I scheduled an appointment with this company to get a quote for attic insulation for an investment property, but the experience was very disappointing and left a poor impression. From the moment the salesperson arrived, they noticed I had recently had gutters installed by another company and immediately began criticizing them -- saying they overcharged me and that their materials and work were pretty much trash. This felt very unprofessional and unnecessary, especially since the appointment was supposed to be about insulation. When we discussed insulation, the salesperson didn't seem very knowledgeable and asked what quotes I had already received from other companies. After I shared the pricing, I was told those prices were reasonable and that I should probably go with one of those companies because they specialize in insulation more than they do. The salesperson then reviewed the exterior of my property to quote siding and soffits, and the price provided was surprising expensive. During that time, the salesperson continued making negative comments about the gutter company I had used, which made the interaction even more uncomfortable. I expect professionalism when inviting a company for business. Speaking poorly about competitors and making a customer feel bad about previous work they've had done is not a good way to build trust. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this experience did not reflect well. read more

So I contracted this company to replace my gutters and downspouts, including a leafguard system, through another service and didn't check the Yelp reviews first. I'm actually glad that I did. I have to agree that the sales approach could definitely seem a little much for many people. I'm used to dealing with sales types, so I wasn't intimidated. I already had 3 other quotes in hand, including one from Lowe's. Although they came in slightly higher than the national chain, they were much lower than the other local companies and offered a 25-year transferrable warranty with free gutter cleaning if necessary. I prefer to do business with local companies, so I selected them. The person that came out to measure was professional, took his time, and answered all of my questions. He offered alternatives for problem areas and was very creative in developing a solution instead of just replacing what was there directly. When the work crew came in, they were efficient and fast. I paid special attention to the results when we had a huge thunderstorm a couple of days later. All the drainage and overflow issues that I was trying to address were gone. Home depot sent them to install a gas dryer which I paid $200 ahead of time. as soon as they came in the charged me and extra #$350 for a pipe that was barely moving and told me an inspector would be coming to permit the change. No such thang every happened. I haven't heard from them or any inspector since the completion. I later reviewed my receipt and the wrote it up as a value drip which I never had. read more

After arriving late, for our appointment today scheduled at 10:00am. The sale representative (Devin) came to the door without a mask, when I asked him to put on a mask before entering my home he paused, displayed an offended look, then slowly walked back to the car to see if he had one. I gave him one to prevent him from going back to his office and further delaying the consultation. After entering my home, he displayed a lack of knowledge about general window questions, always stating " That information will be inside the manual in my car". He would say this after he would cut me off while I was speaking. I eventually said " why don't you go to the car retrieve it so you can answer my questions", because he seemed so unprepared. I live in a 3,900 square foot home with over 35 windows I was prepared to replace . The last straw came when he told me twice what windows would look better for my home even after I stated I didn't like that particular style. I never got the chance to see the quality of this company's work because there sales representative (Devin) was arrogant, unprofessional and displayed a complete lack of knowledge for basic questions! read more

We recommend the Pro option, which happens to be a $2000 premium on the Standard." Bro, why the hell would you sell a product that you don't recommend? Get real-- this ain't my first rodeo. They clearly don't know how insulation or moisture transport or building science work, either. NO FUZZY FEELING I needed attic insulation and they have great ratings. My experience is I was offered a rate that was reduced by 2K which was two times higher than the company I went with. Got that? Steve quoted me over 7K. After making a phone call (don't you hate that?) The cost was lowered to 5.2K. I ended up paying 2.4K. I believe in negotiations; however, I am totally insulted by Pro Home's tactics. This happened last October. read more

