Don't believe all of the 5 stars! They say they know all the admissions directors at the top schools and will recommend your child...but if you write a negative review your child will be blacklisted. Another person just wrote me privately to say: "I saw your review for TutorMeLA. I pretty much had the same exact experience, and I was wondering what happened after you had posted your review? Did they reach out again, did they threaten you? I was just wondering if there is any way that we can take this complaint to another place because it's truly not right what these guys are doing. The threats are scary and I honestly believe they should be stopped." read more

Finding a tutor in Los Angeles was much more complicated than I expected. As someone who values education I did not want to hit a tutor for someone in my family without doing my best to ensure they were the perfect tutor for the job. I searched high and low (including online tutoring sites that let you choose your tutor) the outcome was fruitless.  Tutors who swore to have years of experience either were not as familiar with the material as they claimed or could not eloquently TEACH it. Also, the companies that charged ridiculous amounts like $150/hr did not show much for it. I know this because when trying Tutor Me LA, I also hired another tutor from a high-end tutoring company and Tutor Me LA's tutor was not only cheaper but MUCH MORE proficient.  We needed a few tutors - A gmat tutor, LSAT tutor, and a Math tutor. EVERY SINGLE tutor Tutor Me LA sent over was great. Their Guarantee took any hesitancy we had about scheduling a session and now I see why. This place offers outstanding service and their tutors are just fantastic.  Do your research. Make sure you find a tutor that can commit. Call this place first :) read more

We have been in and out of working for tutors for ages by now. No tutor stuck around. No tutor could finish the job. I was referred to Tutor Me LA by a friend and have never used another tutor since. The tutor was patient, extremely kind, and took the time to really break down all the info. We hired an SAT tutor, GRE tutor and even an english tutor. ALL PHENOMENAL! Since we used Tutor Me LA, we have referred to many different parents who all are very pleased. If you are looking for an ISEE tutor or SAT tutor in Sherman Oaks, call Tutor Me LA. they are the real deal. 5 stars for the best tutor we have ever had. Thank you Shiela! read more

I needed help with SAT, ACT, and College Admissions and Kevin Claxton was great! He guided us through college prep process, helped my son get set up with a with great instructor. It was such an excellent experience! Now my son has been admitted to Baylor University. Highly recommend him! read more

A great experience with the tutor indeed. We hired both a Math tutor and SAT tutor that have been coming to our home in Studio City over the last few months. So far, we have seen great results and my kids really have built a bond with their tutors. Before working with Tutor Me LA I searched high and low for a tutor that would fit our needs. Private tutors were not that great... and other companies charged an arm and a leg and/or didn't seem legitimate. We heard about Tutor Me LA from a fellow Harvard Westlake parent and decided to give them a try. Our immediate impression of the company was great as the staff was very friendly and knew exactly what we needed. The matching process was easy and the tutors we received were a great fit right off the bat. The thing we love the most about Tutor Me LA is the fact that we get notes for every session sent to us. This let's us keep track of what the tutors worked on, how progress is being made, and any comments on what we need to change to better adjust for the exam. Overall straightforward and clean cut service with good tutors, a seasoned staff, and reliable system. If your looking for a tutor in Studio City or LA in general, would put on the top of your list. read more

When I hired a tutor from Tutor Me LA, I wasn't sure what to expect. I read all the good reviews online but have been burned in the past by other tutoring companies that charged me thousands of dollars with not much to show for it. A friend suggested that I use Tutor Me LA in a private Beverly Hills group chat. Although, I was hesitant, I was also desperate as I needed a good tutor and fast! I called Tutor Me LA for a Math tutor and also got information about their SAT and ACT tutors. The director I spoke to on the phone was very knowledgeable (MUCH MORE SO THAN OTHER COMPANIES I CALLED) and the prices were cheaper as well... still I wasn't sure what to expect. After they set me up with a tutor that matched my availability and fit the description I was looking for, they were able to set me up within 2 days. The tutor came to our home in Beverly Hills and was very professional. My child ended up hitting it off with the tutor and it turns out they are both into the same sports which was delightful. The tutor also took same course which also great. It has been 6 months and counting and we are still using Tutor Me LA. Why? Simple. The service is reliable, the tutors are outstanding, and the people that run the company care... yes they actually care! read more

where to start?!???? Called in for last minute organic chemistry support since my professor wants us all to fail the course. Covid has made this course a nightmare. I have taken many hard math and english courses but this class is on another level. Elliot referred me to a educational director named Jenn who set me up with less than 24 hour notice with an absolute saint! Michelle is a chemistry genius who ended up supporting me through the full quarter. I would have be super lost with out her. hopefully I won't need tutoring in the future but now I know where to go when I do! read more

