I first tried this place five years ago and did not love my experience, but recently saw the great reviews and updated business name, so decided to try again. I love that I could make my appointment online for the same day, and even pick what technician I wanted. I made an appointment with Heather for both a pedicure and gel manicure. When I arrived, I was told that someone else would do my pedicure, which turned out fine because while I was sat with Nancy at my toes, Heather started the gel removal process on my fingernails. Heather was very friendly and chatty, and I could tell that she had a lot of regular clients in her salon, as she greeted many people by name. Nancy did a great job on my toes, and I was pleased with the job Heather did on my nails. Prices were comparable to other salons in the area, and I will definitely return here. read more

Originally I thought we had a good service! However buyer beware my daughter paid with her card and left a $10 tip! Which is more than 22% on top of the fact that it wasn't the style and nails that she asked for. We all tip however, the one of them decided to add $9 to her card that she did not authorized! We will be going back tomorrow to Dispute this or we will go to the bank and reverse these Additional $9 charges but anyways now you know we are never going back. read more

I couldn't find the picture of how the owner ( isn't the one on the profile picture here) did my eyebrows. She thought I was Asian person like her and she literally cut all edges of my eyebrows leaving it unmanageable for 3 months. Her excuse and apology was " you can makeup them" and " it will grown up. Don't worry that much ". In top of that she charged for the mess she did. read more

When moving to Tampa, I was trying to find a new nail salon. I was recommended by a friend to check out Star Nails by Heather. I wanted to like this nail salon so bad but the cards were not in my favor. Approximately 3 weeks ago I got my first set of nails by this salon. They turned our decent but wasn't quite what I was looking for. No major complaints though, so I decided to give them another try. I went in a few days ago to get a fill and new paint. I provided a photo of what I was looking for, thinking it would be fairly simple. While sanding down my nails, we noticed there was a fungus underneath one of my nails. Which I have never experienced in the 8 years I've religiously had my nails done. This shocked me. It could have very well been from me bumping a nail but I still have suspicions from it being from the first set of nails they put on. By the end of my last appointment, 4 nail techs had touched my nails. First woman originally painted every nail black (one was supposed to be white) and then had one of the men fix it. After that it switched back to the first woman, she then grabbed another woman to inspect my nails, and the next woman to paint on the drops. I completely understand if she is in training, but I am not quite sure if she was. 4 people just seem excessive. The last woman who painted the art on my nails did it upside down, which I can live with. It looks fine from afar but up close you can see the strokes of the nail polish and see through the black drops. 3 days after my appointment, the polish is already chipping off. I haven't done anything excessive these past few days so I was shocked it's already peeling. I'm still giving 3 stars because it's on me for not speaking up more. Staff was still friendly! Heather has been doing my nails for a couple of years now. She does an excellent job on my hands and feet. The salon is clean and all of the employees are extremely nice. I have never had to go back to get something "fixed" that wasn't quite right. She is a perfectionist and it shows in her work. Highly recommend! read more

