    calamari
    chewy b.

After years of hearing about this place we have a chance to try it. We wanted to try a little of everything. We had the calamari. $18. It was very light crispy thin calarmari rings with bit of tomato, onion and lemon. Dusted green onions. pretty tasty. we also had the Lunch steak 6 oz on garlic slice bread with salad. fresh but unremarkable and then the pizzas Diavolo. overly sweet and very spicy. flavors unbalanced. and the Kardiakafti.. lacked beef and also unbalanced flavors. I brought it to my teen and she hated the pizzas and ahe loves spice. Both of these pizzas won YYC pizza week so i can only conclude someone in kitchen doesn't know how to make. They did not taste good. great service. I would not go out of my way to return though. The pizzaa were supposed to be the highlight of the meal but just really sucked. The ambiance was dated and a lot of photos of memories. Wish we had a better eating experience here.

Thumbs down and for good reason

Hype was quickly squashed We went to Nicks after not only having it recommended but seeing google had rated it so high. First off. This place is an old 60''s style family restaurant. Old time feel. But it's clean and kind of throwback fun The service was friendly and we're happy to get you settled in and comfortable This is where it's stops for the positive I could nit pick this place but I'll get to the point. They can't cook a steak. The NY Strip was 1/2" thick and was cooked well done TWICE After asking for Med Rare. The steak was such a bad cut both times full of gristle, thinly cut and wasn't a striploin. It was a chewy sirloin. The steak tasted of really dirty grill and was inedible. The seasoning wasn't good either The pasta was undercooked and stuck together in a ball which required a knife to cut it into bites The pizza is over cheesed meh. Nothing to get excited about. For 2 kids and 2 adults with no desert and tip it came to $192. Save you're money and spend it at the Keg as they are quality and consistent for that price range I wouldn't roll the dice on this place. Try somewhere else. Some nostalgia and google review hype is just plain outdated and incorrect.

Great food, amazing ambiance, classic family restaurant. This place should be a Calgary landmark. An applicable 90's quote, "I'll be back" Stopped in here based on its proximity to our hotel and will definitely be going back. Nick's is a throwback for any 80's child. As soon as we walked up to the restaurant I knew it was going to be amazing. It was like the place came out of a time capsule. The red vinyl benches in the booth took me back. My wife said she knew what the menu's art would look like before she even opened it and I knew exactly what she meant. It was nostalgia. Our server and the wait staff were all friendly. It was a quiet Wednesday night, so we had a very attentive waiter that made sure everything was just right. I'm sure if it were busier we still would have had a great detail of attention paid to us. Portions here are on the larger scale. Make sure you ask before you order too much! We had a small lunch for 5 the next day based off of our leftovers. Any place that is a steak and pizza restaurant has to have good pizza and the kids loved theirs. The pizza bread was cheesy and fantastic, with more than a paper thin crust. The meat sauce to dip it in was thick and tasty, seasoned perfectly. And portion size was on the larger size. The pizza was a nice thick slice with ample toppings. No skimping here. The house salad was tasty, if not a little over dressed. I'm a little different here given recent weight loss goals, but if I had to find fault it would be that the salad dressing was a little much. Tasty for sure, but a little too much of it. But don't get me wrong, I still finished the salad! My wife shared a full rack of ribs with our daughter and the meat was top quality. A little saucier than I would normally like, but tasty. They tossed more fries than they ate, but not because of taste. Even the fries were fantastic; nice and thick, looking like homemade. The Creole Chicken was tender, nicely seasoned and spicy as advertised in all the right ways. The baked potato came still wrapped in the foil and you can have as much topping as you like with your server at the table side offering them traditional garnishes. Nick's tries to support local, using beers from the area while offering popular national brands too. Their desserts are in house or come from the area pie shop, which is a nice touch. The bill came in lower than my expectations and that's probably the portion size muddling it. Bang for your buck, this place is better than the Canadian national chain sit down pizza joint that families flock to, and that I grew up eating in. This is a special place that I look forward to going back to. It's a hidden gem. Can't wait for our next trip to Calgary.

    Lamb Chops @Nick'sSteakHouse excellent

Hometown fave Nick's Steakhouse (est 1979) is the perfect family-style restaurant for any occasion. Always great service (thanks Tandy!) and high quality meats. Try their lamb chops, absolutely huge serving size and the best in flavour. I definitely want to try their steak and lobster combo but not for the $90 price tag when there's better in competition for that at other steakhouses. The Nutella gelato is locally sourced and absolute fire.

Awesome!Steak is so juicy! Highly recommend taco salad! Steak is medium rare so tasty!

    Steak & Lobster

My oldest son treated my husband & I to dinner at Nicks Steak House on the weekend . We haven't been here for several years. It was a Sunday and lots of people were enjoying dinner out . I ordered the lamb dinner , husband had a steak sandwich and our son had the steak and lobster . We had appetizer of calamari which was tender & excellent. And an order of garlic shrimp in a delicious sauce . They brought extra bread to soak up the tasty sauce . Our meals were generous and we were so stuffed , there was no room for dessert . Our waiter was very friendly and always attentive to our needs . We enjoyed our dinner out and hope to return again !

