I'm so glad I picked a family run nail salon near my job instead of near my home. I believe most of the businesses in that plaza (outside of Publix, of course) are family owned. This neighborhood nail salon is cozy and the techs know exactly what they are doing! I came in after work without an appointment on a Friday. I had attempted to remove my powder dipped nails that I had done by a different salon all on my own. Anyone who has tried to remove their own fake nails can likely picture what went on at my house. Let's just say, I didn't get all of the pieces off and I had foolishlyfiled my fingernails teeny tiny - and then covered them with a cheap coat of red polish, and hoped no one would notice for the next 24 hours. The tech at Pro Nails and Spa took such great care of my injured fingertips. She removed all of the tacky red polish, carefully trimmed my cuticles, and used her handy tool (which I believe is called an electric drill) to smooth out the nail for fresh polish. She was so gentle and attentive to my comfort. For only $20, I honestly didn't expect such a high level of detail. My nails look healthy again, and the shop has a wonderful, calming atmosphere. I came in to get my mustache waxed and the wax ended up burning my skin. When I left, my whole upper lip was really red and irritated. I've gotten my mustache waxed before at other places and this has never happened to me. The experience was uncomfortable and now my skin feels burned and sensitive. I came in to get a pedicure and had to bring my 8 month old baby in. I figured he would be fine as he was sleeping, well he woke up and was quite fussy. The girls held him and made sure he was happy while I got my pedicure done and I am so grateful. Only nail place I'll go from now on. I'll leave baby at home next time. Lesson learned. Well, I have been coming here since last year and I do not recommend it especially if you have problems biting nails or chipping, they tell you rudely to stop biting and the customer service is really bad, all of my nails have been weak and I have always have a problem after getting my nails done here and plus their is a treatment for your feet that you can add to your pedi and it was horrible it left my feet really dry and yellow it made no difference for my feet just made it more dry and I was paid extra for that. Overall I think think they need to work on their customer service and get Better product's, definitely not coming back. read more

I've gone to this nail salon a couple of times and I've never really had any issues, until recently. I go here for pedicures & unfortunately i suffer from reoccurring ingrown toenails, so sometimes when they remove said toenails, it hurts and my toe may be swollen for the remainder of the day. That is fine, and expected. This last time i went, however, she was really rough with my big toe nail and actually ended up making me bleed, on the side of my toe that doesn't even have the ingrown problem. And now my toe looks like this. This is 2 days after my pedicure. I can barely walk on it, and I'm in constant pain. Considering I'm used to getting pedicures with ingrowns, this is abnormal and should have never happened. Please do not go here unless you want to walk out with a swollen, injured toe. I went here during my trip to Tampa and immediately regretted it. The pedi: The water was tepid, at most. The salon in general is dated, which is fine.....as long as it looks clean....it was not. The man giving me a pedi rushed through it. I offered to put my sandals on before he painted my toes, to avoid any smudges. Nope, he insisted on putting on the sandals after. Smudges. I can't even explain the foot/leg "massage", but I will try. Imagine the lightest kitten stepping on your foot. Still more pressure than the massage. I realized later that my toe nail was filed crookedly, as well. The no-chip mani: First of all, they didn't understand what a no-chip mani was. I think they call it something else, maybe gel? Not sure. Anyway, instead of wrapping each nail in cotton and foil to remove my current no-chip, they placed a bowl of remover on my lap during the pedi. It started to burn after a while and my skin ended up super dry. So, I get to the mani chair and I'm asked again what I want done. I finally say "okay yes, a gel mani." I imagine each salon does things differently so when the technician was going through the steps, I chalked it up to just a different order. When he finally had me wash my hands and I came back to the chair, he said "Okay you're done." I pointed out my cuticles, which he hadn't touched, and the polish was uneven at the top of each nail. At that point, it had already dried (using the uv lamps) so he offered to add paint to the tops. I declined, since it would then touch my skin. I brought up my disappointment to the technician at checkout and he said "Oh, next time you should get a full manicure and then we'll do the cuticles." What the heck did I get?!! Anyway, I don't need bells and whistles to be happy. But I do need a clean place, warm pedi water and A FULL MANICURE. 0 stars, but 1 star chosen so I could write this review. read more