I have used many tutors in the past. Chemistry tutors, GMAT test preparation tutors, Calculus tutors, you name it. Throughout my college career I have tried it all and nothing came close to my experience with Tutor Me LA. They are kind, caring, and the tutors are excellent. I even referred Tutor Me LA to my niece who increased 200 points on her SAT! The educational director WORKS WITH YOU and that is why I love them. It was far more than finding me a tutor, but they really got to know me and went to great lengths to ensure I did well and that is something that is rare and deserves to be appreciated. Thank you Tutor Me LA for your help, students like myself truly need your service and you all are doing a great job at ensuring that quality is not sacrificed. Shout out to Melissa, Scott, and Jared for always putting up with me and my last minute request and emails asking questions off the clock. You are all absolutely amazing! Another a great experience! read more

Its obvious that every single review on this page is skewed/made by the creators of tutormeLA. The truth is that it's not that great. Their prices were far higher than the service offered and the tutor wasn't actually that knowledgable compared to others I've had in the past. They spam craigslist with misleading posts to draw people in. Better off finding cheaper tutoring elsewhere. read more

For all the people who have yet to actually try out other tutoring companies and individual tutors and have the audacity to speak negatively, I would recommend giving it a shot so you can realize how great this company truly is. My brother has rotated between unreliable tutors for many years, from isee prep, algebra and English tutoring. Tutors were subpar and far more expensive than here. Mike actually cares about our account and makes sure we are taken care. Keep up the good work! read more

Tutor Me LA is the best tutoring place you can choose! Their tutors are so willing to flip their schedules around to fit your needs. Elliot is so kind and caring, he always does his best to match you with the tutor that meets your needs. It was my second time taking statistics as part of my prerequisites for my major. If it weren't for Elliot and his team I don't think I would have passed, and if I didn't I wouldn't have gotten into my major. Thank you guys!! read more

Our tutor was the best tutor i have ever worked with and probably the best in Los Angeles by far! ... at least that's my opinion :). Shelby was so caring, patient, and smart! She as professional and knew the ins and outs of the SAT. After tutoring my children in the SAT she also worked with them on Math and English tutoring. Each time, my children significantly scored higher, but more importantly they are more confident and like going to school! Finding a tutor was hard in fact very taxing but Tutor Me LA made the process very easy. They were super informative and took time to find a tutor that could fit our schedule which was not easy because my kids play sports and are always doing extra curriculars. Most importantly they checked in with me to make sure everything was going Well and even sent us progress reports for my children so we knew what was going on when we were not there. Thank you Tutor Me LA. FANTASTIC Experience! read more

My daughter scored much higher on the ISEE exam in Math and English! So thrilled! I am so thankful for our tutor and the help of Tutor Me LA for all their help and support. I know it has been a long journey but it was all worth it. Sometimes the schedule got messed up and we were not always available. Serine has worked day in and day out tutoring in Math and all her other subjects and it just turned out fantastic. She works very well with my kids and her knowledge and creativity really shine. We are very happy we hired Tutor Me LA and will conitnue through the next year and beyond. Would highly recommend this service to anyone who wants a tutor in los angeles that they can make like part of the family and cares about thier childrens success. read more

My brother is preparing for the SAT test and they provide expert tutors. This agency provides wonderful accredited people who focus on test-taking strategies. Not only is my brother learning, he is having fun while learning! His practice test results show that he has improved vastly. Observing my brother, he is learning in lightening speed! It was hard finding the right tutor to work with him, until his experience with Tutor me LA. They really do have wonderful tutors, test prep and services that will help anyone meet their educational goals. Not all companies have the level of tutors they provides and in such short notice! I highly recommend giving this company a shot. read more

