as if you're a regular, they don't have to try as hard. Vicky does my nails and does a great job. Everyone is so polite. Also, my friend got a small discount because of the wait. They really care. They're also always busy so make an appointment. For those complaining about cleanliness- you might have just visited before their remodeling. I have only been here after their remodel but it's so nice and clean now. I'm picky when it comes to nail salons. I like this place a lot, and that says something. Don't trust the rude reviews saying they're not nice or inviting, it's such the opposite. They actually care. I've actually seen reviews talking about their language they speak, and that's the rudest thing I've ever seen. I was visiting from out of town, it was getting late and my cuticles were showing tremendous wear and tear. I dashed into Pro Nails, even after reading the review that told me it was not the cleanest place. I was hoping for the best but when it came to sanitation and cleanliness, was disappointed. The tools that she used were not sealed, they were in a box that was marked "clean" but it looked dingy and after she dug at my skin with them she threw them back in the same box, which was the only box of tools to be seen. Hmmm.... In addition, her workspace had used cotton balls on it leftover from the previous customer. While I didn't come into direct contact with them, it just showed that cleanliness wasn't a priority. Gross. And the cherry on top was when I went over to the drying area and put my hands on the counter under the lights, I could actually feel the oil and grime. It was disgusting. She did give me a decent manicure though. And I haven't noticed a flesh eating disease taking hold of me so I think that I'm in the clear. read more

I've been to most of the nail salons in Denton, but this one is the only one I go to now. It's nothing fancy, just your normal nail salon, but the prices are the most reasonable I have seen in town. Though the regular polish selection is a bit limited, they have a ton of options for gel nails (though I wish the sample swatches were a bit more organized). The staff is always very welcoming and remembers me by name and does their best to accommodate me quickly because I always do a walk-in. I would not recommend, due to the fact that I went in there thinking the acrylics would be $25 since that's what the guy on the phone quoted me. Then when I get there I double check and apparently there are 3 different types of "acrylics" which are regular (regular polish), powder, and gel. When I think acrylics I think powder or solar so when I get in there the powder costs 35 instead of the 25 the guy quoted me, which is fine whatever it's only $10 more. So I proceeded to get almond shape nails and the guy that did them did a great job. So he tells me since I got powder it was $35, which was fine because that's what I was told before hand. I go to pay and the guy at the front tells me it's $45, and I told him the guy that did my nails said it was $35 and they talked to each other and apparently the guy said $45 I mean I could've misheard but I'm pretty sure I didn't. The receptionist tells me it's $45 now because I decided to get almond shaped nails. They decided to charge me $10 extra dollars for the damn shape. I didn't even get a fancy design I just got plain white nails. Not only was I quoted the wrong price at the get go, they charged me for the SHAPE of my nail. I find this completely absurd and I will not be recommending this place to anyone, such a rip off. read more

The brutal scrapping off of the previous gel nail polish was painful. Totally ruined the nails; surface rough and left too weak to handle the equally abusing filing of my nails. He filed so carelessly and roughly that he actually split one nail up the middle. I. WILL. NEVER. GO. BACK. Oh yeah, when the owner was called over to interpret; didn't EVEN try to keep me or apologize or explain. I love this place. I got a mani/pedi after my bar exam with girlfriends. They have great people, comfy chairs, awesome nail polish selection, and long lasting nails and pedicures. They are also really consistent with their service and everyone there does a great job so you don't have to worry if the "one person" is available. They are also very professional and I have never met a salon so engaged in their customer. Aside from manicures and pedicures, their waxing is superb. Then as I am getting my nails done the guy yells at me because I took 5 seconds to decide on the nail length. First I asked to see more of their regular nail polishes (which they keep under their front desk and only display the crappy polished to get you to spend more on the gel polish since those are the only ones they have colors in) they have me crawl down on my knees while the technician sat there and wouldn't move to let me see anymore polishes. It's sad to say with such good reviews already that my experience here was disappointing to say the least. Me and my mother went for some mother/daughter mani/pedi bonding time and left feeling like we wasted our money. The wait time was no existent so I give them credit for that but that was their only shining feature. As soon as we came in and picked our colors we were ushed to the pedi chairs were my guy had already had it set up and waiting, while my mother sat in the chair next to me and had to wait as the lady filled her mini tub. I was already getting my nails clipped and buffed by the time the lady even sat down and did anything with my mom. Both people rarely talked to us and were chatting in their native language which made both of us feel uneasy because they barely even acknowledged us. As far as the pamper aspect of the mani/pedi my guy did wonderful and my feet and hands felt amazing but my mom unfortunately did not receive the same level of relaxation. While I got color on my finger nails my mom asked for just a clear coat and the lady only clipped and filed hers, not even so much as a base or top coat applied, same with her toes although she did get a couple coats of color. When I got my fingers painted I had to ask for a third coat because the color was streaky and you could see my nail through it. We left spending $70, $20 for each pedi and $10 both for my nails and the clipping my mom received, which we both felt was an overcharge since the lady completely ignored my mom's request for a clear coat, and a $5 tip for both. To make matters worse, it was weekday that we went so it wasn't as if they were busy and need to get to other customers, one employee was even sitting on her iPad at her table while others were working. In all the experience was alright but I won't be finding myself back in there. You may get a wonderful experience when you go, or you could end up with the same shoddy service that we got. read more

My friend and I had an appointment to go in for a pedicure. We both got the $30 deluxe pedicure. I asked my technician to cut my nails down super short. She did not. I asked her again and she said they were already too short. My cuticles and dead skin were not taken off. My technician and my friends technician were whispering and talking to each other the whole time. At one point they both left us and walked away and were gone for a few minutes. They rushed through the massage. My friend took a bath 4 hours later and the polish peeled off. Very disappointed in the device and for the money we paid. read more
