Prince Tea House is a super cute spot with really nice ambiance and a great location close to the train, which made it very convenient. We really enjoyed our food: we ordered the egg rolls, a salad, and one of their cakes for dessert, and everything tasted great. I ordered a white tea, which was excellent. My friend ordered a black tea. One small mix-up: we both ordered our teas hot, but my friend's came iced. When we mentioned it, the waitress kind of walked away before it was fully addressed. Overall the only reason this isn't a 5/5 is because the service was a bit iffy. It took a long time for someone to come back to our table to take our dessert order, and the waitress didn't really have answers to some of our questions. My friend also asked for a sweetener like Sweet and Low for her tea and was told they didn't have anything like that, which was surprising for a tea house. I'd expect the desert to be better since that's one of the focuses of the place and because it's quite pricy, but this is my only minor complaint. Our waitress was very sweet, but missing most of the time. I felt like our table was neglected while other tables got more attention. Our waters never got refilled once. One table I believe had some friends of hers. By all means, I have no problem with people catching up, but it does get a little annoying when we're waiting 15-20 minutes for our plates to be cleaned and for our check to come so we can leave. After we received the check, we were ghosted again, and another employee ended up processing the payment for us. I wouldn't complain much if service was busy, but it was a quiet Monday evening. The Matcha Ice Cream was rich and creamy. It was also reasonably priced. The Tiramisu was small for the price, but it was good and left me wanting more. The cream was thick but not too sweet. The Long Jing Green Tea had a subtle flavor, but it was a comforting nighttime drink. I wish the flavor was stronger or that they provided refills. Ahh, English afternoon tea, the lavish life that I have been deprived but now on the other side. Prince Tea House has a very English afternoon tea appeal with chandeliers; crown molding on walls; and 3-Tier metal stand presentation for finger sandwiches, cakes and pastries. Prince Tea House hails teas from France, as per their website. However, there are no English scones listed on their menu which further enhance the whole English afternoon tea authentic experience as this is as close for me. Prince Tea House certainly is a reasonable priced. My choice of food items: G7 Grand Jasmine Chung Feng green tea, $9.50 The porcelain tea pot is adorned in blue flower with matching spoon which depicts a very authentic English afternoon tea appeal. The tea pot sat on a warmer and was aromatic as I always enamored with the fragrant. Smoke salmon SLT, $12.50 The salmon is raw, but very fresh and served with a side of house salad on rye bread. I opt for ginger dressing. I intensely dislike rye bread. I prefer white bread - rather. D6 Molten Lava cake, $11.00 The molten lava cake was served warm with hot melted chocolate center filling. Vanilla ice cream accompanied this dessert with shredded coconut flakes on the edge of the ice cream which taints the ice cream taste. Nevertheless, I did clean the plate (minus the irritant shredded coconut flakes). My customer service experience was blithely indifferent as my server Ryan was inattentive as I had to flag him several times. He was occupied training a new hire and work movement like a sloth for his serving duties who is unable to multi-task. Ryan never check-in to see how I was enjoying my lunch meal either. Menus are located via QR scan code for digital as COVID-19 pandemic era lingered in year 2024 for eliminating paper menus. No, paper menus?! For five (5) years I was the Paper Princess at my former employment of a high-end stationery and paper brick and mortar shop. The chatty noise volume was moderately loud despite without any background music. Credit and debit cards are accepted. This Prince Tea House is accessible via MTA NYC Transit E, F, M and R trains at 71st Avenue & Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills. Business cards are available for grabs. Didn't notice the decor as much while sitting on the lower level. Service is friendly and fast. Didn't know it closes by 10pm on a Saturday night but at least we had about 45 min to enjoy our coffee/latte and dessert trio ($10, can pick 3 from a list). Cranberry creme brulee (with caramelized cranberry topping) , a couple of fruit tarts, pate a choux which didn't get soggy with the green tea ice cream. There are a lot more pastries on the menu but even with tiny portions in the trio, I liked that we had a variety, were not overly sweet. After living around forest hills for a while I finally decided to check this spot out. I had gone to the prince tea house in Astoria years ago and found it be okay, but I had heard that this location was better. I went on a Saturday night around (8:30pm) there was a bit of a wait, which I was a bit