My son got admitted early decision to his first choice college, and it would not have been possible without the help of Yung at TMLA. We were late to the game in finding Yung. We tried other counselors, but we were so disappointed by their services, and in spite of her packed schedule, Yung took my son as a client. It is important to understand that we were looking for FAR more than just someone to keep my son on schedule and review the accuracy of his application materials. We wanted an expert writer and editor to help him craft his essays, someone with experience of what admission committees are looking for (this changes every few years), someone who would really spend the time getting to know my son and what excites him so she could strategize with him to tell his unique story in his genuine voice. Yung is ALL OF THIS and MORE. She is a expertly trained, and she is a brilliant writer, editor and strategist. With precision and craft, she pulled the very best out of my son by encouraging him to share stories in his essays and other parts of his application that he would not have thought of without her. She coached him on staying genuine to his voice. She challenged him and pushed him to be reach his full potential, and she refused to let him write to impress a committee. Yung is highly intuitive and her methods are organically her own. Her approach differs from student to student but her result in the end is the same. If your son or daughter is willing to spend the time and commit to this process to the best of their abilities most especially when it gets overwhelming and it all seems insurmountable, Yung will be their steady. She WILL get the very best out of your student and her mission to help them tell their story will be some of the best work they will have ever created to date. Every student's dream is a little bit different. My son's dream was Dartmouth College, and Yung was his dream weaver. Thank you Yung and thank you TMLA. read more

Love this company! Brought my 2 boys here for a math and english assessment. After Tutor Me Education identified their weak areas, Amy set us up with lesson plans and schedule. The company got in touch with their teachers and discussed a plan of attack moving forward. My little one especially needed help with reading comprehension so we were lucky enough to get set up with Isabel who has been amazing. Our experience here has been exceptional. Great staff with qualified tutors who have a game plan on how to see results. Make sure you set your account up for session notes and progress reports! read more

Tutor Me LA is AWESOME!!! I have major problems with focusing in class, Tutor Me LA provided me with one on one services, due to their patience and kindness I received an A in my stats class at UCLA! The tutors are very professional and teach the concepts in a manner thats easy to understand. Before Tutor Me LA I never really felt confident in any subject, now I feel like I actually understand because of their teaching skills. THANK YOU TUTOR ME LA! read more

Got recommended by a few of my friends and told my little brother to give this place a try as he was having a little difficulties in his algebra class. He gave them a chance and told me he loved it. The tutors are very professional and spend the time with you to make sure you completely understand the concept. I dropped off my little brother and saw the tutor was waiting there for him; very punctual which is super important when it comes to things like this. It took me a little while until I wrote this review because I wanted to see the difference in his grades at school and just recently I have been noticing a huge bump in his algebra class. Clearly, this is working. Thank you guys and keep up the great work! read more

I found my favorite SAT tutor here 3 years ago and I just hired another tutor last month that was phenomenal! Tutor Me LA didn't fail to impress. I called other companies who were not able to find me a tutor for graduate school. I totally forget that I used Tutor Me LA in the past and immediately gave hem a call. They were able to find me a tutor right away who came to my home in Glendale. I am so happy I found Tutor Me LA again nd would highly recommend to anyone needing a tutor. Oh and for those who want to know, I scored extremely higher on the SAT than my other friends after using one of there tutor. read more

For most of my life I have been an A student. That is why I was so surprised that I was having so much trouble studying for my Organic Chemistry course at the University of California, Los Angeles. Before I worked with Tutor Me LA, I had never hired a private tutor or received tutoring in any way. That is why hiring a Chemistry tutor was so new for me. I knew I needed help, but I did not know how to find the best person to help me. After doing a little of my own research online, I came across this service on Yelp. The information said that they service Beverly Hills, so I decided to give them a try. They matched me with an Organic Chemistry tutor that had actually taken the same course with the same professor in the past. This made studying for the exams soo much easier because he was able to pass along his notes and any of his own personal tips! Tutor Me LA is an in-home private tutoring company which means the tutor came to my home. However, I requested that my first tutoring session be at the Beverly Hills Public library because I didn't feel comfortable having someone I didn't know come to my house. They totally understood my hesitancy and had no problem changing the location of my session. They even offered background checks for some of their tutors upon request, which made me feel a lot better about moving forward. Long story short, all of my tutors ended being amazing, especially the organic chemistry tutor. At the end of the day, I am happy that I could find a reliable and effective tutoring service in Beverly Hills. read more

