If I could give a NEGATIVE star rating for this company, I absolutely would…read more Mike Mitchell with with Ocean Pools Spas & more is a liar and a thief. We signed a contract with Mr. Mitchell in May of 2021for a $54,732.00 swimming pool that was supposed to have rock coping and a small rock wall with fountains. The hole was dug on July 13, 2021. Rebar was put in (incorrectly...pictures attached), the bottom of the pool was poured and the plumbing and light were put in the pool at the beginning of August 2021. And then our "pool" sat there, UNTOUCHED, until JANUARY 2, 2022. We continuously contacted Mr. Mitchell during this time to try to get him to come work on our pool. We consistently questioned what the hold up was and were given the run around over and over again. On January 2,2022 the sides of the pool and tanning deck were blown with concrete. In mid-February of 2022 the tile was put in the pool. From mid-February- April 26 2022 NO WORK WAS DONE ON OUR "POOL" at all. From April 27--May 10, 2022, trenches were dug around the pool and plumbing was laid from the pool to the where the pool equipment was supposed to go. May 11-June 13, 2022 there was NO WORK DONE ON OUR "POOL" at all. Again, we continuously attempted to get answers from Mr. Mitchell as to what the hold up was with working on the "pool". We were given excuses about a rock shortage (for the coping and wall) and were told over and over again that it would be completed by July. June 14- July 8, 2022 the pool area and backyard were graded, rock coping was installed (incorrectly. And still no progress whatsoever on the rock wall and fountains), and the deck formation was put in place (incorrectly). On July 11th of 2022, we called the city of Bentonville and found out that Mr. Mitchell had not paid a bond and had been working on our pool illegally since January 2nd. We also found out that NO inspections had ever been done on our pool by the city. Mr. Mitchell also lied on the building permit application and stated that our "pool" was going to cost $49,900. We found this suspicious, so we called the state licensing board. We were told by the licensing board that Mr. Mitchell's builders license only allowed him to build things BELOW $50,000. We then went back to the city of Bentonville and did some more digging. We found that the plumbing lines had NEVER been inspected or pressure tested. At that point, on July 13, 2022, we reached out to several other pool contractors and asked them to come look at our "pool". Every single other contractor gave us the same opinion......DO NOT MOVE FORWARD WITH OCEAN POOLS. We found out that the rebar was put in incorrectly and would not pass inspection, the plumbing materials were the wrong size and pipes were too small, the coping was not level and was installed incorrectly (so much so that one contractor was able to tap it with his foot and an entire rock fell off), the pool light was huge and out of date, and the elevation was all wrong and would have caused flooding into our home. We then FIRED Mike Mitchell and Ocean Pools Spas & More. After a year, and $43,700 later, we had to hire a new pool contractor to build a pool inside of the crappy pool Mr. Mitchell left us with. We have not seen a single penny of the money he stole from us. We have tried to go through his insurance company, but he has only minimal coverage. We have tried to go through the state licensing board, but he was just fined. We now have an attorney. We have since found 7 other families who he has scammed and stolen from. DO NOT HIRE MIKE MITCHELL with OCEAN POOLS SPAS & MORE. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM HIM. Please don't fall for his lies. HE IS A PROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTIST. ***See pictures below of Mike Mitchell's subpar and atrocious craftsmanship.

We…read morehired mike to build a 45,500 pool and he dug a hole in our yard added rebar that would not pass inspection from a structural engineer, and we had to pay him before the gunite was shot. He never fixed the issues we had and called me a son of a bit@$ on the phone. He stole our money that we had to prepay for work that was never done. Now we are having to pay lawyers to try and get our money back. I have done research and he has had 11 lawsuits in the past 10 years against him. He leases his equipment from his personal account, so that you have a hard time getting any of your hard earned money back that he stole. He did the same thing to our neighbors down the street. The workmanship on his pools is awful. We paid over 25,000 dollars for a hole, shotty rebar and the worst concrete base you have ever seen and that took over 3 months. Please do your research and don't get stuck in the same situation we are in.

AND!! new yoga classes early in the morning and free child care for mom's who rise early but still want that special part of their day. REASONS TO JOIN!!!: FIRST: If you have any questions the staff is so friendly, this was my immediate draw to the gym. They will show you anything and have so much available for singles and families. You'll never be bored here. ALSO!!! They have great competitive rates. They have corporate discounts TOOOOO!!! They care! SECOND: I don't feel awkward here, I quite like walking in and saying hello. I'm always made to feel like "hey", "glad you're back!" Feeling comfortable lifting weights as a woman for the first time here has always made me feel like... "if I can do it"... you can do it. I never lifted weights in my life, and here somehow i found the courage watching similiar average fitness people trying really hard to figure it all out. This is difficult, but seeing the demographic around me, I felt confident everyone was secretly looking around and feeding off of the obvious intention of everyone. We were ALL trying to better ourselves and I just "felt" that vibe. It's priceless and I encourage everyone to come and join in. THIRD: It's very conveniently located near the NWA Mall... literally right down the street. Soooo, in the summer I can just pop over to lake fayetteville after a workout and enjoy a slow walk and get some outdoor nature time. FOURTH: pure selfishness... I want more people to come and give me courage to keep trying.

They have good instructors for their classes & the guy on the reception was nice too. Hopefully they will try to renovate and put TLC on it in the future and I'm hoping they will have more classes later on most especially aqua classes like aqua Zumba, aqua steps (or maybe even aqua bike!) after the pandemic.

I called and got bid from about 5 companies in NWA, and although Burton was on the higher end... I can tell you it is 110% worth it. I would not have traded a few thousand dollars for the quality and care we got throughout the whole process. I was living in California during my planning process and knew it could be tricky trying to get someone on the books living so far away at the time. Our sales rep was Whitlee! He was my first point of contact and walked me through the whole process of the pool. He came out to see the pool location before we even moved to the area. At that point I knew customer service was something they greatly value. We booked them in January 2020 and they started the end of April 2020. We chose a 16x36, 6 feet deep concrete pool with full end to end steps and a padded vinyl liner (it doesn't tear up my kids feet). We got an electric heat pump (which is awesome), a salt system, in floor cleaning system, a 3 LED lights that change colors. We also added the cutest giant concrete stepping stones rather than a traditional sidewalk. I love it so much and it really makes it look modern. During the process we upgraded the concrete to have a hand scrapped border (see pics below). Our project manager was Josh. He walked me through every step of the process and answered any of my questions (which I had MANY, ha). The teams doing each part of the project were fast and efficient. I have truly never seen harder workers in my life. I told Josh the project manager they all deserve a raise :). It was just under 4 weeks from the time they started digging to the time we were swimming. I was literally shocked. I know that timeline is not the norm because we didn't have a ton of "extra" things like water features and retaining walls, etc. But still... 4 weeks is impressive. Chris installed our vinyl liner and pool cover. He came to our house Memorial Day weekend just to make sure I had chemicals to swim for my opening weekend. I was so thankful he took time away from his family to do that for my family. Our pool lesson was with Jay. He was so patient and took about an hour to show us every feature and how everything works. I've probably called/texted him 4 times in the past week asking him questions because I couldn't remember what he taught me and he joyfully answers all of them. So in recap... I was nervous to start a big pool project because I have heard horror stories of people saying it was 6-9 months building a pool and that you never know when people will show up, etc. Burton was on-time and on-budget. I always felt like I knew exactly what was happening and when. In the end we have a beautiful pool even better than I imagined.
