Visiting Cincinnati for a friend's birthday, our friends had made dinner reservations for us at Primavista! They had raved about the food as well as the view and I can say that neither disappointed! Parking is not an issue- there is a lot right across from the restaurant as well as valet parking for $4. Primavista's ambiance is very romantic and would be a great date night spot! We were seated in the main dining area where there is a glass wall so that patrons can enjoy an amazing view of the Cincinnati skyline while dining. We had great service at dinner and our waitress checked in on us often and a host came around frequently to refill our waters. When our waitress let us know about that day's specials, I asked about their vegan-friendly options, and she brought me a separate menu that featured vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered the side of balsamic glazed brussels sprouts and a side of pasta with spicy diavolo sauce. The portion of sides was pretty generous and I had more than enough food. Everything was delicious as well! Our waitress brought by a small sundae scoop of neopolitan ice cream for our friend's birthday with a candle- the presentation was so cute! We really enjoyed our dinner at Primavista and I would definitely return for a special occasion dinner! What really sets Primavista apart is the spectacular view. 5 stars! read more

It's surprising that even though I lived half a mile away from this gorgeous restaurant for a couple of decades, I'd never eaten there . . . until tonight. Reservations are a must, and I'm glad I was able to get a table for two a few weeks ago before a show across the street at the Federal Warsaw Incline Theatre. We were seated quickly and provided water right away. Our server stopped by, took drink orders, and introduced herself. She was masked but briefly showed us her whole face so that we could connect with her, and I appreciated her commitment to safety while recognizing how vital that humanity is when serving at a place like this. She reviewed the specials, brought us bread and garlic spread (not butter, more like a mousse, I guess?), and returned promptly to take our orders. I had the Caesar Salad, and my friend had the House Salad. Nothing mind-blowing, but I don't want my salad to be so good that it spoils dinner. I had the spaghetti with meatballs (once I confirmed that the marinara was smooth and not chunky - otherwise, I think I'd have tried the Chicken dish), and my friend had the ravioli. We both were super impressed with the food quality and the portion size. I also managed not to get any sauce on my shirt, which is a bonafide miracle. We also had dessert; we split the brownie and the bread pudding. I'll get the brownie again when I go back. Nothing against the bread pudding; I just liked the brownie more. Of course, one of the primary reasons to eat here is the view, and we were seated at the window. However, there are no bad seats due to the way the dining room is laid out. I felt the price was fair for the experience, and the service - from the host's greeting to the wait staff and the manager who circled around to ensure we were enjoying ourselves - was excellent. I never do this but I am very disappointed at this place right now and probably writing this review out of being so annoyed. We did a Reservation several weeks ago and we got a call saying there is an issue with the table. They said it was gonna be fixed. They mentioned and the worst case scenario we were going to have to be seated on the table where we have to keep our son on our laps which we agreed to it. When we got there, they had the same issue with the situation and tried to look for a table and that were open, finally after a few minutes we got a table, which was pretty nice we did have an amazing view. We order some drinks and a salad which we got it right away, but the entrees never came. We waited for an hour and almost 45 minutes for it, we even asked somebody to please tell us how long is it going be for our food which she lied and said, he was going to be plated already and we were assuming we was gonna be a few minutes but it went almost 15 minutes and never came. We obviously know our waited knew what was going on since a table ahead of us got their food already, and she never checked back with us. We were so excited to try the food because it's very well rated Italian restaurant however they did ruin our special date for the lack of communication because if they would've came to us and let us know then the kitchen was backed up and they couldn't deliver our order. We would have gladly would've left and come back another day without being there for almost 2 hours, and no food in our bellies or our son's belly. So we did what we needed to do and we are on our way to the precinct which never fails. read more

The whole experience was 5/5 stars! They offer valet parking, but there's a ton of available spaces around if you prefer to park yourself. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but we sat at the restaurant bar and the hostess came over found us when they had our table ready. The view was incredible -- that entire wall is floor to ceiling windows, so you'll get a view no matter where you're seated. The staff is very friendly, relaxed, and attentive (I swear my water glass wouldn't get below half way full at any point!). The food came out surprisingly quick. Very much the view that makes this place. We've been a few times and this latest time was a great time by all. The staff was extremely friendly, good at what they do and our waitress was fun, so it made the evening really great overall. The only thing I'd say is that compared to other Italian spots in town it's 'good,' but I'd go to other spots for the food. Started with some bruschetta (the best of the bunch) as well as some calamari, pizza and a burrata that were all okay. The veal saltimbocca I got at the waitress' recommendation was definitely good and was big enough for another meal after. There was some pasta formaggio on the side as well, it was whatever, but the main I got more than made up for it. Decent wine list overall, too. read more

