Dr Yousefia has been serving different members of our family for years. Recently I brought my Mom to see him hoping to have him as her primary care physician. Although I had always thought highly of him, this visit blew me away. The kindness and respect he showed her was something to see. My mother has dementia and he spoke to her directly first, then to me for confirmation. He asked her permission to enter the room and again before each step such as listening to her heart. His exam and questions were extremely thorough. He spent ages looking through her long list of conditions and medications. He asked in depth questions about her health, symptoms, surgeries and recent hospitalizations. He adjusted her medications. His assessment was spot on. There was not enough room for both my sister and I in the exam room so he independently invited her to sit down in his office afterward to address any concerns she had about my Mom's care. All of this, in spite of the fact he knew she would need to be seen by someone with a specialty in dementia. He provided several recommendations and even followed up with us. He could have easily started out by simply referring us elsewhere, instead he provided her/us with his valuable time and expertise. I trust him completely. An amazing experience. read more

What I appreciate most about him is his patience and interest in me during my visits, his willingness to adjust his schedules to squeeze me in when needed, and his old school practice style which reminds me of family doctors of the past...before the era of urgent cares. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I'm still bothered by the staff when trying to make an appointment. I must say, I never got to meet the much-loved Dr. Y, but his staff was so rude and unhelpful I was turned off completely. The first thing she said when I called to book a physical was, " Just so you know, Dr. Yousefia does not prescribe painkillers". Ummm ok? I asked for a physical, I didn't even mention the word pain. I found that odd. Then told me I needed blood work first. What? Where? When? Can you explain? After asking where, she hands me 3 sheets of addresses I can get it done. Please be more informative. Hands down the best general physician in Thousand oaks.Have been to other doctors in TO but was never happy with them.Finally found Dr Yousefia who is a very good doctor ,knowledgeable and takes time listening to you,got good bed side manners.and suggests proper treatment. I made an appointment but was told after I arrived he would not see me because I was under Covered California insurance. I asked how much the visit would be without insurance and was told $95. I said I would pay for the full price of the visit since I was already there. He saw me and eventually refused my payment of the quoted $95 and said he would bill my insurance and let me know what happened. After not receiving word for several weeks I called his billing department and was told I owe $176.00 now since the Doctor bills insurance more than the non-insured. Now I have to pay almost twice as much for a 10 minute office visit in which half the time I spent listening to the Dr. complain about Blue Shield and the new contract offer.