We needed to hire an ISEE tutor and SAT tutor for my nephew and niece. My friend told me about her great experience with tutors from Tutor Me LA so we decided to give it a go. We started with a tutor who came to their home in Beverly Hills. Scoring well on both exams was extremely important. They wanted to get into Harvard Westlake which was supposed to be quite competitive. The tutor helped with not only exam prep for both the ISEE and the SAT but also the application process. Finding someone the family trusted was really important to us and Tutor Me LA delivered on all ends. We have been extremely happy and have been telling other parents about our recommendation. read more

SAT Prep superhero! This place is awesome was referred to Tutor Me Los Angeles by my daughters high school counselor. He has been preparing for the SAT for the last couple months. Although his scores were not below average he was not up to par with the expectations of modern Ivy League Schools. After enrolling him in Tutor Me Los Angeles SAT bootcamp program, his scores significantly increased!! The staff at Tutor Me Los Angeles was very professional and gave me multiple academic reviews of his improvements over the last couple months. I would recommend this service to anyone in the Los Angeles area looking for a reliable and affordable tutor. I know first hand how hard it could be to find someone that mesh's with your child. I can confidently say that Tutor Me Los Angeles does a darn good job of making sure you feel comfortable before enrolling in the service. Thank you again! read more

After years of hiring independent tutors referred by friends, I was more than unsatisfied. Most tutors either did not have the availability or were not competent enough to properly communicate the materials to my kids. I came across this service by chance through Google and I have never used another tutor since. Besides matching my kids with some pretty amazing tutors, they have gone over and beyond my expectations by constantly checking in and making sure everything is perfect. My 13yr old son has built a relationship with his tutor that is really priceless. The tutor is more than just a teacher, my son looks up to him like a friend or mentor. What is even better, is there ability to offer a diversity of tutors. My daughter is an undergraduate at USC and is getting tutoring in BioChemistry by a credentialed teacher who has taken the same course 3 years ago. I feel silly for just getting around to write this review after years of using this service. I would highly recommend the tutors here to any Parent looking for a reliable tutoring service for their children. read more

A recap of my long experience with Tutor Me LA: I have hired an SAT tutor and ISEE tutor from Tutor Me LA throughout the years. In fact, we are using a math tutor at the moment. The reason I continue working with them is simple, there is no other tutor/tutoring company that I have found to fit our needs like Tutor Me LA. What I love about them: The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable - instead of giving me the run down about what they can do and what they offer blah blah blah, they get straight to the point and provide me with fast service by a tutor that speaks for her/himself. ALL tutors have been TOP TIER - The last 3 tutors we hired had graduated from UCLA, Harvard, and Princeton. Not too shabby considering I would be grateful if we could get into any of those schools. They come to me - Tutor Me LA has sent tutors to our home as well as local coffeeshops in the area. The PRICES ARE FAIR - I looked at other companies like C2 learning and other test-prep companies and they don't even compete with Tutor Me LA. Their prices are far below what others charge and very fair for the high quality tutors we have received. MOMMIES if you are in need of a reliable and good tutor in Los Angeles, I HIGHLY ADVISE giving them a call. I have referred Tutor Me LA to many of my own clients and have received multiple success stories. DONT FORGET TO LOOK AT THE GUARANTEE!! THAT IS THE BEST PART! read more

Caring, intelligent, patient are just a few words that describe the tutors from this company. I rarely write reviews for business experiences unless it has impacted me or my family really positively or negatively. Does not matter the subject, it can be Spanish or Calculus, you will always be working with some one who knows what their doing and actually cares. Our family has been working with this company for the last 3 years and finally came around to show some love. Any one who says otherwise must be a one off experience. Thank you guys, Michael you are the man read more