I walked in without an appointment today and was able to get in right away for a mani-pedi. I selected the regular pedicure which was just the basic (not the express). Even though it wasn't fancy, it was full service. The massage chair was very comfortable for me (a big and tall person!) My technician, Ann, was very friendly and detail-oriented. She performed both the mani and pedi. I selected a gel manicure and had my nails cut down short (I play the piano.) The shaping and cuticle work was perfect. They offer complimentary beverages while you are having your pedicure or waiting. The whole facility was very clean and they used new implements (pumice, emery boards, etc.) They were generous with the exfoliating scrub in the pedicure as well as the lotion and massages at the end of both mani and pedi. While I was getting my manicure, Ann was very generous and entertained my questions about the best local Vietnamese eateries. I will definitely be back! Wouldnt dream about going anywhere else! Ive been coming once a month since they 1st opened a few years ago. Ann worked on my mani and Heather worked on my toes. Regardless of whose working they pride in excellent work and customer service while sitting in their massage chair. Tip:turn thw vibration bottom off before they paint your Try to come during the week when you can relax or if you come on the weekend to relax my suggestion and I highly recommend is to call 1st see how it is and make an apt. If you cant call and need it done right away try and get just one service done, but she will still get your other services meet. I'm saying this because someone stated in their previous review that they felt rushed and not relaxed thats because a lot of people come on the weekend and either dont make an apt. or they understand that they should. Heather hires expetional nail artists if you do want to feel relaxed and if you feel rushed by all means let them know because they want you to be happy and relaxed as well as you should feel! A great example: Over the fall 2018, I came in with a few coworkers and their kids and brought in sweets and drinks and she was so accomodating even the kids had a great time. My neighbors love coming too and friends as you can see on my pictures from the past few months. So take a friend, a family member, a coworker, or just yourself! I found this place on Groupon and decided to get a manicure here. I was very happy with the outcome. I got regular nail polish and the result was very smooth and didn't chip. The price was amazing (about $7) and customer service was great. I also liked how they did not cut my cuticles but pushed them back. read more

I'm sad to write this review, but my search for a Citrus Park area nail salon continues. A bit of background: I'm unable to wear acrylics or gel nails because I'm a nursing student and my school is super strict. I still love getting my feet done about twice a month. I called and made an appointment. That went fine. I made the appointment for a manicure and pedicure because I had to be READY when my future husband Blake Shelton proposed later that evening at the Amalie arena. Okay so that didn't happen, but I needed to be Blake ready anyways. Just in case. The service went fine! Great pedicure! The manicure was a little rocky with the same lady. She kept having me put my nails in front of the fan but then snapped at me when I put my nails by the fan for the final coat. Okay lady, first of all if you don't want my nails by the fan, tell me ahead of time. I paid and she put me on the dryer. She then left and forgot me. I sat at the dryer for more than 30 minutes. Finally I just got up and walked out. I was kind of cranky that I had already tipped a really great tip! Apparently they don't need my bi-weekly business. My search continues as I am determined to not go to the mall for my services. read more

Salons are finally open! What I really like about Star Nails is that your able to book an appointment online! Secures you're spot. Especially with things right now and salons just opening, everyone wants to get in so it's awesome. The salon is following all the guidelines of the CDC for COVID-19. My pedicure was amazing, she got all of my hang nails !!!!! My manicure oh my gosh! I came in with a specific want and I got it! They actually gave me the perfect shape of oval I wanted to! I usually tag along with my wife and girls once a month. Not many guys get pedicures but I do. I wear sandals and I live in Florida. We were faithful clients of another place for years. But they slowly started to loose their excellence. They started slacking. So about 1/2 a year, they rushed me in and rushed me out. I felt ripped off. Long and the short, I tried this place. Lisa is amazing. She is very detailed and does an amazing job!!!! She doesn't seem like the type to slack so I've been faithfully going for about 4 months. So far soo good!!! I came to Star Nails Spa after a horrible experience at Vi Nails which is about 5 min down the street. (Stay away from there!!) I did not have to wait long and the customer service is impeccable. They were much cleaner and have way more colors to choose from. The pedicure chairs are brand new and Ann did an excellent job on my fill in and pedicure. She even hand paints nail art. This place is a gem and I will definitely return. read more

This place is awesome. My sisters and I usually go to love nails in publix plaza but since the unpleasant experience, we decided to go check star nails spa which only took us an 2 extra minutes of driving. We were rushing through to get there since they close at 7 and we were going from work so I thought they wouldn't take us but luckily they were all glad to help us. I personally got gel nail and pedi done. While my sisters got pink and white for their nails and gel pedicures. Although we got there 6:20-6:30, they did not rush at all to finish our nails. They did a really good job cleaning the cuticles, neat and precise coloring and offered great customer service. We will be definitely coming back. read more

