We were staying in Nocona, which is about 10 miles away, and decided to give this place a try. The decor is very nice, and you feel like you are in a Texas Steakhouse. I had the 8 oz bacon-wrapped filet, cooked medium rare, and my wife had the grilled shrimp. The shrimp wasn't described as "spicy," but my wife asked them if they could do it, and they said "sure." My steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. In all honesty, I've had better "prime" cuts of steak, but they were also A LOT more expensive than this steak was. So, overall, it was a great steak for the price. They did a nice job of making my wife's shrimp "spicy," and she enjoyed her meal. We both had a side Caesar salad and baked potato, and they were very good. A gentleman, who we believe was the owner or manager, came over and talked to us for a bit, which was very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will come back again if we are ever in the area.

We were told to go here for good steak! And they were right! I had the petite (poteet) filet medium well. It came perfectly cooked with a piece of bacon wrapped around it. It was served with a cheese biscuit- which looked delish- but since I'm no-carbing - I abstained. The steak was tender and well seasoned. Just what you expect in Texas ranch country. And this fulfilled the promise. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was family friendly with cartoons on the big screen TV. We went back this Fall- all was consistently good. Service is uber friendly. Had The Duke sirloin steak and it was perfectly cooked and plenty large enough for two.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Was a little out of the way from where I was staying but well worth the travel. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good steak.

Absolutely the best steak place in the area. We had the filet and it was excellent. Salad was fresh and crisp. We will definitely be back.

The steaks are the best in North Texas, the appetizers and sides are mostly fried but still tasty, and desserts are worth the splurge.

As…read moresomeone who appreciates attention to detail, I was thoroughly impressed by how pristine the entire establishment is--everything from the dining area to the restrooms is maintained to an incredibly high standard. Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is warm and exceptionally welcoming. The staff is genuinely friendly, and the owners go out of their way to ensure every guest feels truly taken care of. It is rare to find a place that balances such professional upkeep with a personal, "home-away-from-home" feel. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a quality experience. The food is great. The plates are small ( which is fine ) but it would have been nice to have a bit of room to cut up my food , and I'd add a second side to anything that's not a sandwich, but even with just one side ( steaks get two ) you don't leave hungry. ( extra sides are 4 a piece) The only other suggestion is a basket of homemade bread would be perfect for this establishment . It's a southern food , steaks and gravy type place. A basket of bread would make it perfect . Great place though . We would go out of our way to stop again.

I wasn't very hungry but needed some of those bull beans with sour dough bread. My husband ordered a 8oz filet and those yummy loaded mashed potatoes . I seriously should have taken some beans to go for my dad to try. We love the atmosphere and smiling faces. They were busy and rightfully so! Next time, I plan on trying those fried pork chops!!

The staff is always friendly and professional, and the food arrives in a timely manner. This time I ordered the prime rib, which was a huge portion that would probably make at least two meals. If not, three it comes with salad and a side rolls and they're delicious crouton basket, which are out of this world and that was only $51. The prime rib was very tasty as was the potato casserole I ordered as a side did I mention how great the croutons were? They are amazing. Definitely would recommend fireside for your dining. They were out of prime rib, so I ordered a regular rib eye, medium rare with a baked potato. The rib eye was about half the size when sliced to put on the grill and arrived rare. Not only rare, but gristle all around and the baked potato was absolutely cold... so cold, the butter wouldn't melt, and appeared as if it wasn't completely cooked. Took both the steak and potato back and the potato was slightly warmer but the steak was hardly edible due to the gristle and toughness. We fed the adorable dogs that live out there with the steak and potatoes. I hope changes happen to remedy these issues or I feel that the restaurant will close soon.

This is not a comment on rural salt of the earth people, but sophistication was was not in abundance here. The entrance had two sets of doors. Posted on the second door was a hand made sign advertising a flooring business. Maybe it was from family or a friend, but not expected. Walking in we seated ourselves. Atmosphere was calm and people seemed to be enjoying their dinner. My wife and I ordered steak and shrimp. We then went to the salad bar. It had iceberg lettuce and lots of standard fixxens. They also had corn muffins which I helped myself to several. The lettuce was fresh. The other side items were plentiful. The cornbread initially was sweet, but it had a mildly unpleasant almost chemical aftertaste. I would like to recommend using Martha White in the future. I ordered a steak cooked medium. I prefer medium rare, but my experience is my steak is either over cooked or under cooked. At medium, it can go either way and I can still enjoy it. My steak arrived medium well on one side and well done on the other. The mashed potatoes were good. I got 4 frozen fried shrimp. I did not expect fresh shrimp in the middle of the country, but the extra price for 4 shrimp was not worth it. It would have been nicer if the amount of potatoes was larger. They're cheap relatively to the prices being charged. My wife ordered hers to be medium rare and it was rare to medium rare. She had veggies that were average. Things I noticed. When we entered, I saw a server putting rolls in a to-go container with her bare hands. When they bus tables, instead of bringing out a tub, the roll out a dirty cart through the dining room. The prices are to much for what we received. The ticket was left with us when the food was delivered, where we had to take it to the cashier when leaving. They charge and additional 4% for plastic payments. Over all, it was pricey, hokey, and over rated.
