Then walked up to pay and saw they had 2 paper menus sitting on the counter but never noticed those. My other friend got a coffee...with lavender syrup because she's bonkers and also was too chicken to try kratom. I added a little sweetener that they had available (I think raw sugar) and took my tea to go. I got to sample a little Kava and Kratom upon walking in because I had never tried them before. The employee explained what they were to me because I had never heard of them. They are supposed to help with anxiety, stress, and mood. Kava is a root and Kratom comes from the leaves of a specific tree so both are essentially plants. After sampling them, both tasted very bitter to me so I didn't like it which is fine (haha). The Kava had a dirt or grainy texture and the kratom had a lighter but more bitter flavour. The employee did mention to me that both would taste bitter and earthy. I did not order any drinks with them upon sampling them but they sell an assortment of drinks that include Kava and Kratom. Customer service was friendly. If you like Kava and Kratom or want to try it then come visit this Sacred Waters Kava bar in Lakewood. It's not my preference.
