Needing a General Practitioner, we persevered in our search and are so lucky to have found a pot of gold in the form of Dr. Manoj Aswani at Arroyo Oaks Medical Group in Thousand Oaks several years ago. My husband and I feel that Dr. Aswani epitomizes "excellence" as far as a physician is concerned. He's very knowledgeable, patient, kind, a great listener, and has a wonderful way of explaining the "whats" and "whys" of any treatments that may be necessary. One of the things I especially appreciate is his way of making me feel that I'm important, and that my concerns are legitimate. My husband is in 100% agreement. Another definite plus is Dr. Aswani's nurse, Jenn. She, too, is an excellent example of what a person in the medical field should be. She's friendly, pleasant, helpful, knows exactly what she's doing and extremely efficient. There's never been a time that she hasn't returned a phone call, which is amazing, considering the patient load. They're a great team, and I/we recommend them highly. I also want to mention the front office staff, since they're the first people we see when we sign in, and they're so important. Over the years we've come to know Veronica, who always has a smile and a special greeting for us. She never misses a beat or loses her cool as she deals with the constant phone calls, paperwork and forms, booking follow-up appointments and questions from patients. Suffice it to say, we're happy!

If I could give Dr. Farridah Shafiee more than five stars, I absolutely would. In fact, five stars…read moresimply aren't enough to describe the extraordinary level of care she provides. Dr. Shafiee is truly one of those rare physicians who remind you of what exceptional healthcare is supposed to feel like. She combines the personalized, hands-on attention that patients value so deeply with the knowledge, energy, approachability, and perspective of modern medicine. That combination is incredibly special. What sets Dr. Shafiee apart is that she genuinely takes the time to CARE for her patients. You never feel like you are simply the next appointment on her schedule. She listens. She asks questions. She pays attention. Most importantly, she makes sure you understand what is happening with your own health. Whether she is reviewing laboratory results, discussing a physical examination, explaining a test, addressing a concern, or walking you through the next steps in your care, she is incredibly patient and thorough. She will explain something once, twice, or as many times as necessary until you feel completely comfortable and satisfied with the information. There is never a sense that you are being rushed out the door. That level of patience and personal attention is priceless. And I can't write this review without recognizing Jennifer, Dr. Shafiee's wonderful right-hand assistant. Jennifer is an absolute gem. She is kind, sweet, responsive, and always so pleasant to work with. Whether answering a question, helping with a request, or simply making sure communication flows smoothly, she is a tremendous asset to the practice and beautifully complements the exceptional level of care Dr. Shafiee provides. I also appreciate Leslie and the important role she plays in triaging communications and helping ensure that messages and patient concerns are appropriately relayed to Dr. Shafiee. Having that communication bridge is an important part of a well-coordinated medical practice, and her assistance is also appreciated. Dr. Shafiee is the absolute gold standard of what a primary care physician should be. Five stars aren't enough to describe this amazing doctor. She deserves an entire constellation!

They handled it with amazing efficiency and very little administrative friction. The tests they ran were accepted and he received the operation successfully. Upon returning home realized he needed PT and home healthcare. He called to see if they could help him arrange for that, along with some follow up labs. They turned him away. The person on the phone said, if he wanted that kind of service he'd need to sign up for their concierge program. With the exception of the surgery he needed, the patient is healthy and historically has not needed frequent visits to the doctor. But now he's going to need to establish a relationship with a GP or something, even though Luxer initially appeared to be a very convenient solution for people like him, who aren't at the doctor's office a lot.
