A friend who now lives near Grand Rapids spoke highly of her experience at The Parlour, so I knew I was in good hands. The Parlour is located at the City Flats Hotel. Service from the start was truly wonderful and I felt like a princess the entire time I was there! I wish I knew the name of my stylist because she deserves a raise. Getting my hair or makeup done always gives me anxiety, but I've never felt more comfortable or at home. The stylist (again, I wish I knew her name!) talked to me while she washed my hair and together we figured out what kind of style to do for the wedding. We decided to do a sleek blowout because I typically wore my hair straight as is. I really loved that she didn't try to pressure me into a different style as well. My makeup was AMAZING! She made sure to ask questions to make sure of what I wanted and that I was comfortable with everything. I mentioned that I prefer a more natural look and every step of the way I was asked if I wanted something darker or lighter. I felt like my time and opinions were, which isn't something about every salon I've been to. Overall I plan on driving to Grand Rapids just to get my hair done again. I know that sounds crazy since I live in Metro Detroit but that's how much I loved my experience! Well worth the drive!

As others have said, his feedback was super valuable, and I feel more confident in my hair/look than I have in a while. This was my first time, and it surely won't be my last.

My hair was insanely frizzy and just overall unruly and unhealthy. I looked like I went through a tornado. And I was expecting a pretty high price for the treatment but for around 240ish she could make my hair look so much better. I immediately booked an appointment! That price is honestly really reasonable for how my hair looked initially and how long it was. (Another place that shall not be mentioned told me 360 maybe 390) Nicole was a super sweet person and has really great advice for how to take care of my hair after the treatment. She was just overall a kind and sweet lady! The results of my treatment was night and day. The frizziness went away pretty much completely and it was so soft and shiny! I will say I absolutely love the person I always see when I come to Bombshell though. To be more helpful for others, I will write this review on the actually business itself and not the stylists since that is harder to review. When you walk in you cannot help but feel the hip chic cuteness immediately. It is definitely noticed that the place spent time decorating in a certain way with the absolute specific items they wanted displayed. Back by the washing stations I absolutely love the time it took to paint the design on the wall. It looks awesome and you can tell a lot of time and patience went into creating it. The place is always super clean and tidy. They offer many different drinks from local coffee from Herman's Boy-my favorite, nice teas and water. There are also champagne shaped glasses available but I do not know if that is what they serve. The atmosphere is really relaxed, and even though the place is nice, it isn't a place your feel that you are stuffy in trying to feel like a certain status. Great product available for purchase as well. From conversations I have overheard from other stylists and their clients, the conversations are always positive and super helpful. This is a hidden gem for sure!

I paid $185 for a cut and color with Marah and left extremely disappointed…read more Marah was very nice, but unfortunately the results did not reflect the consultation we had beforehand or the level of service I expected for that price point. I clearly explained that I wanted the brassiness removed and my hair toned to a cooler, ashy shade using permanent color to cover my grays. Instead, a red tone was deposited across my entire head, my grays weren't covered, and according to the salon manager, permanent color wasn't even used despite that being what I requested. The haircut was also visibly uneven. For nearly $200, I expected a stylist who could follow what was clearly discussed during the consultation and deliver professional results. Unfortunately, the outcome was the opposite of what I asked for.