I wish I could give a Negative star. I came to the salon and after a short wait, which was good, I sat down. I told the guy that I need one nail fixed. He takes out acrylic. I told him I don't have acrylic on my nail. Two girls walked up to pay. He takes their payment. When he comes back to me, I asked does he have SNS (dip powder). He says, "Maybe you should go back to the person that did your nails." He puts back all his stuff away and he says, "No No No" I say " I am willing to do it I just wanted to know if you do SNS." He still says no. I am from out of town. Not familiar with this place. First time ever there and this is how I am treated. If you go here, make sure it's your last ever resort (I mean after the homeless man on Dale Mabry says he can't do it). Maybe other people there are better, but don't go to the guy on the right with the pot belly if you can help it. If you have any type of issue for example, if you fart to the left side instead of the right while at his station, you will be dismissed and have a problem. What kind of customer service is this???? I was going to this nail salon for 3 years and have lived in Tampa for 4 years so that says a lot about my loyalty. I hate that I have to write a bad review, because the owners are awesome. Their workers, not so much. Unfortunately, my last visit to this salon was a nightmare. The girl who did my nails cut my cuticles so bad to where it bled. Instead of taking her time to ensure that I was ok, she kept polishing my nails as if nothing happened. To my disgust she began to paint the nail where my cuticles were bleeding, and then dipped the nail brush back into the nail polish. This is very unsanitary. If she did this to me, who else has she done this to? I was sad to have to find another nail salon after going here for years, but when it comes to customer service and cleanliness; I take this very serious. This is not my usual spot to get a manicure, but I needed one badly and it was near my parents house so I went. I wanted a regular manicure and the lady of course was pushing me to get a gel. I said I had a nail just break and didn't want gel. After she continued to pressure me, I finally said ok. Then, she states that she will add acrylic to my nail which I said I did not want her to do. I say I work in a hospital and do not want acrylic and actually I have never had acrylic so i don't even know what I'm doing. She grabs my finger and looks at it and I thought she was just polishing it but in actuality she's applying the acrylic after I said 'no thanks'. It burned so bad (the nail was recently broken) and continues to hurt two hours later. I got switched over to another girl after this woman gave me mg acrylic and I finally stated I just wanted a regular manicure and finally I got my wishes. If you want to be tortured on your pedicure go here. The man who did my pedicure and manicure rushed like he was missing a bus and he was rough. He also purposely poured alcohol on the space between the toe base and foot burning me. I told him it burned. He got up and went to the sink on the other side of the room. There was no water in my pedicure basin and I thought he was getting water to stanch the burn. It was excruciatingly painful. He did not come back with water. I was now in tears. I asked him to make the burning stop. He ignored me. I've been getting pedicures for various spa's for over 20 years and never, NEVER have I been treated so badly. Not to mention the pedicure has cuticle material half-finished and the same with my manicure. I did not have my glasses on so when I questioned him about the extra skin he said it was lotion. Love this place! Every nail tech I have had takes their time and makes sure your nails look good. Very attentive making sure the water is a comfortable temperature. The best part is the long leg massages. The only complaint I have is there is not a very big selection of nail polish colors but they did add some new colors recently. Dirty Place. Inexperienced Techs. I have gone here as a fallback when my regular nail salons are closed or booked up. They are by the grocery store and up until today did a passable but not great job, and the place needs sprucing up so they are not one of my regular places and I won't be going back. Today I could tell the tech assigned to do my mani did not know acrylics, gels or drills. After she hurt me several times I asked her politely but firmly to be more careful which had no effect. I was left with ravaged fingers around the nails. I told her and the owner I wanted a more experienced tech to apply the gels and wanted that done after the pedi already in progress . She wanted me to balance the dryer on my stomach during my pedi. After agreeing to a different tech and allowing me to finish with the pedi tech and moving the mani to an actual table, the owner acted surprised when I was shown to a table after the pedi. And ... yes, guessed it, the first nail tech was waiting for me. I politely refused, again showed her my damaged fingers and looked at the owner for help. She insisted I let the mani tech finish. I had to be very firm and stand up to leave while asking for my bill. She FINALLY agreed to have the pedi tech finish my mani. The owner actually stood there and argued with a customer sporting damaged hands saying she did not understand why I wouldn't let the first tech finish the mani!! And of course they tried to upsell me brow wax. Stay away from this place that has slid so far from its former quality level. read more

Worst "manicure". I was told to take a seat at the booth to get my gel off and get a regular paint manicure, after 25 minutes I finally had someone begin my nails (she happened to be the owner I believe) Apologized about the wait, even though they weren't that busy and did people's nails before mine who came in after me. She commented on how whoever did my nails before me left on acrylic which was true. She said I didn't need a manicure just a polish change and after about 3 minutes she was done. They're lumpy and some of the sides aren't even painted. I was forced to pay full price even though I waited a ridiculous amount of time and the entire time the woman was extremely argumentative. You might want to look in the restroom and back rooms to see that this place is not very clean. In addition, there is nothing relaxing about it. The lady who gave my Pedi never smiled even once. They also run the news constantly on the TV, even though the words are scrolling across the bottom, the volume is also on and totally annoying. There were only 2 of us in the Pedi chairs and the other woman was watching her Iphone, so I finally said "That is not very relaxing." They then changed the channel from one continuous news network to FOX news. Oh my. I have been so many other places where there is soft music and / or looped nature scene on the TV....very relaxing. My request only seemed to make them more annoyed with me. Also, in case they ever read this, Please stop asking the customers if they want to squat down to sit in those tiny little floor chair. Twice, two different technicians, ask me to sit in one of the little floor chairs they use to give Pedi treatments. I am elderly, tall, and a big girl. No way did I want to squat down to the floor to take off or put on my shoes. I certainly would not have been able to get back up. I understand that they do this all day long. Most of us do not. I did not feel that I should have to justify and give a reason, other than NO, for not wanting to squat on the tiny floor chair. Lastly, the lower leg massage was feather light and the woman never rinsed the leg gel off of my legs. I came home and took a shower. I only stopped in because I was going to Publix and thought it would be a quick treat. Not so. Will not be going back. By the way, no one ever offered me any water. Maybe this is suppose to not be an upscale place, but the prices are the same as those who treat customers with more respect. I have no doubt that these employees work very hard. With just a bit more kindness and a relaxing atmosphere, they could make a great deal more money. read more