    Ribye Steak delivered was excellent!

First time using their new delivery service and it was excellent! The steak was hot, the salad crisp and cold, the garlic toast was perfect and all trimmings were packaged well. My ribye was delicious. It was delivered quickly too. I already live Nick's Steakhouse and there extended service reflects there high quality.

I love this place. I am never disappointed when I visit Nick's, the food is always hot and made to perfection from scratch. Staff is always friendly and provide amazing service and are always friendly. We had a classic burger on this visit which was amazing and a homemade patty. Caesar salad didn't disappoint either. The atmosphere is so classic for an old school restaurant of this style. I grew up going to restaurants like this and always loved them as it's not a chain and if you food or service is lacking you just wouldn't survive.

Weekend brunch buffet. Lots of options. Pretty tasty too.

Service: impeccable. Food: top notch…read more Location: trendy. We took a stroll down 17th and decided to stop in after hearing rave reviews. Well, they lived up to the hype. We cozied up to the bar given there was a wait for a table, but honestly I preferred it. We got the 4-maggi, a carafe of the house Sauvignon blanc, and the simple garden salad that was anything but simple. Our waiter was attentive and quick with we needed (shoutout to the chili oil made in house and side of chili flakes), which was amazing given he was making some pretty intense looking cocktails.

Unfortunately, found both pizzas to be a little too greasy. Also wished it was crunchier instead of floppy. The beltline was just okay. Not that flavourful or unique and the meat was very hard/overcooked. The veggie pizza (my usual order at pizza places) was such a flavour bomb that it really surprised my partner, who is a very big meat eater. Every topping on the veggie pizza was flavourful enough to stand on its own to top a single topping pizza. Tried half with hot honey and half with the ranch, we both preferred the ranch. Overall, we found the pizzas expensive but might go back to try other items or the take out slices they offer during lunch time (11-4pm, 2 slices for $8) I also wanted to try their chocolate chip cookie, but the $10 price tag didn't seem worth it.

However, we wanted to try a new place and tried 900 degree because of the reviews. I do think the pizza is good. For the Hawaiian they are cheap with their ham and could have put another layer especially for the price. The crust is ok nothing special. Unfortunately being from Regina I have had so many good quality greek pizzas and this location is not up there. It's located on 14th street by a very small strip mall. That was the situation tonight. Place the order online like we have in the past (your website is TERRIBLE btw... links to leave tips for the driver are inactive, menu listing is a mess... invest in someone fixing the site.) We see that you offer no contact delivery... great food,; no contact delivery offered... it seals the deal for making a purchase. The delivery takes longer than offered but we know the food is worth the wait. Suddenly, a knock on the door. Instead of the order left there for us, a 3rd party driver is asking for us to pay for food we believed we had already paid for. Allegedly, the online order is "on hold" and the business requires a "hard copy" to prevent getting ripped off. If shady customers have taken advantage of your offer with declined credit cards and the like... that sucks. But you need to fix the system and not offer a service you aren't capable of delivering on. Not ordering from this place again until you can follow through on what you offer.

And no medium pizza is worth $40, unless it was truly stocked and it wasn't. We would've been much better to go to Boston Pizza or anywhere for that matter! Blaze pizza is amazing and it wouldn't have cost near that much money. I just feel like crying for my son who was just trying to do something nice for us. If you do order never ever ever order from Uber eats! Order from Paul's. That was stacked meat. I honestly could cry for my son. For him to waste that much money that he worked hard for. This is an incredibly mixed bag. I'll start with the negatives so I can end with the good stuff…read more As someone else mentioned, the wings are on the smaller side, but 15 for around $14 isn't a bad deal these days and frankly I'd prefer more smaller than less bigger. Personal preference, but obviously not everyone will agree with that. The bigger issue is that they are breaded. The pictures on the website make it look like they are traditional chicken wings, they definitely aren't and there is quite a bit of breading on them. This matters for a few reasons. The first is unless you are talking boneless "wings" a traditional chicken wing is unbreaded. If you serve a dish that is prepared in a non-traditional manner you should probably footnote that. The next issue is caused by the first. When you have a breaded wing that is then spun the breading gets soggy and you essentially end up with a chicken sponge. When your restaurant only functions as a takeout/delivery location that sogginess gets compounded by the breading taking on moisture from the steam. Hot soggy mess. The good? Well the Extra Hot sauce is actually extra hot! Which is great! Most places their hot tastes like ketchup and their "extra hot" tastes like ketchup that was stored near a bottle of Franks Hot Sauce. The sauce was well flavored and a great heat level. Other thing, their blue cheese is just so-so, but their garlic dipping sauce is outstanding. It almost reminds me of the garlic sauce that schwarma places serve. The lady working there was also really nice.
