I've had Dr. Kornder as my PCP for about 30 years and have followed her to I believe it's been 4 different offices. I absolutely LOVE her!!! I'll never leave her for that reason. I just wish she worked out of a different office. They never return phone calls and rarely answer the phone. She is fantastic, it's the office staff of the doctor she moved in with that is terrible. I would put 0 stars if I could. I had an extremely bad experience with this office. I saw Dr. Kornder once, and I honestly believe something is seriously off with her--either mentally or possibly due to substance use. She spoke extremely fast and seemed very "wired," which made me uncomfortable from the start. Her attire was also unkempt and unprofessional. The office was dirty and unprofessional as well. When I needed a referral to home health, she said she would do it right away (on Monday 1/6) and she said I would hear from them tomorrow. I did not hear from them that Tuesday. When I called home health, they said they never received the referral. I attempted to follow up with her office only to be treated badly by her front office person. My request was that the referral was not received and could she please send it in ASAP. The front office girl said she would give the doctor the message. As of Thursday, the request was still not sent in. When I was able to reach another person in her office, that person confirmed the fact that the doctor never sent the referral. Then, I got a call from Dr. Kornder herself on Thursday. Her initial and only verbal contact was to yell and scream at me and accuse me that I had no right to call her office and tie up her phone lines - making other accusations as well. She was totally out of line. She never addressed the fact that she never sent in the referral request. She attacked me verbally and very, very abusively only to confirm my feeling that the woman is severely unwell. Nobody, let alone a medical professional, should treat a patient this way, ever. read more

Dr. Beverley Kornder is by far the best Doctor I have ever had. She was able to properly diagnose and treat a health issue I had for almost two years when 4 other doctors before her could not resolve it. I have been seeing her for 5 years now and trust her completely. She is kind, caring, patient, thorough, and up-to-date on the latest practices. Nothing against this woman personally, I'm sure she is very nice. She just spoke way too quickly for me and I could never understand what she was saying. Also, I felt like I was always getting lost in the shuffle of the office. I left this doctor to go to someone who could take more time and slow down with me. read more

Unfortunately, I never got the chance to meet Dr. Kornder (explanation below) so this is not a reflection of her but her incompetent and apathetic office staff. I had been suffering from sever shoulder pain and reached out to Dr. Kornder's office. The woman I spoke with suggested I visit the Urgent Care next door for immediate assistance b/c the doctor wasn't able to see me for two months. I went to the Urgent Care, as recommended, and had x-rays taken but there was nothing they could do other than prescribe pain killers and muscle relaxers. I didn't want something to mask my pain, I needed someone to identify what was wrong with my shoulder. Ultimately, I needed Dr. Kornder to provide a referral for an orthopedist. Days had gone by without a follow up from the Urgent Care or Dr. Kornder's office. I was then told after that the doctor cannot approve the referral without seeing me in person. Again, her first availability was two months away. I asked what I should do and was prescribed more pain killers and was told to call back in a few days. I called back and was told nothing had taken place because my insurance denied the request. Come to find out, Dr. Kornder's office somehow obtained insurance information from my old employer. I never once provided old information and in fact faxed and emailed my new insurance info to the office. No one bothered to call me to let me know this and days had passed until I called and found out this information on my own. I'm absolutely certain no one would have told me this information if I didn't reach out. I again provided my current insurance information and was told it would take another few days. I called back a few days later and was told the same exact thing - my claim was denied. And again, they processed the old insurance information despite a lengthy conversation about updating my insurance information. After being utterly fed up with their behavior and lack of action, my wife and I walked into her office and demanded to speak with her or the office manager. The referral was handed to me within five minutes. Again, I have never met Dr. Kornder and this review is not a reflection of her in any way. Throughout this whole process, the office staff was extremely rude and couldn't care less about my particular situation and to make matters worse, they blamed me for delaying the referral. By the time the referral was processed and I saw my orthopedist, I was prescribed three different pain killers and two muscle relaxers. Its no wonder our country is in the middle of an opioid crisis when things like this happen. Anyone who is thinking about her as their doctor should think long and hard whether they want to deal with this level of disrespect, unprofessionalism and lack of empathy for someone in need by the office staff. read more

Love Love LOVE this doctor! Getting an appointment is never a problem. Their offices are clean and nicely decorated. Their front office staff are friendly and accommodating. Dr. Kornder is compassionate and thorough. She doesn't rush you through and will take time to explain things to you in lay-speak. I've been going to her and her partner Anita Srivinasa for about 10 years and have no complaints. read more