Now I understand what everybody here is raving about! After countless unsuccessful sessions for my niece, I finally crossed paths with Tutor Me LA. The past two companies we worked with made far fetch promises that held 0 merit for the tutors and programs they offered. Additionally their rates were far above what Tutor Me LA offered for academic Math and English tutoring. Angela, is exactly what we had in mind for a tutor when initially starting the process. Kind, patient, and knows what is required when working with 3rd graders! Great experience and would recommend Angela over and over again! read more

What a great experience! Tutor Me LA set me up with a tutor right away! My tutor Allison is a student at UCLA Medical school. I worked with her consistently for two months and scored well above my expectations. I am truly grateful for Steph and the Tutor Me LA team for making sure I am on the right track. Use Steph for GRE or any math class if your located in Malibu or Pacific Palisades area, shes amazing. read more

We love the tutors we hired from here. My daughter was struggling with math and science and we needed help fast! We called tutor me la and they sent us a couple bios of tutors. The tutor has been working with us for months and we have seen a lot of improvement. We are planning to continue working with her. Thank you so much! read more

I would give minus 5 if I could. This place is a scam. We bought a package of 12 classes. They said they would send their best tutor, "Yung" this woman is a con artist. She speaks like she's very knowledgable, that led us to trust her despite arriving late for every appointment, including an hour late on the first visit. Despite specific deadlines for college essay prep, we were left with only 3 of the 4, hastily edited essays that were almost identical our son's first drafts after 9 hours of sessions dedicated to the essays. We expected to get SAT help in that package of 12 hours, but that was barely brushed upon briefly. We wasted 11 hours of our time and didn't get anything accomplished. The worst part was that we were left to help our son ourselves as we were too late to locate another tutor...not even mentioning the master con artist, Elliot who repeats I just want to "help you" like a robot. When actually he doesn't help in any way. When we asked for our refund, of the 9 hours wasted, we only were offered 3 hours, including the hour we never used, and we were treated by him as though WE wanted to take advantage. We asked Elliot for contact information of the general manager and never received a response. I bet after this review there will be many dubious 5 star reviews to cover the ground they lost. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY, you deserve better. read more

Studying for the MCAT is no easy task and finding an MCAT tutor that was capable, experienced, and an expert was super important for me. I have studied and worked hard my whole life to achieve my goal and the only thing standing between me and it was this exam. Luckily, a friend recommended Tutor Me LA as the go to company for tutors. HE had used a tutor in the past for Chemistry and Biology and had great things to say.  I gave them a call and instantly I felt very comfortable. They had a good knowledge of the exam as well as already had a great tutor in mind for me. She was an MD and received almost a perfect score on the MCAT which was almost too good to be true but I had to try it for myself. The tutor came to my home and covered all the concepts in physics, math, science, and reading comprehension. We worked together for multiple months and I was very satisfied with her skills and expertise.  Overall very happy for my choice and even more happy that I hired my tutor from Tutor Me LA! read more

I read the other reviews and immediately decided to give Tutor Me LA a try. To be honest, I really had no idea where to start. I needed a Math tutor in Sherman Oaks and I needed it FAST. But when it came to tutors, I didn't know how to tell the difference between a good one and one that would really help me. Luckily, Tutor Me LA was so helpful. I gave other companies a call, but they seemed to just want to sell me on using their tutors... at any cost. Tutor Me LA was the total opposite. They educated me about different tutors and how their service worked. Additionally, other companies tried to push me to using a tutor 4-5 times a week!!! can you believe that? The director at Tutor Me LA recommended 1 day and we bumped it up to 2 after 3 months because I was so satisfied with the results I was receiving. Overall, do your homework and find a tutor in your area who is not a million miles away. But if you want an HONEST and RELIABLE tutor call this place and get their advice first. THEY KNOW THIER STUFF! PS: After hiring my math tutor in Sherman Oaks, I have referred this company to my aunt and her kids are working with a tutor in Beverly Hills from Tutor Me LA and could not be happier. Will update this review if I see any changes worth noting. 5 Stars! read more
