I bought a ProDunk hoop and installed it in 2012. The hoop has been great since and has held up through all the hot summers and cold winters in Ohio. Very well made, solid construction, easy to intall and operate. Recently the hoop actuator became difficult to operate making raising the rim a challenge. I wasn't sure what to do given the unit was 13 years old. After a quick email to ProDunk and a few pictures, the customer service area indicated they would replace the actuator and almost immediately had one shipped. We have had our Pro Dunk hoop for over 2 years, and it has been great. Very sturdy and high quality. However, about a week ago, our goal stopped going above 9 feet. I was frustrated and prepping myself for a call to customer service, sure I'd get a run-around about my goal being too old, or telling me I needed to buy some expensive replacement part. Boy was I WRONG!! I called Pro Dunk on Monday morning and immediately connected a kind customer service rep named Ryan. As I'm telling him about my problem he was apparently looking up my order by my phone number and just as I finished telling him about the issue, he was ready with my order number and told me to send an e-mail to support@produnkhoops.com with pictures of my goal from several angles and customer service would diagnose and respond quickly. Quickly, was lighting speed! Within an hour of my sending my e-mail they had replied and shipped out a replacement part free of charge and sent me my UPS tracking number. The part is set to arrive less than 7 business days from when I made the call. That is GREAT customer service and I would highly recommend Pro Dunk to any/all looking for an extremely high quality product. I bought the Pro Dunk Hoops Silver 7 years ago. We couldn't be happier with the equipment and most importantly their service. We have a professionally painted lines and our basket get lots of use from our boys and their friends. 4 years in, we had a slight issue with rust in one small area and they immediately shipped out a new pole assembly. I had to send a few pictures but no hassles, very professional, and kind throughout the process. 3 years later, one of the boys walks in with the height adjustment crank in his hand. Once again we received great service, sent a few pictures, got a prompt response, and the driveway is full of kids playing again. We were looking for a permanent unground basketball hoop for our family. We purchased a Pro Dunk Silver about a month ago as it looked like on the website that it would meet our needs. The product arrived in less than a week. We paid extra for the "Rust Armor" option as we live in South Florida and things made out of steel will rust if not properly coated.. Unfortunately when we opened the boxes, there was already visible rust in many of the welds on the main pole and arms. The welds were of poor quality and the powder coating was bubbling from the rust underneath. This from a product that was marketed as providing zinc protection for a double layer of protection. We find it hard to believe that rust would grow on zinc? When i called pro dunk they said that it was "electroplated", not hot dipped galvanized, and that they had not seen this before. To their credit they did offer to replace all of the rusted parts but did not have any in stock for a month.However the parts weigh something like 400 pounds and it cost $500 to have this professionally installed. It would have cost 300-400 to have it taken apart and replaced and they are adamant they will not cover this cost even though it was essentially defective on arrival. At this point we would have preferred to have it disassembled and sent back as it has already started rusting. read more

We had a great experience buying our hoop - easy, and straight to the point. Our installation was equally smooth, we had PDH's preferred installer come out and they did a great job, and were a pleasure to work with. After many hours of hard use, we finally had an issue with our hoop, that was actually our own fault, but when I called PDH for help they actually offered to provide a one time replacement as a customer service credit. I was almost stunned to read the email, but am happy to report that customer service does still exist! I am one who really values customer service and this is where Pro Dunk outshined anyone else in the industry. From my initial call to inquire about the product where the sales rep did not try to up-sell me, to the courteous follow up and then the on-time delivery. No wonder they are not on YELP!! I purchased a 72" Pro Dunk Platinum for $1600 February 2012. It was shipped to my house in Chandler, AZ from Houston, TX. This company was easy to work when ordering the system. I had a professional concrete company lay the court and set the base for the basketball system. The assembly was straight forward. I had no problems with the system and my kids have enjoyed playing basketball. Until this summer of 2013, when temperatures at our normal 110, dust storms, and rain. During a Micro Burst storm the back board shattered and covered the entire court with shards of glass. It was a disaster and a huge clean up. The next day I emailed Ryan with Pro Dunk Hoops after I had received a promotion email from him. Here is our Conversation: ME: Great timing about my hoop. Last night a micro burst hit our subdivision and took out the backboard. Here is a pic and video to prove it. Let me know if this something covered by a warranty from Pro Dunk Hoops. ProDunk: Whoa, I've heard of those before but have never really had any experience with them. Unfortunately, mother nature is not covered under the warranty. We do have replacements in stock though. These guys are still unwilling to do anything about the rusting issue I called about months ago, unbelievable! I ordered the "rust armor protection" or whatever they call it, that was hundreds of dollars extra, and this thing starts rusting less than a year after I got it. Also, some issues I've noticed since I've had the goal, if you crank this goal down to a height around 6 feet, it will literally hang down into your driveway at least 4 feet. That means that every time my kids lower it to dunk on it and I come home, I have to get out of the car, crank it back up, which I'll note that is way harder to crank than it should be, and then I can pull my car into the garage. Thank god I haven't backed into it yet, but it's bound to happen. Another reviewer pointed out the phony reviews on their website, it's true. They don't use third party review sites like Yelp and Google, because they can't control those. I'm fairly sure that they put a bunch of fake reviews up on their website, and act like they are real reviews. I mean, they literally say that they have hundreds of reviews, and really none of them are the least bit critical. If they actually wanted to be accredited, they would use a third party review site, but they won't ever do that. They know that their products are inferior to the bigger brands like Goalrilla. I wish I would have picked up a Goalrilla or something similar, my neighbor down the street has had one for years with no issues, and his doesn't crank down so low that it blocks the driveway, and the paint and backboard still look great. read more

We built our new house in Wilmington, NC and wanted a quality, permanent hoop in the driveway for our kids. I looked around at the options and selected the Silver model with the LED lights. Great choice. We have been super happy with the product, and the customer service has been excellent. When installing the LED lights, the screws were not installed tight enough and they promptly sent us new screws to replace the ones that were lost. When my Pro-Dunk Gold arrived in April 2013 it looked great and worked as advertised. Eight months later, the paint on the top of the pole began peeling off - I emailed ProDunk and they wrote back stating that the peeling paint is a known problem, and gave me steps to spray paint the pole. Maybe I expect too much - but I do not expect my basketball system which cost $1400 to begin peeling paint after less than 1 year of use. I contacted ProDunk stating that they should take responsibility for there defective product, yet after 4 emails I have had no response. Though the ProDunk looks good when first purchased - I would not buy from a company that does not stand behind there products. Super shaddy. Their website is full of fake reviews and fake data like "rigidity index". Charge extra for rust free coating but I can guarantee they don't add anything at all. All the poles are the same finish, just a up charge. Why would you even sell a pole that would corrode? I would strongly suggest taking a look at Treefrogs Ryval line. Custom made, also local to Houston, cheaper and better. Spent a long time researching these and the online brands and very happy with Ryval. read more
