Looking back on 2016, connecting with Brian and benefitting from his breadth of knowledge was definitely a highlight. I spent most of my career in a corporate environment with a crack IT support team and became spoiled and dependent on that. When I transitioned recently to working from home as an independent contractor, I didn't realize how helpless and vulnerable I actually was. With our first encounter, I was lucky, he happened to be nearby and was able to come to my home and help me. It was a weekend night, I was a little panicky and altho he had been most likely working with other people all day and into the evening, he said he would come to help me and he did. An hour+ later, he had restored the files I thought I had lost forever and I felt a huge sense of relief and was so very grateful. He identified how fragile my situation was and talked me into a CrashPlan backup account and then took the time to help be get registered and running with that right there. Since then we have worked remotely several times, with great ease and an enormous success rate. So the important thing to note is that he doesn't need to be in the neighborhood to come to your rescue. The whole remote thing makes it like you are in the same room, working together toward a shared goal. I'm old school and I own that, but he never made me feel like a dummy. I have had Brian come to my house and also used an app that allows Brian to use your computer from his place and although to can see by watching where the cursor goes,, there are some safety measures built in to this app allowing this. His hourly fee is definitely on the high side, because he is good and fast, you end up not paying more than you would for someone with a less expensive hourly rate and less knowledge as well. read more