My husband and I decided to reside our 1,200 square foot home earlier this year. We were also getting new gutters, a sliding back patio door, soffits and window trim, and wanted to work with a company that could handle the whole job. We gathered multiple quotes, and Pro Home Improvement was by far the most expensive. However, we felt comfortable with our salesman, confident in the product we were getting and that the work would be done professionally. Overall, does our house look nice? Yes. Am I thrilled with the work that was done and how it was done? No. Especially for the price tag. Here are some of the issues we had throughout the process: - When we met with the salesman initially, we mentioned one of our biggest concerns was that around the windows, the caulk was very yellowed and off-color. He told us the crew would clean that all off before framing the windows o When my husband came home from work one day, he found the windows being framed in but not cleaned. When asked why that wasn't happening, the crew blatantly told them that was not their responsibility. When we called the salesman to ask what that was all about, he agreed with the crew. - Completely covered over one of our outside lights and failed to put a cover over the dryer vent. o For some reason, the crew chose to completely side over one of our outside lights, which was next to our back door and used quite frequently. o These two fixes took three weeks to be addressed. - Back patio door was not installed properly. o When I went to open the door one day, I noticed a gap appearing in the top right corner and I was able to see outside through it. We then realized that you were able to slide open the side of the door that isn't supposed to open, and there was no way to prevent anyone from getting in that way if they wanted. o My husband found the error where a piece was not installed and called the company to ask about coming to fix it. On the phone they mentioned that they had this extra piece left over after install but didn't know where it went. WHAT? - Crew was disrespectful of our property. o Parked on our lawn without permission, leaving deep tread marks from their tires (the work was done in spring, so the ground was very wet) o Left their lunch scraps in our backyard (found Cheez Its, peach pits and other random lunch scraps scattered around our backyard) - Did not clean up well when the work was done. o Window sills were filled with dust, dirt and debris. o Left countless nails scattered around the outside of our house. In our driveway, front garden, back patio... everywhere. To this day, we are still finding them periodically. o Blue dust was left all over our brick patio from the crew cutting siding on it. o Left a box of materials in our yard for almost a month, killing our grass. * When the crew came to fix the light box and put on the dryer vent, my husband asked them if they were going to take the box of stuff with them, to which the crew member said that wasn't part of the job request. So it continued to sit. - We were sold on a product that we already know won't perform as we were initially told. o A few weeks after the install was finished, we found a nice size whole in the siding on one side of our house. As it's by our side yard and we never go over there, we aren't sure how it happened or when. o According to the owner, it is not the responsibility of the company to fix this after install, however we were told they would come out to fix it for us. That was 7 weeks ago. My husband has called four times and been assured each time that they just got the product in and we're on the schedule for "this week." o It's to the point where we have asked the company if we can just purchase a box of siding for my husband to fix it himself. In a nutshell, I truly believe we could have gotten the same quality job done for less. Our house looks much nicer compared to what it was, but the process was unnecessarily stressful and communication was lacking. read more

