For your safety: STAY AWAY.
I went to have an oil change and multipoint inspection on Saturday December 12th. I arrived ~10minutes before the service center opened at 7am and got in the line of seven cars that had already formed. When dropping my car off I tried to use a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation which I was told was expired--that was fine, and I asked my service advisor, Nafwal Ali, for just an oil change since I didn't actually need the tire rotation. I could tell they were obviously busy and I told him I wasn't waiting for my vehicle so I didn't mind when it was done, and he told me to make sure I was back before 5pm when the service center closes since they're not open on Sunday.
I got a call at 8am letting me know my vehicle was done, and I was pleasantly surprised it was finished so fast--I shouldn't have been. When I arrived to pay the cashier and get my paperwork, it did not have a multipoint inspection attached and she told me to go ask my advisor for it. I asked Nafwal about the multipoint inspection, and he told me that since I only asked for an oil change they'd done a "quick" multipoint inspection--even though a full multipoint inspection is supposed to be included with every service. He printed off and handed me a sheet with all of the green boxes checked, including values for my tire tread depth, all supposedly 8/32". I began to suspect a multipoint inspection hadn't been done at all, since my previous inspection had my tires at 6/32".
When my car was pulled up, the technician that got out of it did not remove/throw away any plastic wrap from my driver's seat or a paper mat from my floor--another bad sign, ESPECIALLY in a pandemic. I got into my car and immediately noticed that the dashboard still said "Oil Maintenance Required", another sign that this job had been rushed. I asked for the light to be reset, it was, and I drove off. Now, here's where things get VERY unsafe. I drove off the lot and was about a block away when I noticed a BIG crack in my windshield, which was not there when I'd dropped my car off. I continued driving & took two photos when I reached a stop at the light at Loisdale Rd & Spring Mall Dr (see pictures). I went back to the dealership to speak with the manager about the multipoint inspection that I knew was wrong, and the crack that had been put in my windshield, noting that my vehicle had clearly been rushed since THEIR OWN paperwork said my car was started at 7:35am and finished at 8:03am. After waiting 30 minutes, the manager hands me a new multipoint inspection that's still all green but with new values for my car's tires (now all supposedly 6/32", which is what I TOLD him they were before), and he tells me they didn't create the crack. He invites me to see the footage they have of my car entering and leaving the service bay. He was able to determine and admit quite clearly that I had not had the crack when my car arrived (I spent a decent amount of time directly under a camera and touching things on my dashboard, making it quite clear there was no crack), BUT he wouldn't admit to causing the crack, and as "evidence" that it wasn't there, he played a 1-second clip of my car being driven under a camera which supposedly couldn't be played frame by frame and couldn't be zoomed in on. Even so, it appeared to me that the crack was there, but he wouldn't agree. I left, unconvinced that my car hadn't been damaged in their care. (Where was the footage of my car when it was stopped for ages while I had to get a tech to reset my maintenance light? What did the footage look like when my car was quickly driven under the same camera with a KNOWN crack?) The following morning I took the pictures attached here that show how easy it is for the crack to "disappear" from the right angle.
I got my windshield replaced on the afternoon of Monday 12/14 (the earliest available appointment) and took my car to Alexandria Toyota on Tuesday 12/15. When THEY did a PROPER multipoint inspection they found SEVERAL issues, including that all four of my brake pads and two of my tires are in the "yellow" zone AND two issues which required IMMEDIATE attention: two exterior lights which needed replacing and a damaged steering component, also in need of replacement.
To LIE and say the multipoint inspection had been done when it clearly hadn't is incredibly DANGEROUS, especially when snow was on the forecast for Wednesday 12/16. If I had believed that my "all green" inspection was correct, I could've gotten into a serious accident. AND to top it off, while operating in a pandemic, they didn't even have the decency to put down the STANDARD floor mat/driver's seat protection. If you value your car and your life, STAY AWAY.
Tl,dr: Springfield Toyota didn't do a multipoint inspection AND damaged my car but wouldn't admit to either, leaving me with an UNSAFE vehicle. read more
