The gym itself has equipment meant more for people who know how to workout and are muscle builders. I wouldn't say this is a gym to lose weight was their cardio equipment is limited. I also wouldn't say it is a beginner gym, compared to planet fitness. However, I knew what I was doing and have worked out for a few years. If you are a muscle builder, there are several squat racks and free weight stations. There is no AC at all, which was my chief complaint for the price of this gym. They have several fans around to circulate the warm air however half of them are off half the time (got a picture of one off that I'll attach). So yea it is normally over 80 something degrees inside and it's like working out outdoors. You sweat from just being in there sometimes, not mention if you do cardio you will probably overheat on a hot day. If you're the type to workout after work when it's warm, it's gonna be real hot. Only recommend morning and late evening when the sun is somewhat down. This place keeps the doors open, therefore bugs and flies get inside and sometimes get on your skin when you get sweaty. Staff isn't that friendly. They're usually working out or on their phone when I walk in. No eye contact or anything. I've walked past the owner of the place several times and he always ignores me when I check in and he will be on the other side of the counter a foot away from me. Owner isn't very friendly to members, unless you're in his private classes. I've never been greeted at this place by a staff member. The bathrooms are pretty gross, obvious they don't get cleaned for several weeks. Fecal particles around the brim of the toilet, brown smudges on the walls. The place itself is kinda beat up, holes in the wall, big hole in insulation in the ceiling, some places you can see the insulation of the wall due to lack of wall, cracked mirror in one of the corners. Hours on their website are not accurate for weekends at time of posting, the update was only posted inside the gym. Prices on Yelp are outdated. ------ Overall I think the equipment availability is great for someone who knows to workout and is looking to build muscle, the big downside is there is absolutely no AC for the somewhat hefty price paid to be a member, and lastly the place isn't very well maintained with the bathrooms being dirty, bugs/flies in the gym and holes in the wall.

Worst experience. Won't be going back…read more I paid a year Membership in advanced, only to be rudely denied entrance after not immediately paying a 5 dollar fee...I even tried paying it but they didn't accept the type of credit card I had, and I was still rudely denied & not allowed to work out after the long drive there. I paid the fee and vowed not to come back. However, months later I came back with a friend who had a membership on 'bring your friend Friday's'. Upon entering I was rudely told that he wasn't sure if I was allowed in the establishment, and he had to make a phone call.... Embarrassing and uncalled for. All of this noise & drama after we paid a years worth of membership in advance ... over a $5 fee. Worst gym, owner, and staff I've ever affiliated with. Never coming back.

I've been coming back to this gym for years. here goes…read moreeveryone It has: indoor pool a hot tub sauna racket ball courts. upstairs circuit training and classes equipment for cardio equipment for lifting (recent new machines I have yet to explore... can't wait) Pretty much EVERYTHING. AND!! new yoga classes early in the morning and free child care for mom's who rise early but still want that special part of their day. REASONS TO JOIN!!!: FIRST: If you have any questions the staff is so friendly, this was my immediate draw to the gym. They will show you anything and have so much available for singles and families. You'll never be bored here. ALSO!!! They have great competitive rates. They have corporate discounts TOOOOO!!! They care! SECOND: I don't feel awkward here, I quite like walking in and saying hello. I'm always made to feel like "hey", "glad you're back!" Feeling comfortable lifting weights as a woman for the first time here has always made me feel like... "if I can do it"... you can do it. I never lifted weights in my life, and here somehow i found the courage watching similiar average fitness people trying really hard to figure it all out. This is difficult, but seeing the demographic around me, I felt confident everyone was secretly looking around and feeding off of the obvious intention of everyone. We were ALL trying to better ourselves and I just "felt" that vibe. It's priceless and I encourage everyone to come and join in. THIRD: It's very conveniently located near the NWA Mall... literally right down the street. Soooo, in the summer I can just pop over to lake fayetteville after a workout and enjoy a slow walk and get some outdoor nature time. FOURTH: pure selfishness... I want more people to come and give me courage to keep trying.

They have good instructors for their classes & the guy on the reception was nice too. Hopefully they will try to renovate and put TLC on it in the future and I'm hoping they will have more classes later on most especially aqua classes like aqua Zumba, aqua steps (or maybe even aqua bike!) after the pandemic.

