AWFUL. If I could give negative stars I would. I bought my 2016 Hyundai Elantra from Priority in October of 2015. The "Priority guarantee" is free oil changes for life. I have had nothing but problems. My last two experiences being the worst. First, they tell me it will be an hour and a half (I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance and showed up 15 minutes before my appointment) I agreed to wait...it took FOUR hours and when I finally asked about it they couldn't find my keys. They said they would pull it around but I found it in the BACK of the building 20 minutes later..my sticker hadn't been updated and my car was just randomly unlocked sitting where no one could see it. My next appointment (TODAY) I had an appointment for 9 AM. I got there at 8:45 and was asked when I needed it...I said 'as soon as possible' I hadn't received a call all day so at 5 I returned to see if it was ready. Nope. Hadn't even been started on. They told me that the appointment times are "check in times" not appointments (but were silent when I showed them the email that was confirming my APPOINTMENT. I asked to speak to the manager Fred Kearns and on top of being condescending from the beginning he just kept repeating that it should have been done and yet, it wasn't. I had to leave to get my son, and was told they would call me before they close at 9. Fine. I haven't heard anything by 8:30 so I called. The DEALERSHIP is open until 9, service closes at 5. So my car is just sitting there. Thanks Priority for the 24 hour Oil Change. I really feel like a Priority. I will pay for my oil changes now instead of dealing with the disorganized, incompetent service department. read more

I made an appointment for a state inspection and 15k mile service. My appointment was scheduled for 0930 and I arrived at about 0920. I checked out at 1135 with my vehicle and a new inspection sticker for the year. It seemed like it took a long time (since I waited in the guest area), however, given the service I requested, I guess it was right on time. When I requested the service, the representative presented me with 3 options to the 15k service and I was able to make a sound choice on which of the three options I needed. This was not a good experience. I went to the dealership because I just started shopping for a new car, I knew what I wanted. The salesmen offered me a very low price on my trade-in and started the back and forth that they do. They were not truthful and put a lot of pressure on me to make a decision that I was not ready to make. They made it very stressful and I will not be back. This is my "opinion" and you or anyone else is welcome to their own and is based on my and only my interactions with this service department. BUYER BEWARE! The service department is the worst in the area. "Priority For Life" is a joke... The service managers and service writers appear to have been through training on how to be ignorant of their products and ignore any and all normal practices associated with customer services, documentation and work being performed. The so called technicians that are actually performing the maintenance show a great deal of ineptitude to even knowing the difference between an alternator and a water pump. Don't ask them the difference between horsepower and torque or even the difference between an open end wrench and a box end wrench. In my opinion the lack of training and experience in their service department will be apparent the first time you walk in and have a conversation! If you decide to use them for any service needs, please research the symptoms or objective of the service you need...there are other mechanics (Certified), or online resources (research only) even some local parts stores can provide free electronic diagnosis (information arming). Be an informed person, it will save you a great deal of stress and money, especially when dealing with this service department! I am an informed consumer, I have been working on or building/restoring cars (ASE), motorcycles and airplanes (FAA A&P, Private Pilot, Flight Engineer) and I hold an MS in Engineering. I will never allow Priority Hyundai Service department to touch my vehicles again, even for a warranty issue. As a side note, another review company seems or appears to only post positive reviews of this service department, again this is just my opinion based on research, this other review company may be contracted and paid for by a major manufacturer and only has focus in one area. Update: Priority team response, my opinion, is fairly typical of an organization that has no respect for customer service. The response is meant to be psychologically neutral and it's actual premise is without action or obligation. My expectation and experience, based on actual interactions and responses from the "Hyundai experience" is and will remain unchanged. As far as Priority team goes, just do your own research... a news article from 2012 (Virginia Pilot, Emma O'Conner, 10/9/2012) the Priority Presidents' action towards a customer only reinforces my negative opinion. Horrible customer service after you get the car. It has been 45 days and I just received my payment information - AFTER a late charge was put on my account. My temporary tags have expired once and will expire again soon and no permanent tags yet. The people there will not return your call or do what they promise. Bought a used car from them and in less then a month before the first payment the check engine light was on. I was told from Rob Seaford that since I didn't purchase the bumper to bumper warranty there was nothing he could do. They didn't try to help in any way like maybe I buy the part and they install it nothing. All they care about is the money and not customer service so if you don't want customer service this is the place to shop. read more

