Sandwich without toppings ordered.

Order was basic but wrong. Big "t" with pickles and sweet peppers- didn't have either. Also had hot peppers on the side- not included. Huge disappointment. The place was empty- so I can't even consider that it was because they were hush.

Awesome food, service and property. Not too loud. Prompt service and perfectly prepared subs. Good value for the price. I'll be back!

Place is so expensive. The sandwiches aren't as good as Jersey mikes. Everyone in my family was disappointed.

I had been there twice now and although the 2 young ladies behind the counter are nice, I can't recommend the bagels. They are huge but not light and fluffy, but doughy and too chewy, kind of gummy. I went there to eat with a friend recently and it was probably about 92 degrees outside and they were the only business with the door open! Yes, they had a working AC but the owner doesn't want to put it on. They have ceiling fans, but the staff was not allowed to turn them on! Gee, so much for the customers! Other people were asking as well and of course who would want to eat there? We had salads, which were a decent size and nice presentation, but I had about 50 mini olives on mine (way too much) and guess what? They all had pits! And many were rotten. I'm guessing they cut corners by choosing olives with pits, but that's bad for customers and they were bad quality. Lastly, before we were even out the door - with no more customers - the owner/manager came out with a large industrial can and sprayer of pesticide treatment, spraying around the edges of the floors.

I love them. The wings are a bit on the smaller side but sauce and cooking is great. The chowder flavor was great it was a bit thinner that I prefer and more potatoes would have been perfect. Lastly the special drunk grandpa pizza was great. Quiet in here tonight but it's a Sunday in a local pub so as expected.

As you will see upon arrival the door mentions that Shakey Jakes is recognized by Yelp & NJ.com as one of the top Dive Bars in Jersey. Bartenders are super friendly, helpful & professional. I sampled Bombay Sapphire, which is offered in a small glass or beer goblet...humm okay I'll bit let's go Big! I ordered the Steamed Clams, which come with croastini. On the menu it is offered with a Cajun Garlic Butter, I replaced that with just the regular drawn butter. Wow--wonderful nice size clams with the toasted bread, delicious. I loved it so much I had a second order. If you are are a steamed clam fan don't forget to sample the clam broth. This place is a keeper. I sent a picture of the front door of Shakey Jakes to my wife and son. I mentioned that "If I go missing this is the place to start." I showed the text to the Bartender, she got a huge kick out of it and said you are not from around here are you?

Food: We started with garlic bread that was absolutely awesome, followed by grilled octopus with a perfectly balanced, succulent marinade. I had shrimp with pasta, while my mother-in-law enjoyed a fillet of sole stuffed with crab meat and my wife had the cavatelli with broccoli. Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. Service: Our waitress, Casey, was excellent. Always checking in and very polite throughout the meal. She made the whole dining experience feel welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Aesthetic: The restaurant has a warm, inviting look with stonework accents along the walls and an open barn-style concept. The lighting creates a comfortable atmosphere, and there's plenty of seating for both small groups and larger gatherings.

My husband and I split the Florentine Omelette with hashbrowns and the Ricotta Pancakes. The omelette was tasty, though the potatoes weren't quite my style. The restaurant itself has a bright, open feel and would make a great spot for a private event.
