I got the Filet which had minimal seasoning, but that could just be my taste..I like it salty. The birthday boy ordered the Ribeye which on a scale of 1-10 he gave it a 7 because again just ok. We were early for our 5:00 seating so it was still light outside. The glare coming in from outside meant I couldn't even see my dining companion. Romantic mood lighting is one thing but for goodness sake people, invest in some lighting. I didn't attach photos because it was impossible to see the food. That being said, the food for the most part was exceptional! The exception in our case was the ribeye. It was a little tough and very thin. Otherwise the standouts honestly were the French onion soup and wedge salad. We could have made a meal of them and called it a day. Also could have saved ourselves about $150. However, we actually went there for the food, and, as just about the most expensive place in Stockton, our expectations were high (the tab was $190). My wife ordered prime rib which came lukewarm so she sent it back. But, it was cooked just as she ordered it, and she rated it average; nothing exceptional. I ordered filet mignon and it was lukewarm, but I tolerated that. The roasted potatoes were also barely warm and way too salty. The beans were lukewarm and chewy. The steak, ordered medium rare, came medium, and was the toughest filet I ever put a tooth on. They do provide steak knives, but I had to hold the knife and fork in my fists like a bumpkin in order to cut it. Prime Table would have earned a 2 (3 outside) all things considered, if the price of the meal was half of what we paid, because it is true in the end, you get what you pay for. I went to Prime Table about 2 weeks ahead of Thanksgiving to ask about their Prix fixe Thanksgiving menu. Michael, the house manager, was very nice & gave me a copy of the menu & discussed my order with me. We decided to have the House Cut Prime Rib dinner, which included a starter, full entree, and dessert. Since we were going to order 2 meals, we decided on the following--Starter, organic baby lettuces w/champagne vinaigrette + wild shrimp cocktail. Entree, prime rib with mascarpone mashed potatoes & creamed spinach. Dessert--Stockton's classic sour cream cheese cake + pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I have to say, each courses was plated very well, nice presentation. The green salad was made with a very nice selection of greens, all very crisp & fresh. The shrimp (4 large) came with a kimchi cocktail sauce (so good!). The prime rib was very rare & flavorful with options of 3 horseradish sauces (medium suited us). Potatoes were fluffy & not over seasoned. The creamed spinach was made with a classic bechamel sauce. The desserts were quite good. The cheesecake is creamy & rich enough that half of the slice portion is the perfect finish, but definitely have them box it for you to bring home for a wonderful dessert after the Black Friday shopping spree. Indeed, the cut was fit for a king - beef quality was excellent and the taste was delectable from dry aging. For sides, I got the roasted mushrooms and a loaded baked potato, both were fantastic as well. The dinner rolls they serve are also quite delicious and served with whipped butter. My date ordered the New York steak medium rare and it came out perfect with so much crust!
