This company is trash. Wish I could give it no stars or just hit a button saying SCAM. There's good solar companies out there. This is not one of them ladies and gentlemen. Every positive review on Facebook and probably this was from employees or people with a FB given $20 probably. This company if you can call it that is owned and operated by a ceo con man named Shawn Roby that's a pathological liar. He's so manipulative and deceiving that he literally just deleted my four paragraph review I wrote on their fb page two days ago. Now there's no reviews on fb lol they obviously disabled them. I'm far too tired to type out alllll of the exact frustrations word for word so I'll sum it up. Funny how THIS one will be the shorter review lol. Anyways, this CEO Shawn Roby came to the home of my fiancé and I and signed us up for solar and a roof and literally just lied through his teeth the entire time; to the point where he's telling us he's got kids in college. As if we're stupid enough not to do a background check on the guy signing us up with a sixty thousand dollar renewable energy loan. He's got zero kids and a rap sheet the length of a Harry Potter book. The CEO Shawn Roby has been accussed of fraud, embezzlement, assault in the third degree, tax evasion, etc. He lied to us about the warranty on the solar system, lied to us about the tax benefits, lied to us about the installation process. Lied to us about the kids he doesn't have. We only looked into him because he was a horrible sales man. We saw right through his used car salesman crap performance. The guy was so grammatically incorrect he sounded like a roided out bald 2nd grader. Yet he spoke like he owned the room. Honestly I felt bad for that man for about half a second. Then I hated him. I'm not sure how he gets away with things like this as we contacted the department of consumer protection and they're very familiar with his name and have heard nightmare stories from him like him mistreating and abusing his employees verbally and emotionally. Him extorting them. Hiring people for the main purpose of squeezing a couple of sales out of their close contacts like family and friends and then firing and threatening to sue them. Seriously YELP fam, the owner of this company is a despicable and pitiful individual. If the solar system was free and on top of that he was paying us to go with this company, I'd never give it a thought. American business is better than Prime Energy ladies and gentlemen. I hope these guys are closed down soon. Go ahead and contact half the people on his social media accounts, they all hate him and know he's a conman so he's not even a good one. The company that installs and owns our actual solar system hate him as well. So his partners have been trying to rid him from their lives for over a year now apparently. They've never dealt with anyone as unprofessional as him. He's clearly burned every bridge in his life. Everyone hates him and knows he's a pathological liar that extorts and threatens customers and the very people that make him money. Google this man's name before going with this company if you don't believe me. Scroll down and even if you need to pay 4.99 once for a background check PLEASE do it. My fiancé and I aren't as disappointed in getting solar as we are that we made that despicable, lying guy a profit. Anyone can feel free to message me about this man and company. You'll find that I'm more than a credible customer to listen to whom has never typed out a review this harsh in my life. Just trust me, he deserves it. read more

I did a lot of research before choosing a solar company and by far Prime Energy was the best. They brought the most value to the table. And Shawn Roby, the CEO, personally thanked me for my business. Any solar company can sell you panels, what matters is the dedication to customer service, quick direct service and warranty when something happens, smart design, and true consultants NOT salespeople. They had the best incentives, the highest referral payments, answered all my questions intelligently (and I had a lot of questions!) and when I asked a question that Ben, the consultant, didn't know he made a phone call and immediately got an answer. I was also surprised when Ben was able to do everything for me himself. All the other companies had one person for design, one for proposals, one for pricing, one for add-on services, one for every little thing. So the rep was really there just to close the deal, and that's how it felt. With Prime Energy they were able to do it all as obvious professionals. I'll be honest, Prime Was not the lowest gross cost, but all the additional incentives, trust, customer service, and value are worth a LOT more than $1000 difference in price. They even have their own energy drink! lol read more

I'm shocked at the reviews listed here for Prime Energy, the number in the review below is incorrect. Prime Energy is not in California, they are New England based. We just recently gone solar on our second home with Prime Energy again. It was an amazing experience and additionally I'd like to note the customer service is amazing. There was not a moment where we were concerned or unconfident that the company would provide the best product tailored to our needs as they did with our first home. Not only would I recommend anyone to contact this company to go solar and eliminate your electric bill but I'd also like to say that the owner promised us that when we sold our house with solar that it would be a breeze, which it was. Additionally we sold our house for $23,000 over market price and moving into our new home we were able to roll over the cost of our solar system into our mortgage so now we are electric bill free forever. Thank you so much Prime Energy Solar. They will always have my reference. read more

Prime Energy Solar is a great company. Shawn started out in roofing before he got into the solar business. His roofing company is great with roofs. They are IKO certified. That is the toughest certification out there. It is a solid roof job and they really go over and beyond to ensure it lasts 50 years as the warranty states. Also the solar system is great and produces as they say. The solar installation does not void the 50 year warranty for the roof like with other companies. The solar system is also of great quality and comes with the best warranty in the business. read more

I had a great experience with converting to solar. My aunt referred Prime Energy after she got her 18kw solar system installed. They were very respectful and informative and saved us so much money. They were very clear on how much we'd be paying converting with solar including the free months they paid for as an incentive. So many perks to going solar with this company. They even gave me free LED lights for my whole house! I highly recommend going solar with this company, they even have a referral program. Everyone I know who owns a house is getting referred $$$ read more

What can I say? The service I received was impeccable!! Not only did Prime Energy Solar cut my utility bill in half, I also received a new roof with no money down and my color of choice. I worked very closely with their Representative Jaime who kept in touch often, answered all my questions, and kept me updated. The installation crew did an amazing job and can I say the aesthetics look beautiful. read more

I recently bought a house that needed AC and solar. Prime was there to take care of us. The process was streamlined, and the rep was very cool and knowledgeable. At first, I thought what they were proposing was too good to be true, but after seeing everything broken down and now done before my eyes, I can comfortably say that I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I appreciate the ease of going solar they provided to me. At first i thought i was going to have to jump through hoops and phone calls to make things happen. Luckily, Joe my rep walked me through what would happen during each step and that they would take care of all that. I'm definitely coming back when I eventually need my new AC system down the line. read more

Thankfully, storms are not too common here. But after the last one, I noticed my roof was coming apart. I found prime when I was looking for roofing companies. The rep that came over was super nice and brought up solar. I never looked into it but he educated me on everything. David was the reps name and he worked with me though my busy schedule. read more

Very kind while over the phone, showed up wearing mask which is good during this pandemic. Mike and CJ showed up and were so nice and they explained everything up to the last detail, they took the time after signing the contracts to make sure that everything was done correctly and was installed properly all on a timely basis. read more

I was referred to Prime Energy by a friend of mine who also went with them. From the Rep, to the installers, everyone was fantastic. I would highly recommend them for solar, and roofing. They were able to install a new roof, without the use of sub contractors. Fantastic local company! read more

Technically competent and attentive to customers remarks. Prime Energy Solar installed and fine tuned my system always notifying me about the progress of my project. I definitely recommend this company to whomever is considering going solar. Roberto Comelli. read more

Good company to work with. Seamless process, however it took forever to complete because the grid delayed the entire process. Roof and solar look absolutely amazing. Id recommend this company to anyone. read more