Not only were they super sweet but also we have time limits and can only go closer to their closing time and they still accommodated for us! Ask for Tai! I was very upset about my visit and Star Nails Spa. It was not the best. I called 20 minutes before to make a reservation and I arrived. No one payed attention even when I called the Nail Techs many times because I was getting late. I wasted 45 mins waiting for them to get started with my nails. The appointment was booked for 4:00 and I got home at 7:00. Very disappointing. read more

Returned to my hometown for an extended visit and was in need of an experienced tech in SNS nails. Based on Yelp reviews, I dropped in to see this salon weeks earlier and possibly schedule an appointment. Yesterday Ann did a great job on a SNS French following an enjoyable pedi with Nancy. Both were very pleasant and professional, and the entire staff was friendly. I left very happy with both services and plan to return during future visits. read more

This is the best nail salon I have ever been to! They use all new tools for every person with the option of keeping your own, which they will sanitize for you also. The techs take their time with the services and the classic pedicure is similar to a deluxe anywhere else! I will definitely be telling everyone I know to come here! The inside is decorated beautifully and all the hard work they put into the place really shows!! They also do a military discount, which no other salons do at all!!! The staff is friendly and makes you feel comfortable with complimentary drinks and also the VIP includes a glass of wine! read more

I have been going to Tai for my nails for almost 2 years and I will never go to anyone else! He is the absolute best! The salon is immaculate, and they never reuse any of the nail files or scrubbers, which I love. Tai is also very talented. He free hands all of the designs I request.. And I've requested some crazy stuff. He listens to what I want, where as other salons give you want they think you want. It's like when you go in for a trim at the hair salon and leaving with a pixie.. It's very frustrating. He is very thorough with is work, he genuinely cares about the customer. He's also so friendly and easy to talk to. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to see him because he's the best.. Hands down. read more

There was no option anywhere in the booking system to apply a gift card as a payment method, and there was also no comments section to explain the situation. I assumed it wouldn't be an issue and that the payment could simply be adjusted on the day of the appointment. Two hours before my scheduled massage I was asked if I could reschedule. I was happy to accommodate and didn't mind the change. On the day of the appointment, my therapist was friendly. However, during my prenatal massage she provided a lot of unsolicited advice throughout the session, which made it difficult to fully relax at a time in pregnancy when relaxation is especially important. Still, I was willing to overlook that part of the experience. The real issue happened at checkout. I was told I could not use my gift card for the service because the appointment had been marked as "prepaid." When I explained that their online booking system doesn't provide any option to apply a gift card, there was no willingness to adjust the payment or offer any kind of accommodation. Situations like this raise concerns about poor booking systems, lack of customer flexibility, and business practices that ultimately leave customers stuck with gift cards they cannot use as expected. Customer service and long-term client relationships don't seem to be a priority here. Unfortunately, this experience ensured that I won't be returning and the gift card meant to bring in a new customer ended up doing the opposite.