**1-Star Review - Serious Cleanliness, Maintenance, and Pest Issues at Springdale Planet Fitness…read moreoff Sunset Blvd. I've been a regular member at this Planet Fitness location because it's convenient to my job, but the men's locker room and showers have become unacceptable. **Pest problem:** Over a week and a half ago, at around 4 AM, I saw a cockroach crawling all over the water filter/drinking fountain right outside the locker rooms near the main entrance. I also noticed what appeared to be roach feces on the fountain earlier this morning. With 12+ years of pest control experience, I'm confident this isn't an isolated sighting -- German cockroaches seek water sources, and seeing one in a lit, active area during early morning hours suggests an infestation with eggs likely in the walls. I immediately reported it to multiple team members and called customer service. Responses were always vague ("I'll tell the boys," "I'll generate an email," or "I'll let someone know"). Nothing has been fixed. **Bathroom and shower conditions:** The men's restroom consistently has: - Trash scattered everywhere - Strong mildew odor - Pubic hair on floors, in showers, and under sinks (same hairs visible for over a week) - Smudge marks on walls, lockers, and sinks and is very putrid The showers are even worse. Most days there is no hot water at all (confirmed by multiple other recent reviews). Specific issues I've seen repeatedly: - 4th shower on the far right: clogged drain that causes flooding - 1st shower on the left: broken faucet handle - No soap in any dispensers - Today, blood was smeared on the walls of the 3rd shower I had to cut my shower short and leave immediately due to the health hazard and ice cold water. I've seen members use the restroom and return to equipment without washing hands -- lack of soap doesn't help. This has been ongoing for months based on other member complaints. It's a multi-million dollar facility, yet basic maintenance and cleaning aren't happening. The men's side seems to get progressively worse. **Other concerns:** - Early morning shifts often have no staff at the front counter. - I've occasionally seen what appear to be homeless individuals in the men's locker room, raising safety questions about access control. - The parking lot area can feel sketchy at times (people yelling or acting erratically nearby on Sunset Blvd). I've tried giving the benefit of the doubt and reported everything politely and respectfully multiple times. Today crossed the line. I expect basic cleanliness and working facilities for my membership dues (including the recent $52 annual fee). Please address the pest issue, restore hot water, stock soap, and deep-clean the locker room/showers properly. Hire and train staff who actually follow through. Other Planet Fitness locations in NWA are noticeably better. Attached are photos from my recent visits. If you're a member here, please do your part with common courtesy and cleanliness too.

In between Zoom calls, I popped out and got in a workout followed by a shower. Plenty of space at…read more9am on a Monday for a go on the thirty-minute circuit with all the equipment working. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Every time I have walked into the studio I have been greeted with a hello or welcome. They have 8 saunas, the first four saunas are set up for isometric workouts like Hot Buns, Hot Bands, Hot Yoga, etc. The last four saunas are set up for H.I.T workouts, they have two Hot Cycle saunas and two Hot Blast (cycle workout that involves arm movements). Because of Covid-19 it's one person (plus a family/friend if you feel comfortable working out with them in an in closed space) per sauna. The saunas are big enough and normally set up for three people to workout together. If you are looking for a place to workout then I would highly recommend HOTWORX. The rates are really reasonably and they have a family package deal also. Plus the first workout is free.

There are 8 saunas at Hotworx that have a three-person capacity for workouts, but during the Covid-19 emergency, rooms are restricted to one person or two people from the same household. Each sauna has a 15 or 45 minute block of exercise. There are 10 different workouts to choose from. Two of the workouts are 15-minute HIIT workouts on stationary bikes, and the other 8 are 30-45 minute isometric workouts. The saunas are open 24 hours a day. Each workout is taught by a virtual instructor. Each of the 10 workouts is the same for a few months, but if you alternate the workouts you do each day, you'll get plenty of variety. As for the saunas - I was skeptical of the benefits that were being promoted, but consider me a believer now. I feel really great during after each workout. My criticisms of Hotworx: I am thrilled that masks are required in common areas, but not all members are good about following the rules when the gym is not staffed. This has improved recently, however. Also, the Hotworx app to track calories can be buggy. First workout is free, and I recommend checking out Hotworx.
