Seriously I've researched other places to renew my cpr and first aid, and all were just way too, and Had class sessions weekly. But here at PRO-CPR, You're there in and out with learning so much material. First you need to register by going on the website and you can see what days they have classes and just email them on what day you would like to attend since class fills up. First time there I came for BLS CPR, and Patrick was so helpful! He was on point about every instructions and very hands on with the class. The class was so fun! After he was done with his teaching we took the test and I passed the test with flying colors. And that alone only cost my $40 Second visit, I came to get my first aid card. There's 2 parts to get it, the online course ($28) which was easy and only took me about an hour to do it, then come in to take the skills check off test ($30) Again you have to email them when you want to come in. I came with my friend and we both spent about 15 minutes because there were just 3 people in class. I no need to look any further for my ACLS/BLS certifications now! I came here to do my ACLS certification since my card expired 4 years ago, my coworker recommended this place and read the great reviews here on Yelp and decided to try it out. This was my experience from beginning to end: The Planning: I was planning to go with a group so I had a lot of questions. I emailed Mark back and forth soooo many times. He was great at responding back quickly and very flexible with our work schedules since we all worked night shift in my group. Finding the Class: I used google maps and found the building with no problems. It's located in large building where there are multiple different businesses. There are multiple entrances to the building but the main entrance to get to the room is at the lobby where you take the elevators up to the 5th floor. Parking was not an issue for me, its located near a small park, residential area and theres a plaza right across the street with parking. Class in Session: The atmosphere was incredible for me and the others in the class to learn and ask questions and that was mainly because our instructor, Mark (who also has his wife who teaches also on different days). Mark welcomed each person who walked through the door with a friendly greeting and had each person sign in and write our email since the ACLS Card is now an ecard through American Heart Association. He had us begin by having each of us introduce ourselves and then he introduced himself. His experience as a nurse and his wife's background was very impressive! The class was so informative and had great acronyms and ways of remembering different rhythms and tips that I plan to use at the bedside. We did multiple mock codes with different situations, everyone was able to be hands on and practice using the medications, the defibrillator, and other equipment. What was great was he didn't make you feel intimidated or dumb if you were a little hesitant (even if he knew you have been a nurse for a while). At the end of the course an exam is given, but all the material was well reviewed by Mark and you will pass! This was well worth the money spent! This was my first time here since I had missed the appointment period to take it at work paid and on the clock. My experience was nothing short of wonderful, the instructor Pat, although serious about the subject at hand, was nevertheless also quite funny which was important since having gotten off of work this morning, I had not been able to sleep yet...and as tired and sleepy as I was, I was afraid I would fall asleep in class if I had to watch long boring videos. Just finished taking ACLS here! Being a NICU nurse by background I was very apprehensive about venturing into the world of big bad adults! I seriously thought ACLS would be the death of me! However, mark was amazing! The class was so incredibly informative that I really feel like I learned exactly what to do in a code situation! His teaching style is logical and he makes the class very hands on so you learn the material AND know how to apply it!!! I honestly have never taken a more well taught class for nursing! Great instructors!!! I attended the CPR class recently, with Patrick, and it is hands down one of the best things I have done. Despite someone taking the class that thought they were the person in charge and turning students away for being a few minutes late, it was still enjoyable. It went by a lot faster then I had expected it to. And just a few days ago I attended the first aid class, and it was so much fun, I had to make sure I had done the online portion before showing up to see Mark. And since there were only a few of us there to get our cards, it only took a few minutes to do the whole check off portion. I have been re-certifying here since 2007. Let's just get this outta the way: re-certifying is kind of a pain in the ass. Not at PRO-CPR though. What drew me here at first was the lowest price around for BLS ($35). I didn't expect much because it was the cheapest that I could find at that time, and you know being "cheap" has its risks. Wow, enter Mark Gerber. I totally pulled a wild card. He blew me away. He got STRAIGHT to the point, not only that, but he also shared some pertinent, interesting stories from him and his wife's extensive history in the field to drive the most important points across. All the redundant and sometimes confusing info you would have read in the handbooks are condensed and presented in a way that is real, and useful. I didn't even really need a coffee. We zipped right through it, and I made it out of there awake and inspired, actually. THEN----- I took the EKG class with his wife, Kathy. She's just amazing. She took this really complicated subject and made it as easy as doing 3rd grade Phonics. Most people dread the complexity of this subject, but she made me enjoy the hell out of it. She gives you a very solid foundation to build on. I aced this part of my last semester of school because of her. Priceless, but I thought I'd try to repay them by referring a whole incoming 4th semester nursing class! Like I said they're amazing, and totally accommodated them ALL for an EKG + IV course if I remember right. AND THEN---- I took the ACLS class a couple years later (highly recommend taking EKG here before ACLS) that Mark teaches. All the details of a code blue can be very intimidating but knowing how awesome Mark is, I trusted that everything would be within grasp, and it was. You get a great hands on simulation experience complete with actual props, and they have a super website link