Dr. Kornder and her superb staff are always willing to squeeze me in for emergencies and last-minute appointments. I have been with Dr. Kornder and her staff for 10 years and would NEVER go anywhere else. Even when I didn't have insurance, I paid the cash co-pay to see her because of her honesty, sincerity, straight-forwardness, and overall pleasant demeanor. She has always helped me with whatever ailment I have had, and I trust her opinion over any other doctors' because she has taken the time to get to know ME. I also love that she is always available through NextMed and is always quick to respond to my sometimes unorthodox questions and requests. Dr. Kornder herself was always pleasant enough and professional. That being said, her office staff during the time I was a patient of hers were nothing short of terrible. The woman at Kornder's front desk seemed to become ruder and ruder with every appointment. One day I made an appointment through this particular woman and showed up at the office only to be told that I didn't have an appointment... This is where things got weird. Even though I was speaking with the same woman who I had made the appointment through, she claimed (in a very rude manner) that I never "confirmed" my appointment at the end of our phone conversation and so she had taken it off the books. What?! I know for a fact that I absolutely did, so that made no sense at all.. She had absolutely no regard or apologies for the inconvenience. She simply stated curtly that if I stuck around for 30 minutes that Kornder would be able to see me. 45 minutes later I approached the window to ask how much longer the wait would be. That woman was no longer there (she had apparently taken her lunch break); however, a slightly more friendly woman was. Unfortunately this lady had no idea what I was talking about when I told her that the other woman had said that if I waited for 30 minutes that the doctor could still see me, telling me that Dr Kornder has absolutely no openings that day. I was infuriated! I walked out of their office never to return again. I was truly shocked & disappointed by how unprofessional and downright rude the office staff was. Dr Kornder is nice, but not worth the frustration and inconvenience of dealing with her terrible office staff. Both myself and a family member of mine who were patients of hers for many years decided to find a new gynecologist after my last experience there. read more

Dr. Kornder has ben my husband's and may doctor for over 4 years. She's the only doctor I can get my husband to go to, because of her compassionate, caring and personable nature. What a disappointment. What a disaster. The office staff is unprofessional and rude. I was told by their office and billing people that a claim could not be resubmitted a second time with additional information. This is false! If I didn't know better I might have believed them, and it would have cost me a lot of money. The doctor also claimed to have seen me for things during my appointment that we didn't even talk about. This is both fishy and fraudulent. I would not recommend this office. They also do not seem to understand HIPPA rules and privacy. read more

Scheduling an appt with Dr. Kornder is a nightmare. You have to keep calling every two weeks to see if they have availability. If the time doesn't work for you, you are out of luck. You have have to wait two more weeks to call in. Dr. Kornder is ok, but customer service by her staff / scheduler/ telephone receptionist is incompetent. read more

First, I'll say Dr. Kornder is a great doctor and very personable. I started seeing her roughly 8 - 10 yrs ago when my usual GP became an MDVIP doctor. I found her very caring and competent. I will say, I agree with others, the front office staff on Haaland Dr. was not the least bit likable. I don't have enough experience with the front office at Lakeside to comment. When her and Dr. Srinivasa moved their practice to Lakeside, things changed. Now, as others have experience, it takes two months to get in to see her. When I've had an immediate issue, the pat answer from the office staff has been to go to the Urgent Care - IN SIMI VALLEY!! When I do get in to see her, she is her same lovely self, but so incredibly rushed that even my physical exam left no time for questions or concerns, and she forgot to note in my file that she'd given me a flu shot, as well as forgot to include the cholesterol test on the bloodwork she ordered and said she wanted to check. When I called her office to point out that it was missing, it took over a week for me to get a call back from her M.A. Now, I blame Lakeside's management for the pressure on the doctors to squeeze as many patients as possible in per day, limiting the time doctors can spend with patients, as I never felt this tremendous rush with Dr. K. before she joined Lakeside. However, and this is where the rating went from 5 stars to 3 - earlier this year I called for an appointment and I got the usual 'she can't see you for two months'. But Dr. Srinivasa had an opening the next day, so I saw her as it was an issue that needed immediate attention and tests ordered. At no time did I feel the same rush with Dr. S., as I had experienced the last few times with Dr. K. As both doctors are working for the same Lakeside management, there is no reason for one doctor to 'bow' to the time pressure, while another doctor keeps a better focus on the patient. My family now uses a different clinic for primary care. read more

I travel over 25 minutes to see Dr. Kornder. She is kind and trustworthy. You can not find a more ethical doctor. The appointments never take too long, but at the same time you feel she absolutely gives you her 100% attention and you leave knowing that you've had all of your questions answered thoroughly and are never rushed! I was referred to Dr Kornder by my GI physician. I needed a physical and had been looking for someone in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake area. Made an appt and was told by the front ofc staff that this was just a "get to know you appt". In my mind that IS a physical. Met Dr Kornder. She is a very pleasant person but spent most of her time trying to figure out how to input all of my medical history into her computer. No eye contact whatsoever!! Blood pressure taken, listened to my heart and lungs and asked many past medical history questions. Sent for blood work. Said if there was no problem with my blood work she would see me in a year. Maybe it's me but I'm my mind this visit was a physical. Received a bill from their business ofc. Insurance refused to pay because this was not coded as a physical. They would have paid 100% of this if it was coded as a physical. Contacted the ofc and they refused to change the coding. I pay $1600 a month which includes preventative maintenance at 100%. This includes a yearly physical. Thinking by billing me more than what insurance would have paid is their way of working the system. Shame on you Dr Kornder!!! read more
