HIGHLIGHTS In addition to the work we agreed on-which they did well-Paul also threw in a bit extra, doing a bit of bonus body work. He clearly cares and takes great pride in his work. NOTES This kind of work is labor-intensive and it required a lot of investigation-which means it was also quite expensive. We had a bit of sticker-shock in the end. I recommend asking periodically what the total will be because it snuck up on us. (Paul communicates a ton-by text and phone-but more about the details-so you might need to ask him to bring it back up to the big picture, and to get it summarized in a work order with an estimated cost that you can track.) And definitely get insurance looped in from Day One! That said, Paul's also working closely with us to get insurance to reimburse most of the cost. I'll update this review again when the insurance case is closed, and can hopefully add that the cost to us after insurance *wasn't* an arm and a leg (Fingers crossed!) But either way I'm confident that we're lucky to have had a team as caring and knowledgeable get our car back into livable condition. I dropped my car off on a Thursday morning for a preliminary inspection and was told it would take about 2-3 days to repair a damaged bumper. I was able to bring it back the following Monday morning for repair. The process was super straight forward and they made it very easy to work with AAA. The estimate for the repair was about 1.3k, which felt reasonable considering the inspection and labor they did on the car. I got the car back 1.5 days after dropping it off and am super happy with the results. Understanding that it was just a repaint and not a major repair. My bumper had some other damage unrelated to being hit and they fixed everything and the bumper looks fantastic and brand new. I will definitely be back here for any auto body needs and can't recommend them enough!

My RS5 was hit by an inattentive driver on the driver's side front bumper. The other driver was found to be 100% at fault and their insurance listed ECC as one of their "preferred" shops. I did some Googling and what sold me were the other reviews plus the fact that this was an Audi certified shop in the city. Dan at intake at their 12th street location was very helpful, guiding me through the initial phases of the insurance claim/taking in my car. Angie was my point person handling my claim once my car was at their actual shop on Napoleon street. She was very responsive and made this all a smooth experience, from updating me on the status of my car (difficult in this COVID-19 pandemic), to helping coordinate with my detailers at OCDetailing in Fremont to replace the custom paint protection film the other driver damaged. Andy at the shop was very accommodating in dialing in my hood striker plate and bumper JUST right. This was pushed out of alignment during the accident and the driver's side hood had a noticeable gap. I'm a little OCD and the initial attempt didn't square the hood to my satisfaction, so Andy brought it back to the work area and dialed it in perfectly. My vehicle wasn't severely damaged (just some scratches on the aforementioned damaged areas), so I (luckily) do not have experience with ECC on major rebuilds. What I can say about their paintwork (which is what we mostly care about, right? For this level of damage at least...) is that my detailing team was very impressed with their paintwork. They specialize in paint protection film and paint correction prior to PPF installs, so they're experts at determining how good a paint job is. ECC's job passed their critical eyes with flying colors. Good customer service is nice and all (ECC's is great), but the paintwork was the most important thing for me, so I am a very happy client. I hope this is my last encounter with ECC, but if my RS5 ever gets damaged in the future, I know exactly who I am going to call first.

Besides being honest, I had a feeling they cared about the safety of the vehicles they were putting back on the road. During the repair my insurance had a few issues that caused delays for payment. Rob was very accommodating in getting the car back to me as soon as possible, even though he didn't get paid for the repair work until weeks later. Rob also took care of a follow-up item regarding a broken mirror from the accident that wasn't obvious during the initial repair -- it was causing whistling noise but was hard to spot. Rob and his team were able to take care of that follow-up in about an hour, and even fully washed my car (again) in the process! I really appreciated Consumer Auto Body's help and patience through the repair process. Other shops never mentioned the alignment, and Tesla-certified shops wanted to charge me an out-of-pocket supplemental (besides the deductible) for OEM parts when my insurance would only pay for used/recycled parts.