My mother and I are loyal patrons, loyalty card holders, and repeat salon clients. I skip Aveda, and Sephora, as I have always preferred Ulta for their prices and quality of services. At this location, Donna did my hair for over 10 years, and since her departure from the store, I have entrusted my problematic locks to the talented Gina for about 2 years. I used to even wait until I would be in town from Miami to get my haircuts! Yesterday evening I was in the store shopping and saw that the brow bar was empty so I requested a wax service and was told they had immediate availability. I can honestly tell you that the associate's skill level was questionable (at best) from the beginning, although she was completely polite and professional. She put the wax on far too delicately for it to cover correctly. She also didn't use enough wax, and spent too long pressing it in. (by the time she actually pulled the strip off my face the wax was likely completely cool) I didn't say anything because I figured everyone has their approach and I am a brow bar loyalist (I trust that they are properly trained). She was well into applying concealer (incorrectly) when I myself reached for the hand mirror, since she had not offered to show me my brows at all, post-waxing. I was mortified. Not a single hair that I walked into the store with that evening was missing. It looked only like someone had made my brows red, not that I had had a wax. I showed her the many, many hairs that she missed and she reapplied wax and tried again. Again, too little wax, pressing too light and for too long, and the hairs remained. I pointed it out to her, and she said she would get her manager. That took an easy 15 minutes so I just sat there with the exact same eyebrow growth I had when I walked in. Frankly I didn't know what else to say to the associate. She clearly didn't know what she was doing, and I didn't want to risk any skin over this by allowing her to apply a THIRD attempt. It was awkward, as these encounters can be, but she really was sweet and I think she expected the manager to handle things appropriately. The manager, Lynn, came over and told me that the hairs were too short for the wax to "catch". I've never heard such a dismissive load of BS in my life. I have had my eyebrows waxed maybe 100 times in my life. At this Ulta location, several in south Florida, and plenty of private salons and spas. The hairs were not "too short." That is an outrageous thing to claim. A good wax job should get ALL hairs; long, medium, short, baby, and fuzz. I have gone in to that EXACT location with LESS brow growth and come out with clean, hairless brows. She kept repeating that I could just have the associate "pluck them." EXCUSE ME? Um...I can pluck my own eyebrows at home, and believe me, do a better job with tweezers than this associate. I came for a WAX. I was being charged for a WAX. The associate mentioned to me twice that she was new, and apologized, and frankly I don't hold her ultimately responsible. She does need better training, but the decision to charge me all but 20% of my service was left to the unprofessional manager who just lost a lifetime Ulta customer over a pitiful $15. I spent over $130 on products yesterday, and a fortune over the years. I even brought my bridal party to this location on my wedding day for our hair services. BOTH cashiers at checkout 100% agreed with me that my brows absolutely were not waxed correctly and they both extended their condolences. They had no choice but to charge me what the manager instructed. I was ultimately charged $15 for my $21 service and not only are my brows WORSE than they were before walking into Ulta, (since now I'll have to wait a few days to get them waxed correctly) but I am completely turned off from this brand. Every gal knows you can walk into any corner nail salon and get a decent brow wax for about $8. I chose to pay the Ulta premium because it has always been my experience that their brow bar associates are suedo-experts in the trade and the Ulta brand takes care of its clients. I have requested to be reimbursed by corporate, but this taste in my mouth will be difficult to overcome. The economic temperature in America right now is not such that business owners and managers should take the liberty to make clients feel so devalued. I live in Channelside and drove across town to get to my favorite little beauty store in Citrus Park. When someone is making that kind of effort, and spending this kind of money, you only have to disappoint them once. Hope that fifteen bucks was worth it, Lynn.

My brows were in need of some TLC and I researched where the closest Brow Bar was located. Behold they have a location right down the road from me in Citrus Park. I booked an appointment around lunch time today and they were able to fit me in this afternoon. My appointment was with Arlette. She performed the brow mapping to help reshape my brows and make sure they were giving me the right shape for my face. She was extremely friendly and took her time which put me right at ease. Her knowledge of what eye brow shape would work on me and recommendations on their products that would work with my skin tone and hair color were very impressive. The service and pricing is very reasonable and comparable to other waxing salons. I will definitely be going back and may even try their brow tint service.

When I arrived, there was only one other client in the place. The salon is bright, clean, and cheery, with gorgeous chandeliers throughout. One side is the nail salon, and the other side is the spa side. Partitions were set up at each nail station to separate client from technician, and everyone wore a mask. Hannah got right to work and she did an excellent job. She was very friendly and chatty, which I appreciate since essentially getting your nails done is boring. When I didn't love the color I chose, she quickly came up with suggestions, and my color was swapped in no time. I love that they use sealed, sterilized implements, so I didn't have to worry about the instruments being clean and safe. The only negative about this salon is that it is much more expensive than I'm used to paying. A gel manicure, with tip, and with specialty chrome accent nails that cost extra, is usually around $36-$38 at my regular place. The cost here, with tip, doing the same exact thing, was $59, though fortunately the first visit was $10 off with Yelp Check in. So - did I feel that it was a $20 better manicure than I usually get? Nope, not really, although I did enjoy myself, and I'm happy with how my nails came out.