surprised about, but I guess everyone craves tea and dessert around that time too. We scanned a QR code to be put on the waiting list and from there it was about a 15-20 minute wait. It was definitely a bit loud, so if you're looking to enjoy tea in a quiet spot, this might not be the place on a Saturday night. I got the lavender green milk tea and my boyfriend got an Oolong tea and they were both really good and soothing. We also shared the purple yam mille crepe cake and a lava cake which were super tasty and not overly sweet! Even though they were really busy and everyone seemed to be running around with orders, the staff were all so friendly and attentive. They were great. Came right at 12PM because we learned the hard way one time that wait time can be more than one hour in the afternoon on a weekend or holiday. They had a small party being set up so the staff was a bit frazzled and it took us quite some time to communicate we were a party of four looking to be seated. Once seated, our waitress was calm, cool and collected. Super efficient and kind. Love that we can access the menu via our phones and QR code. Ordered a three course meal so we could have the full experience. Twister fries - your average curly fries. It was overly fried for me. The blister causing type. The kids loved it even though their mouths hurt after a while. Sante Fe Chicken Rolls (limited offer) - these were not overly fried. Done just right. Good portion of homemade guac and the ingredients in the rolls was a great flavor combo. Easy to eat and can have a tiny kick of spice for kids. Salted Crispy Chicken - I always like to try this anywhere that sells this and theirs is pretty good. Light on the salt and breading. Good chunks of meat. Nicely done. Drinks - latte, mango slush and passion fruit green tea. All good drinks. Not doused in sugar and liked that the mango slush had bits of mango in it. Katsu Chicken Brioche sandwich - This was a good combination with lightly breaded chicken and soft toasted bread. The house salad is a nice touch - makes you feel healthy among all the fried food! Smoked Salmon SLT - good sandwich. Enjoyed the lightly toasted bread and their house salads come with ginger dressing. Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crepe Cake - this is what I've wanted to try since they opened and it met all my expectations. Fresh ingredients including the milk and boba that you pour onto the cake yourself. Deliciously satisfying combination. Lovely dessert to end your meal with. Molten Lava Cake - takes about 10 minutes to get after ordering. It was good with the vanilla ice cream and is a good dessert for those who are chocolate lovers. Tofu cheesecake - wanted to try this unique offering on the menu. This isn't for everyone. The presentation is beautiful. It looks like a panna cotta but isn't. Taste is as what you expect tofu cheesecake to be and the consistency is like a cheesecake. I do like the berry spread they put on the plate as it adds a dash of flavor with the fruit. Overall, a really fun meal with the family here. Kids thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Their bathroom is beautiful and clean. Super kid-friendly sink as it's perfect for their height to wash hands. Once we sat at our table, service was impeccable and all staff was attentive. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and there were a few people but it quickly filled up. You could tell there are regulars, which is nice. This is a staple dessert spot with multiple locations across the city. The forest hills location is a great addition to the neighborhood if you are in the mood for something other than Martha's! The milk teas are exceptionally great with the rose and earl grey being two of my favorites. Chocolate lava cake is a great pick me up dessert but if you like fruity desserts there are a plethora of options available. We decided on: - New York Style Cheesevake - Mixed Fruit Mille Crepes Cake (Limited Offer) - Purple Yam Souffle (Limited Offer) - this takes 20 mins to wait. I asked the waitress if the other 2 desserts can come out first. She did and brought out the desserts which kept my VIPs occupied until my dish arrived. I recently visited Prince Tea House, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a comforting tea experience in Queens. I like the cozy and semi-elegant ambiance especially for a quick tea with friends. As for the tea selection, they have an extensive menu with a variety of teas from classic black and green teas to unique blends. I usually opt for their Rose tea (hot) or the Assam Tea (iced), because I tend to gravitate towards fragrant teas. The desserts and curly fries have great portions, and taste amazing. The hot teas come with a teapot warmer- very necessary. The only negative is that I need the teas to be sweet to bring the flavors out, but the teas are never sweet enough in my opinion. I end up getting them with 120% sugar (yeah it sounds wild but this is the percentage that makes it just sweet enough but not too sweet). read more
