Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but let me assure you, it's a treasure chest inside. It's clean, modern, and food and service is incredible. The choice of paint and decor is exceptional. You walk by thinking it's some trashed down place, but once you step through those doors, your in a whole new world. They are constantly cleaning up tables and messes, making sure there is no room for disgust. Staff are incredible and really treat you like family. No matter your a regular attendee or just happen to stop by for the first time, you'll receive excellent service and have your needs meet before you make them! The food is exceptional! The "bifana" (Portuguese word for pork in a bun) for example, is incredible. It's dressed like a classic American burger, but with pork in the middle, it tastes so juicy and savoury all at once. The way the lettuce combines with the sauce, and the pork with the bun, together they make perfection. Believe me, once you come here, you'll always want to come back for more. read more

I live in Ramsay, and pass by this place every day. My boyfriend and I decided to give it a try after work tonight. We started with the Calamari, which was delicious! Just the right amount of breading, and lots of flavor, it was so tasty! Also cooked perfectly, which is often not the case. I had the steak sandwich and he had the pasta, which were both very good. Nice big steak, thick cut fries, I was very happy with my choice! There was also a zucchini salad with sautéed onions on the side. I was impressed with the sautéed onions, they were obviously cooked with care, very sweet and added a lot to such a small part of the meal. I think it's easy to overlook that and send out half-cooked onions. Silly, I know, but it was a nice touch. The service was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and made sure we had full waters and everything was taken care of, even though she was quite busy. I think whatever bad experiences people have had here in the past are just that, a thing of the past. I'm so happy that we have such a hidden gem just down the street. :) read more

Well, as I said in my first review - I was only cautiously optimistic about this place. Turns out, with good reason. Have been back twice since my initial review, and the last time will be the last. The spaghetti was almost inedible. The vegetables on the side of the ribs my husband ordered where boiled to the point they were falling apart. My chicken breast was dry, sitting on top of a very limp (old) salad. I give them a year. Tops. Too bad. read more

Was looking for a good place for food for our first day in Calgary, just moved from Saskatoon. I really wanted steak, and steak is what I got. Honestly though I have to start with the Caesar salad, the dressing is homemade and you can tell. As well as the croutons, huge difference from your boring Caesar salad. I was not expecting to have such a delicious salad. Then I had the steak, with mushrooms, and a stuffed potato. The steak was glorious, perfectly seasoned and cooked a beautiful medium rare. The stuffed potato was amazing, and they serve it with a sour cream that is homemade. Who homemakes sour cream?! These guys. All in all, this place is an absolute gem. Price is excellent for the quality, which is outstanding. I'm honestly in disbelief how good the food is here, because from the outside you definitely can't expect it. It's a wonderful atmosphere as well, and staff are incredible. We got served by Roy and he was such a pleasant person to talk to, his wife who's name I didn't get is also fantastic. This restaurant has changed hands three times in as many years now and it's not that much of a shocker. Delivery comes fast and the servers are friendly and accommodating but this is not going to make up for barely mediocre food. I've given it quite a few chances because my boyfriend likes them and they are close to us. The fries are made from real potatoes and when they are cooked properly taste nice. Pastas and burgers are very greasy and bland in flavor. The fish dishes are usually extremely overcooked and despite saying the halibut was pan fried with olive oil and lemon, mine came with a light breading which did not help the meal. The gravy is different every time and on some occasions even has cumin, while on other occasions tastes like gravy mixed with Swiss chalet sauce. If I find a good dish I will edit my review so that it reflects all sides of possibilities. read more

100% f**k yeah. I find there are very few places like this in Calgary. Nothing overly special about decor or pizzazz, but the food is down home cooking, and the staff is friendly, funny and very prompt. While other "family eateries" lack the close knit atmosphere, Prime Time is simple and timeless. The food is bang - on every time. It's quick and the portions are great. Highly recommended for a casual dining experience. P.S...Debbie the waitress is hilarious. read more

I enjoy this place. I never expect much from a neighbourhood dining spot but it's clear they dont just settle on being just good enough to serve. Its not fancy, but i don't expect that, but it has a decent atmosphere and the food has always been great. I'd recommend this as a good family spot or a great place to hangout with your neighbours for a coffee and pizza. read more

I have been to this restaurant on many different occasions and needless to say I was surprised when I read some of the previous reviews. The owners and staff are friendly and genuinely care about how the people like their food. I have yet to find a steak in Calgary that can be cooked the way I like it, at an affordable price, Prime Time is the place if thats what you are looking for. The calamari appetizer is probably some of the best I have ever had. My favourite plate has to be the chicken souvlaki, so delicious I almost licked my plate clean! The pizza is fantastic, and stands out from other pizza joints because you can actually taste the fresh toppings. Yum. Since the place opened up and was taken over by new management, I have been pleasantly surprised and have become a regular. We need more family friendly restaurants like this in Calgary. I have spread the word to many of my friends, all of which have left the place with only good reviews and have all returned. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to my next meal! read more

There have been some great pizza places in Ramsay, George's, Paul's then the Spillery, all of whom produced great pizza, so good in fact that many times when we entertained we'd just order pizza - all to rave reviews. You can imagine our hesitance to try Prime Time after Paul's and Spillery made such pies. I was even more skeptical when the person taking my phone order said it was "even better". Well, I can tell you we just ate a terrific pizza. We ordered the Chef's Mistake and it was as good if not better than the Spillery. My only mistake was I forgot to order extra cheese like I use to do but we'll definitely order again. The neighborhood still has great pizza. read more

Third time is not the charm. This place is 1/2 a block away from me which is probably why I was tempted (lazy?) enough to give it three tries. The pizza sauce is riddled with what tasted like cumin which gave it a strange, overly sweet taste and the crust wasn't cooked nearly long enough. On 2 separate occasions I'd ordered: 1-plain 'ol fries and 2-Poutine. Both times they managed to undercook the french fries. How hard is it to deep fry potatoes Apparently pretty hard if you're "Prime Time Steak House". It's predecessor "The Spillery" had better quality food, and it's food was lack luster at best. Don't waste your money and time, go somewhere else. read more

Three of us went for friends birthday. Two steaks and one herb chicken. Meals were great, service outstanding and more food than we could eat. I would definately go again. Can't beat it for the price, $69 dollars and we each had a drink and a shooter. read more

I live in the area, and have tried it a couple of times. Food was horrible. The pasta came with water still on the dish. No care taken in preparation. The owner sat in the corner entertaining a number of girls. He did come over and ask if everything was ok. He saw the plate with pasta and water on it, and didn't say anything. He introduced himself as the new owner, and welcomed us. Shame on us for not complaining. He gave us the perfect opportunity and we didn't do anything. That doesn't me we'll go back. read more