These guys installed gutters for me. I got the unconditional lifetime guarantee gutters with leafguard in them. My home is 2205 sq feet. It cost me $2450. I let the sales guy know before we even sat down that I had quotes from other places and was still getting some other quotes. The price was on par compared with other companies. I didn't want to deal with haggling so I just told him up front I already had other quotes. As soon as I realized it was a company that has to come in your house to give a talk about their products and services, I knew I had to be armed with other quotes first. Most other companies just came and looked while I wasn't there and left their quote sheets in my door (indicating that their price was a set price), After I received the quote from Pro Home Improvement I went with them and then the sales guy immediately said I gave you 40% off from our regular prices. I don't believe that statement for one second. If what he said is true, then Pro Home Improvement has the most exorbitant regular prices in the business. I did have a couple of other issues after installation that left a bad taste in my mouth. My old gutters had to be hammered off which was fine. However, when I went to do the walk thorough on the outside of my house, I was not happy how they left things. I look at the guy from Pro and said you're not going to leave the front of my house like that are you? He said like what? I said the arch over my front steps is completely covered in mud that is at least a quarter inch thick. His response to me was, you're more than welcome to get a garden hose out and spray that off yourself. I was livid. I said to him, that's how this company operates? You expect others to clean up after YOUR mess. I then said if it's something you didn't learn working for this company, it's something you should have learned as a human being growing up...you pick up after yourself. The other issue I had was that they had a downspout extension stopping right in the middle of my flower bed. I pointed out to the guy that the downspout extension was stopping in the middle of my flower bed. He looked at me and said what's the matter with that? I said in response, water flows out the downspout at a high and fast rate. You're going to put a crater in the middle of my flower bed. The extension should go to the walkway (which was at the edge of the flower bed). His response to me was, we don't want the downspout extension in the middle of the walkway because someone might trip over it. I said what are you talking about? and he repeated his statement. I was probably rude with my response because I was already ticked off by his response to the dirt left on my arch above my front steps. I said to him, at what point did I say I wanted the downspout to be in the walkway? I said the downspout should run to the walkway not be in the walkway. He had a very annoyed look on his face but said okay we'll cut another piece of extension. They were 4 feet short on leafguard for the gutters so they'll have to come back for that. That was not an issue for me because I don't have trees tall enough to put leaves in my gutters. I only needed the leafguard for the purpose of getting the unconditional lifetime guarantee. Pros: Unconditional lifetime guarantee gutters Guarantee is fully transferable Good Price free inspection and cleaning (if needed) yearly Cons: They don't clean up after themselves willingly They seem to argue when you point out problems after installation Sales rep didn't seem entirely honest or trustworthy Would I hire these guys again? I told him at least 5 times (I really should have thrown him out the house sooner) that I would like to get multiple quotes before making a decision. He then called his Manager on speaker phone to see about a getting a sign in the yard for an additional discount at my dining room table. I said again, I am not signing anything and I would get back to him. He then called the owner, Tim, (again on speaker phone at the dining room table) to see if he could do better on the price. Installation: Handled professionally. Friendly team/workers. Extra furring was required to avoid the obstacles (radon mitigation systems, dryer venting, etc) and to put up the extra insulation we had agreed upon. Even hooked up new exterior lights for me. My wife and I requested a quote from Pro Home Improvement to add insulation to our attic. While I am sure they would have done a fantastic job, and they guarantee their work for like 25 years, I was disappointed in the format of the quote. It was very much a sales pitch. Prices are not readily available on their website for insulation, and I am guessing there are multiple reasons for this; but one of them must be that they try to inspect your home and get you to commit to a price on the spot, offering a 10% discount only at the time of the inspection/quote. So for those who would like to know prices beforehand here they are: For adding 10 inches of insulation: 2.93 per square foot For adding 15 inches of insulation: 3.93 per square foot They also offer you a discount/rebate if you post a sign on your yard, advertising for them, this comes in the way of 50 dollars per day for up to 90 days. Even with these two discounts we found the prices for the job a bit high. We decided to hold off on our decision despite the somewhat pushy salesman and we got another inspection. This inspection came in with a quote hundreds of dollars cheaper, no sales-pitchy/ pushy format, and they let us know we needed additional ventilation and would install said ventilation included in our price that was cheaper than Pro Home Improvement. So buyer beware! Like I said, Pro Home Improvement has excellent credentials and reviews, so I am sure they would have done a great job, but they are a bit over-priced and try to get you to commit without knowing what the competition is offering. I did not like the feeling of the quote/inspection and am glad I went with another company. read more