Literally the worst customer service I've had to deal with. My car has just recently been totaled so I was forced to deal with them for about a month. I've only spoken to one worker there who was decent and everyone one else was rude, belittling, and disrespectful. They have bad attitudes, don't know how to have a professional conversation on the phone and act like bratty teens who don't want to be there. I made an "appointment" for 11am on a Thursday for a simple oil change. They were not overly busy but had a small amount of cars there when I came for my appointment. After sitting in the waiting room for almost 2 hours. I finally went backnup to the counter and asked what was taking so long. They said my car was second on the list to be done. I informed the lady that I had been waiting for almost 2 hours and my car was still not even assessed yet? Mind you I had my 3 month old son with me. She replayed with "appointment times are not a garuntee that you will be see at that time, but that they will see you at some point after that time." Well, let's just say this did not fly with me. Invoiced that I wanted my car taken care of next or I would be taking my business elsewhere. They lady agreed. Well after another hour passed with still no ward on my car. I went back to the counter. I could see my car was up on the lift so I asked why their oil changes took so long. The same lady said they were short staffed and that was why they were behind. I did ok and stepped back to wait for them to finish my car so that I could pay. Before leaving I told her that they should inform customers of their appointment details or change their policy along with the fact that if they had just called me to say they were short staffed and needed to reschedule my appointment I would have not had a problem at all. Now, I can't say if I will ever go back there for anything. I can't understand how valoline or jiffy lube can do oil changes on 15 min when the dealerships take hours to do the same thing. read more

I needed major maintenance work done to my car so I looked these guys up on line and unfortunately there are no reviews , so here goes: I sent an email through their web site to ask about the costs of my repairs on sunday, to which i got a reply saying they are closed on sunday and they will contact me monday when they are open ( wow ! amazing ) I got a call on monday after noon with a quote form Bob ( super nice gentleman) with the quote so i took my car there . Bob immediately looked for any recalls done for my car to try to bill the company for ( nice nice nice ! ) then tried to find a way to cut down the cost of repairs if possible ( he was trying to convince me out of buying new rotors of he can grind them ). You just dont see that any more He gave me a loaner car immediately and told me i can return it when ever i have time off form my work Then he called me over the phone to tell me some of the work i have asked for was unnecessary and they he will not do it or charge me for diagnosing it ! I really wish i had lived in virginia because of Bob, descent mechanics are a dying breed! Thank you Bob and priority Hyundai ! read more

One star is still too many. This dealership sells lemons and has the absolute worst service department in the state of Virginia. I purchased a used Elantra in August of 2018. Six months later I took the car back to the dealer for an oil change. I asked them to check the brakes and tires so I would have an idea of the life left on them. They told me they were "in the green". The day after the oil change, I started noticing brake noise. I called the dealership and they told me I could bring it back five days later when they had an appointment. When I took it back in five days later they told me I needed new rear brakes and the caliper was seized. When I spoke to the service manager he told me that "sometimes brakes can wear out really fast and they were probably fine when you brought it here. And you've put 200 miles on the car, you should have brought it right in." I had my brakes done at treadquarters for about half the cost, with lifetime brake pads. I took my car into Priority Toyota for a state inspection, same company just different service people. They failed my state inspection because the tint, which was on the car when they sold it to me, was too dark over the third brake light. When I mentioned that they had performed the inspection right before they sold me the car, it had passed. The tint was the same. When I called Priority Hyundai I was again basically told oh well. Buy from Checkered Flag and service somewhere else. They are snakes and a complete rip off. read more

This is the second car I have purchased from Priority Hyundai great service Don was the best salesman ever. It was poring down rain when my mom and I arrived God Bless this man he came out in the rain with such kindness showing me every care my Mom and I asked about. He also took the time to go over and show me every feature on the car. Also hats off to James the Sales Manager he has always been kind every time I have came there and worked out the best deal to fit my budget with no hidden fees. The first time I bought a car there was my first car I purchased on my own James was was kind to set down with me go over every option I had and the best finance for me. I see one person said he got a better deal at Priority Toyota I find that hard to believe when they tried to get me in my first car having a car pymt of almost $600 that didnt include gap ins or extended warrnty. Thank goodness my mom was with me to stop that deal that is how we got to Priority Hyundai. Now as far as the service dept goes I will say they need improvement I can say my first car I took it for an oil change and the first free car wash they didnt clean the car my car is black but Iam not crazy it wasnt cleaned and it took hours for the oil change even with an appt. just would be nice if they told the customer even with an appt you will have a long wait. then I took my first car to get an oil change they told me all done and gave me the key my Mom made me bring it back had the manager take a look bec she didnt believe the job had been done sure enough the oil change was never done. So for the service team get on board with the sales team so you can make Priority Hyundai 5 stars. read more

We purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis at the end of Aug. 2015 and 2 1/2 months later front brakes needed to be replaced. Service Advisor states the brakes are so bad that they are metal on metal. Get this the price was $530.00 for Front Brakes. When we asked to speak with Used Car Manager he says after his research when they inspected the car to put on the lot it had 7/32nd wear. He claims that we put almost 7k miles since we purchased the car. Which was not true we barely had 4k. His excuse was we put too many miles too quick and didn't help us at all. We took the car and purchased brakes for 60.00 and installed them ourselves. So Now What's Next??? It has an inspection 8/16 so if they didn't take care of something as simple as the brakes what else could be wrong? RIP OFF BUYER BEWARE read more

Got a complete run around from the service dept. for the last 2 days and still have not got the car fixed. My daughter who live out of state bought a used car on July 3rd this car had a check engine light and needed some repairs but, the parts were not in stock. They assured us they would order the part and install it when she was back in town in Oct. Well yesterday it took 2 hours to get checked in after being told they have no record of the car purchase or promises to do repairs. Once I produced the I own paperwork I still had to go through several people to get approval to get the work done. They realized the part was in stock with our name on it. I get a call later in the day saying it was the wrong part and another part will be in in the morning I stated I needed the car ready by 12 because my daughter needed to get back home. Getting there at 1 I find the car not touched and the service tech. saying he can not get to it or another 2 hours we ended up taking the car back without the needed repairs and very unhappy doing business with this dealership. read more

The only good thing I have to say is that I found a car I liked and purchased it. Everything beyond that was shady. Our salesman, Laurence, from the used car dealership, promised he could have the squeak fixed that we heard going over bumps. He gave me a loaner car and I dropped off my (new to me) used car to be fixed. I went to drop off the loaner where I picked it up and the service department had no record of my vehicle. Then I found out that he gave me a loaner from the Chrysler dealer when my car was being "fixed" at the Hyundai dealer... which is apparently not allowed. AND he never logged the mileage. At the Hyundai dealer, they were like oh, we had to order the part. So I brought my car back the next week and did not ask for a loaner after the shady situation of the last loaner. I dropped it off on Thursday. No one ever called me on Friday. I called them, to see when it would be fixed and they informed me that it wouldn't be ready until Friday, but assured me that it would be ready early and they would call me. They never called me. I called them at 4pm on Saturday and they informed me it wouldn't be ready until Monday. All I have gotten is the runaround. This is what I get for buying from a "reputable dealer." I would have had a better experience buying on Craigslist. If my car isn't ready tomorrow, I'm calling the local news. "Nick" at Priority Hyundai Service Center Chesapeake VA and "Laurence" at Priority Used Cars of Chesapeake are as shady as they come. read more

Horrible dealership and service department. Every time my wife has brought her car in for service she got it back with a problem she didn't have before. She took it in for a recall last week, I called the service manager and told him that I think that they tamper with our vehicle and I'm going to look over the car before and after. He ignored me and it happened again. This time he told my wife we had two bulbs out, it was $40 to fix it. She told him to not fix it because I checked all the lights the night before because they've told us we've had lights out in the past that I knew worked. He fixed it anyway, $40 repair and charged her for it. I had to call the sales manager to fix it. It wasn't easy to do because the service writer said he was told to fix it, which was a lie but in the end I got the money back and a flat tire. Yes, the day after the car came back, back tire was flat. I took it to a tire repair man that said what ever punctured it, went in and out. So, avoid this dealership because they have lied to me and my wife and I believe they tampered with our vehicle. Do not go to Priority Hyundai Chesapeake. read more

