This place just reopened under new management. I've been in twice. Both times my experience was consistently exceptional. The store is clean, a good temp, and has different music playing each time (I hate places that only play one playlist!). I've had both a mani and pedi there. The staff were so nice!! I'd been going to another salon for years previous to my visit here. Historically my gel manis would last me about 2 weeks. Not longer, ever. Since going to pro nails, my manis have lasted 3+ weeks without a single chip, break or issue. I'm majorly impressed! They do specialize in dip nails which might have to do with them lasting longer. This salon doesn't make me feel like we are cattle that just need to be shuffled in and out as quick as we can. One thing to note is you can't tip on card so you need cash, but you *might* be able to ask if they will let you Venmo the tip. read more

Pro nails is a hoppin' place. I made an appointment the day before for 11am. I was in a big hurry and unfortunately they were super behind. Everyone who came in were told it was almost time, and there were so many people calling to schedule and I could tell they were stressing at how full they get. I waited 30 minutes in a chair until they started. She convinced me to try dip, which I've been curious about. Because she was so behind I felt the job was pretty rushed and she didn't clean up cuticles or anything. Thankfully I didn't really need it anyway.. But I so rarely get my nails done that it would have been nice. She was going so fast that I didn't get the shape I wanted either.. I mentioned it at the start and she said we'd file more later, and she never did ask me what shape so I didn't get a chance to say. I typically would have asked at the end to fix them up more, but the appointment was going over and there were others waiting. I probably won't go back because of how swamped they were, but maybe they typically have more in staff. If not, they should. Nails still look nice, just not what I was going for and it went over on time. I'm sure they're that popular for a reason. Second time in and waited 45 min when I called and they said they could get me in.. don't be in a hurry when you come, it's never on time. read more

I had a great experience at Pro Nails and Nu is a fabulous artist! I called ahead for an appointment about an hour in advance, and they had availability for me to get a gel manicure + design. The salon is neat and clean and the staff are all very friendly and playful. Great vibes all around. Nu has a great eye for detail and and brought so much life to my nails! We joked about how everyone wants flower designs on their nails this season, and that she has drawn at least a hundred flowers at this point. If she wasn't already a nail design expert she certainly is now! It came out to $75 for dip powder removal + gel + design. I found the price to be very reasonable compared to other salons in downtown and uptown Minneapolis, and the quality is just as good if not better! I will definitely be back to Pro Nails and I highly recommend asking for Nu if you're hoping for any cute designs! read more

I used to come all the time when it was the old owners and decided ti give it a shot. I called asking if they had appointments available and she rushed me off the phone when I asked for a soak off and gel manicure. I finally get there and a man is soaking my nails but before that he starts filing them with the electric file and burned me because he kept going over the same spot and kept going on my skin under my nail multiple times! Then he goes around my whole finger with an electric file and laughs! The lady next to him laughs as well I tell her it's not funny and proceeds to keep laughing! Then while laughing is like I'm sorry. All the nails were crooked and when I brought it up again at the end they came up with an excuse "we were laughing about a box that didn't come" but didn't say that when I brought it up the first time. I've been looking for a nail shop in my area for a while that does dip powder nails well and I think I've finally found it!! For $45, you get an amazing assortment of dip colors to chose from - more than at any other surrounding salons. Before, I've unfortunately experienced a few times of crappy ones where I was given a gel top coat that ended up flaking in less than 24h. Ann (sp?) was fast, knowledgeable and I love the shape. Honestly, I've been to plenty of nail salons and none of them can beat how amazing this place is! I recently dm Tom over his Instagram a couple weeks ago and he was so nice enough to make me an appointment today over the Instagram dm. I came in today really excited and I walked out under an hour later. Tom took only 45 minutes to do my nails, and he was really fast at them. He did such a wonderful job on my nails and I'm so in love with them! He was also insanely nice and amazing and made me feel comfortable. The people and environment were amazing as well. This was a really great experience to come here and this place is also just 15 minutes away from my house which I love! Definitely found my new nail place to go to now and I'm so happy about it! Paid $30 for one of the worse pedicure experiences I've had recently. I normally go to DeParis nails, but decided to try them out. Went yesterday 6/24 for a bday pedicure. My feet barely soak before she started working on them. I hate the cuticle nippers in general , but decided to let her use it anyway, and of course, I got nipped by it. No blood was drawn but it was painful enough for me to yelp. Because I'm hard on my feet, I inquired about the scraper to remove the dead skin from the bottom of my feet. She told me it was an additional $10 and I said that was fine -- she never provided the service. She then proceeded to do the laziest skin removal I've ever experienced at a salon. Before I could say anything about the patch of skin left at the back of my heels, she was already applying the base coat to my toe nails. The polish job was also a tad sloppy. I was extremely upset, but didn't want to cause a scene so I paid, and finished my feet at home. I don't know if that was her first day on the job, or she didn't didn't want to be there, or do my feet, but for $30+ tip, I should've received better service. That's the first and last $30 they'll ever get from me in this lifetime. read more

I went a few months ago and had a fabulous gel manicure that lasted far longer than any I've ever had. I called a few weeks later and wanted to make an appointment with the same gentleman and was told I couldn't because they take turns with who is next. I decided to try again today and called back 3 times before anyone picked up the phone. I made an appointment for 5 pm and was prepared to apologize because I was late. Not necessary, I waited 10 minutes before anyone spoke to me and only when a woman walked in and called across the salon that she had a 5:30 and I also said I was waiting for an appointment. I was told to "pick a color" and shown to a chair. That was the last word anyone said to me, everyone was more intent on chatting with each other in Vietnamese. There was also an uncomfortable level of acrylic fumes which made the time at the chair unpleasant. Unlikely to go back. read more

I have been going to this salon for pedicures for over fifteen years! It is under new management and some of my favorite people are still working here. I started bringing my daughter along about 5 years ago, and we LOVE the experience. We sometimes have to wait for a little while, and that is very comfortable in the lobby. Once we choose our color (from a vast array), we head to the pedicure chairs and set up our preferred "massages" :). In this super-clean salon, they take great care of our feet, are super gentle as they know we are both ticklish, and even help me when one of my toenails goes ingrown. We (13-year-old daughter and 50mumblemumble-year-old mother) both enjoy the atmosphere and feel pampered every time we leave. We moved from Crystal about 8 years ago, but I see no reason to go anywhere else! read more