Reserving judgement as someone called back and apologized for the misunderstanding. We will get our estimate tomorrow and I will update the review afterward. (previous issue) I found this company on Homeadvisor.com. I hoped to secure a couple of estimates for roofing and gutters so we could hire someone before next month. I put in my information and Pro Home Improvement came up. I tried to call but it was late so I figured I would try again tomorrow. I received 3 phone calls and an email before I had a chance to call back the next day. I was slightly annoyed with 3 calls but I figured they were just ready to work. My day was really busy and I didn't connect with them until the following day and 2 more phone calls later. I scheduled an appointment for the following Thursday. (2 days away) On Wednesday I was called again but missed the call. The message was for me to call back about my appointment. Not a confirmation but a "please call back." I returned the call and the receptionist asked how she could direct my call. I said that I got a message and she said she just wanted to confirm that my husband would be there tomorrow. I told her that he is working and that I still want an estimate. She said she wanted to reschedule for a time that he can be there to make a decision. Of coarse we are going to get more than one estimate, I informed her. The company refused to give us an estimate without my husbands approval. I can't give them money if they won't tell me what it will cost so my roofing and gutter installation will go elsewhere. So I haven't hired these guys yet. After finding another company first off Angie's list I fired them after two days on the job! In all actuality it was 8 hours or 24 man hours as the Friday they came out and only worked 4 hours then came on Monday and worked 4 more! Rain was not an issue until 3:30 pm Friday by then they were long gone. I digress, I got the sales pitch from the salesman from pro home, yes a little lengthy on pitching the company's rep but the products they offer are top of the line. My quote is good for 30 days and as of now I'm waiting for two other quotes to come in before final decision. A little gun shy here, but if I posted the photos of the other company's work you'd be vomiting in your mouth right along side me! What ever the salesmen were in the other bad reviews they weren't like that here. I'd give 4 stars but if your anything like me you pass over the good reviews to get to the dirt! I hired them, they did a great job! Side note , if you have any plants in the way hope for the best expect the worse! So they didn't call me about the time , even though they knew I was scheduled for today , to verify and just IGNORED me and my appointment . Pro Home Improvement have a great reputation online and from what I can tell they really know what they are doing and offer a nice 25 year guarantee with their work. However, their sales guy was at my house for 2.5 HOURS ON A SATURDAY, which I was not expecting, and while a lot of what he told me about how they would replace my roof was super informative and has helped me in my search for finding someone to replace my roof, he went over a ton of info that just took up way too much of my afternoon; stuff about the company, where they are headed, what charities they give money to, etc. They really use a hard sell, which I thought was a bit much. This company also quoted me a price for my roof that was 3X what another company quoted - $15,000 to redo my roof on my 1200 sq ft home!!! You have got to be kidding me! I expected them to come in at maybe a few grand more, but not 3X! You are basically paying for their $6M insurance policy when you use their services, because there was little difference in the work that was quoted by them and the other company. The guy who came out also did not even get up on my roof, he just walked around the perimeter of my house eyeballing the roof from the ground. So I am unsure how he came to the conclusion that my roof replacement would be worth $15,000, since there is no way he could see my complete roof and what is happening up there just by walking around on the ground. The other company came out, got up on my roof, told me what they would do, and gave me a reasonable price. I was also underwhelmed with the discounts and the payment plans that were offered. I was told that if I did not sign with them on the spot, the discounts would be removed from their quote. WOW! VERY PUSHY! It just was not worth spending 3X the amount I could spend somewhere else to get an updated, quality roof. Maybe rich people can afford to use this company, but I most definitely cannot! read more

My recommendation is be very careful when getting an estimate. They use very hard sell tactics. Have someone with the ability to say "No" on hand. Our salesman was very friendly until we told him we wanted a second estimate to compare prices then his sales tactics became very aggressive. He would have bullied my senior mother into signing the contract if I weren't there. He was our first estimate and the plan was to get a second one. He kept pushing saying that if we didn't sign the contract today then it would cost us double. To be fair I cannot review the work they do as we did not use their services. read more

We actually hired pro home to redo rotting wood, cover it with siding, gutters, soffits, trim and a fieldstone on the front of our home. They were the most reasonable quote we received that had a warranty and backed up their work. The people we worked with were kind, understanding and professional. I'm sure these guys do great work, but, it is one of those companies that send out sales guys to quote their work. I got my attic quoted for insulation and they wanted me to pay thousands of dollars for blown in insulation. At first, the quote was 4000. I mean, please. I have a 1400 sq ft home and my attic is, at most, 600 sq ft. I went to lowes and bought the materials and did it myself for about 150 bucks. Went from r5 to r38. I love supporting local business but it disappoints me that it is a company like this. Drop your "sales" team and offer fair prices. No one wants to pay for your salesmen's salary. read more

I hired Pro Home Improvement to put gutters on my home. Alex came by and sold me on the idea that gutters would be put up with no hidden costs. The day comes around and their crew comes out and they tell me my rafters were rotten and that they need to put a new roof on my house. I obviously didn't trust them and I had a roofer come out who told me there is nothing wrong with my rafters. He even took off my fascia boards to show me. I just got gutters from a different company same exact quality for about a thousand dollars less and they look great! Do NOT go with Pro Home Improvement. Gary stopped by, climbed up into the attic, and pointed out all kinds of causes for the problems we were experiencing despite our roof appearing intact from the exterior. He specifically identified a lack of venting and problems with low quality underlayment as two major issues. Gary reviewed many options for the replacement, including materials in various price points to meet our budget. The employees were super friendly and provided professional service.