that has the best scenarios to give you even more real world practice. Do you get it now? These Gerbers are very passionate people, truly want us all to succeed at being competent lifesavers, and certainly know how to get us there. As of August though, BLS classes are now $40. Up $5, but still a good price, and worth every dollar. Bottom line- Mark and Kathy Gerber are the best teachers you'll ever have. They have decades of emergency and critical care experience, and are just rad earthlings in general. Their resumes are impressive, yet they don't have ginormous egos that get in the way of you accessing their expertise. Everyone I've referred to them have become regulars. I think classes scheduled mid-week are being taught by their son now, who's even more straight to the point. What more could you ask for? Oh, I know, how bout this: if you take a class with them and need a refresher later down the line-- the doors are open (so long as you shoot them an email and let them know ahead of time, of course). Can I just say that our instructor Mark is absolutely amazing? He is energetic, entertaining, informative, and made learning ACLS class a breeze! At first I was so stressed out in the beginning because I had briefly gone over some of the basics of ACLS, but never have I got to apply what I learned in class into a simulation setting. That's where Mark came in, he did a phenomenal job in connecting all dots of ACLS. It was incredible. The class and material turned out to be low-stress and just very engaging. He really wanted us to learn the material and apply what we learned into the clinical setting. You do have to purchase a manual from AHA online, but he does have extra if people registered late and did not receive manuals on time. I even got to renew my CPR while taking the ACLS class which was a big bonus. Now i can continue to renew both every 2 years. Mark is definitely a memorable and caring facilitator. I have never learned this much about critical care while in nursing school. He really makes the class exceptional and delivers only the very best to his students. I needed a CPR certification for school and this place was recommended to me by one of my classmates, I have to admit I did not want to come and spend my Saturday morning taking a CPR class, this was my first time attending one. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the class so much and that I learned so much in the few hours I was there. I am fully confident that with what I learned I will be able to save someone's life if I needed to perform CPR on anyone. Absolutely fantastic ACLS class! Two years ago, I took ACLS at another place and learned very little so I was nervous about taking the class again (I did the full class instead of the recert because I felt like I learned nothing at the other place). But this year, I went to Pro-CPR and left feeling so comfortable with the material. Mark is smart, informative, supportive, and really makes sure that you understand the material and won't make you feel bad if you need further clarification. Engaging and entertaining instructors that really know their material and how to keep your attention. Some courses are only offered once a month so plan in advance if you're trying to attend. This is the only place that I come to for all my ACLS/PALS/BLS needs. Mark and Kathy are awesome! I've been coming here and recommending everyone to come here for over 13 years. Their motto, "here to inform, not to intimidate" really reigns true. It's easy to register for classes. Just print the registration and mail it in with your check. They also have so much information to download and print to help you review for the classes before you come so you can feel prepared. Really good place to get your CPR certification. 4 hours $40 and then your done, you take a test and boom your ready to save lives. This was my first CPR class i've taken and by far the funniest, they make the class less stressful and help you along the way. Leaving here I can't say that I'm fully prepared to save lives but a couple more practice sessions and I will be! Oh yea it gets packed so be sure to email them atleast 2 days before because my Saturday class had 30+ people in it. Actually emailing is the only way to get in contact with them. I've completed my last two BLS re-certifications through Pro-CPR. The course is very engaging/interactive. The instructor(s) will make sure that you are capable of doing the hands-on, so don't think you can pass just by hanging around and passing a written exam. You need to practice on the dummies. The best part is that unlike any other course I have taken, the boring videos are kept to a minimum. The course I took was only a few hours (I think 4?) on a Saturday. The fee to take the course was $40 cash, which was significantly less than many of the other courses I looked up. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend getting your certs/re-certs done through Pro-CPR. I have now taken my CPR for Healthcare professionals here 3 times. They are very interactive classes, not a lot if video watching and boring repetitive stuff just right to the meat of the lectures and lots of hands on practice which is what you really need to perform your best in a real life situation. I really appreciate how Mark teaches the classes it's great in depth lecture but never boring and very much applies to your learning. Never stressful like other classes and you never have to spend a small fortune on extra books or other supplies like some other classes. Also, you have the ability to get into classes on shorter notice if needed. All in all, I couldn't ask for more and will continue going here for years to come! read more

I needed to get a new CPR card ASAP. I found PRO-CPR through Google searching CPR classes in my area. I was able to join their next class with less than 24hrs notice, thank goodness! It was a big class, but I didn't care....I was getting my new CPR card! The class ran about a half hour long, but that was due to the large class size. 1st off, the view outside the window is gorgeous, and I should have taken a photo. Just did my BLS-Healthcare Provider yesterday @ Pro-CPR and the time went by pretty quick. It's jam packed with info, not a whole lot of boring video segments and you get your card the same day. I believe my instructor was Pete, and he was funny and very thorough about everything, with a special emphasis on the updated BLS steps. My sis originally told me about them a while back and I finally decided to renew my BLS... I'll be taking my ACLS sometime late this year with Pro-CPR as well.