This place is awful.. The workers I have dealt with are shady and incompetent. I have terrible experiences every single time i come here and I am thinking it is not even worth the free oil changes and state inspections anymore. Maybe that's why they do it, to turn away customers who don't do much for them anymore, since I have my work done elsewhere because most of their charges are ridiculous. I guess it's not enough that I bought a car there, and paid for it in full at the time nonetheless. The most recent incident was taking my car in, being failed on state inspection for a tear in my tire- which is Perfectly fine... but when they tell us driver side rear tire, I take it to another shop, they take off the tire and say other than low tread it is perfectly fine. After this discovery, I call Priority and the service advisors talks to the service tech and they call back to change their analysis to 'oh no, it is is the driver side front tire'. Multiple times it was advised that it was the driver side rear. Maybe they purposely want me to waste my time and money going elsewhere, it is like punishment from them... Or maybe they really are incompetent enough that every time I go there something like this or worse has to happen. Maybe I am jinxed. Either way, I recommend saving yourself the headache and the bill and take your business elsewhere. read more

We bought a 2013 Elantra at Priority Honda (NN).in Nov. For the most part our experience there was good. We had to call them to find out what to do about our expiring/expired temporary tags. My opinion is that the dealer should stay on top of that. Simple solution: mail them to the customer. To shorten the story. Took the 2013 to Priority Hyundia for warranty issues. Tire sensor light. Saw a sign in the service waiting area that they (Priority) wanted 2013 Elantra's for trade. Went back last week and upgraded to a 2017 Elantra. So as far as that part goes in my opinion Priority gets a 5 star. However their "appiontment" for service definitely needs some work. Seems to be a recurring complaint for Priority hyundia. A scheduled oil change should NEVER take 2-3 hours especially when you can get it done at SO MANY other places in 30 minutes or less. Had two visits at the service department at Priiority Hyundia and both times I had to ask why it was taking so long. That's why this time they only get 3 stars. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check under your hood before AND after you have any type of service work done. Oil changes are free however, I know they will find a way to switch and move some parts that are under the hood. I recently had an oil change and asked for all my fluids to be top. After they finished, I noticed my windshield fluid was not full, I actually had ran out because it was blowing air onto my windshield. But I thought nothing of it. I then bought more fluid and filled my windshield wiper fluid tank up and when I turned it on, air was still hitting my windshield. So once again i popped my hood and I discovered that the line connected to the windshield fluid tank was disconnected and looked as if it was physically forced between a metal and plastic bracket towards the rear of the engine. It was leaking windshield fluid that whole time! I am livid and it puts me in high alert!!! Just because they claim things are free, they will find a way to make you pay! Please know you car, pay attention, and be careful. They may act like they care but in reality, it's a business and they need to make money. read more

Too bad I can't rate below one star. I've owned my car now for 3 years (bought it new from Priority). Priority does NOT make you a priority in their service dept. Even though I receive "Free" oil changes and state inspections, I will not return. The stress it takes on me is not worth it. They stopped doing walk in's and now do appts. Ok, how come every time I set up an appt it doesn't matter? Today was the final straw. I had an 11am appt time. It's now almost 4pm and my car JUST got pulled in because I complained enough. I'm over it...Let's just say I will make it MY "Priority" to make sure my friends and family and anyone I come in contact with know that if you are buying a car from Priority because of all the bells and whistles they offer in the service dept then they are wasting their time. It's not worth it. No one cares in the service dept and all you do is walk away upset. read more

I purchased 2 Hyundai Santa Fes in 2014 and it has been the worse experience we have ever had with a dealer. The service department is absolutly horrible and totally incompetent. Every time we take either car in for whatever, we have to go back a second day for something totally stupid. They had to replace my windshield and we had to take it back 3 times because it leaked really bad. They kept giving me excuses and said they could not find anything wrong until finally the 3rd time they found an area that had not been sealed. A piece broke off the front of the driver seat not long after I got the car and they kept "gluing" it and finally after 4 attempts to get it fixed one of their techs said it was supposed to be screwed back on. He did and no more problems with that. They have taken stuff out of my car to supposedly be able to better but the inspection sticker on my windshield and forgot to put it back. The next morning I noticed things were missing and called and they oh yeah, we have it in the manager's office. I just took my car in for oil change, state inspection and replace light bulb. On the way home that evening I noticed the service light was still on and it was telling me I was overdue for service. I went back the next morning and guess what - they forgot to do the oil change!!! I am over hearing "we sorry" and dealing with totally incompent people. I have complained and complained to the manager of Priority Hyundai and it does absolutely no good. I will be trading my car in and switching to Hall Hyundai were I had dealt with for 8 years and absolutely no problems. read more
