They provide medication for it, but at some point, we (as the patient) accepts that possibility when we agree to surgery. Also, it is true that the patient would need to speak with a dietician. However we are struggling with money and I understand that most of the surgery is covered by insurance so we had to pay $625 for a $19,000 surgery that's not the issue I had, the issue I had was paying $200 for a "counseling" session to make sure she's ready for having the surgery and then paying for a lifetime of protein shakes and vitamins is ridiculous! We are already struggling! We got some good information from the dietitian, however once we called to let them know we couldn't afford to do the surgery they just immediately quit on us, like i understand that but she payed $100 dollars so at least let us finish the sessions. They are money hungry goblins that are horrible people would never recommend!