The pasta was delicious and was such a great portion. Typically at fancy places, the portions are tiny but I was able to have leftovers. The view is also beautiful of the city. Our waitress was amazing and did a great job at giving us recommendations while also ensuring we were doing great. To put the cherry on top, the bill wasn't too expensive. My table split the appetizers, two bottles of wine and I got the spaghetti and it didn't break my wallet. Definitely plan on coming back! read more

More about that in a minute... First, that view! Oh my goodness, that's why people want to come here, right! The view is absolutely amazing. The entirety of the downtown & OTR areas of Cincinnati, the bridges, the river, the northern shores of Kentucky. Absolutely stunning, day or night. The ambience of the place is absolutely beautiful. Old-world, classy, elegant, lovely setting, very nicely maintained. Also, CLEAN! The place is spotless, including the beautiful bathrooms! The food: Most of it was absolutely amazing. And much of the food going to to other tables looked so good. Incredibly, all that seafood going out and no fishy odors. That is an incredible feat in Ohio! So, good job to the management for keeping their standards high & only serving fresh seafood! I am tempted to break my "no seafood in Ohio" rule & try some during my next visit. The filets were some of the best steaks we have ever eaten. This is my top recommendation. The polenta cakes were a nice change of pace, and prepared well, with a nice crispy exterior and creamy interior. The green beans were also perfectly prepared and tasted fresh rather than frozen. The desserts were all fabulous; there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. The house specialty is bread pudding & it was absolutely worth the extra money & calories! The drinks: We had some really great cocktails and wines by the glass. The wine list is very good and there are a lot of great top shelf liquors available. The service: Servers were impeccable. Ours was knowledgeable, professional, efficient & friendly. We had just the right level of attentiveness. Water glasses were filled regularly. The hosting staff was also friendly and professional. The place was packed but none of the staff seemed stressed. The place runs like a well-oiled machine. Room for improvement: A few of us got some of the veal dishes & found the veal somewhat tough, and the meat itself was flavorless as if it wasn't seasoned at all before cooking. The sauces that topped the veal were delicious, though. These were the only entrees out of many that disappointed. They weren't inedible, just less delicious than other options. The night we visited (a weekend) the place was very busy and there were several large groups who were quite loud. The noise levels were higher than one would expect in such a nice restaurant. Overall, this restaurant gets very high marks from our group. It is obvious they try very hard to get things right, and they gave us a wonderful evening out with friends. Decided to try out Primavista for our 29th wedding anniversary. We made a reservation and asked for a table at the window. Lucky for us, they were able to accommodate. If coming as a couple, they have seats for two that have you sit side by side vs across a table - not my favorite. All of the seats are terraced to make sure everyone has a view of Cincinnati. We ordered the bruschetta and a garden salad to start. I had the veal saltimboca and my wife chose the shrimp and gnocchi for entrees. Everything was well prepared and presented. They also served bread at the table with olive oil and roasted garlic spread. We finished off with the brownie and gelato. They gave us a complimentary scoop of spumoni for our anniversary. The salted caramel in the complimentary dessert was the best part . The service was very good keeping our water glasses filled. They did not ask for refills on wine or coffee though... We've been coming to Primavista for 3 years. We go for our anniversary dinner. Last night we had some of the BEST service I've ever experienced. The hostess were communicative about our small wait since there was still a group at the table we specifically requested. While we waited we had a drink at the bar with the very friendly bartender. She informed us that we could get drinks AND an appetizer at the bar while we waited. Which was wonderful since we were getting antsy about the wait. When we got to our table our server, Josh, was fantastic! He already knew it was our anniversary and went above and beyond with us. All of our food came out hot, delicious and exactly the way we ordered in a timely manner. I highly recommend the gnocchi with rock shrimp and roasted tomatoes app. I don't know what they do to the tomatoes but they are mouth watering-ly good. Had wanted to try this place for some time, and was finally able to talk the wife into it. We braved the remnants of Hurricane Harvey and crossed the river..... First, some basics. Get a reservation, this place is busy. There is parking across the street, and there is a valet. Second - the view. This is a really cool vantage point to see downtown Cincinnati. We went early in the evening, but at night, this would be amazing. Third - the food. Oh my, where do I start? We tried the fried veal meatballs for an appetizer - it came with pieces of mozzarella, and was delicious. The bread was fresh, and served with an olive oil and garlic purée. We each had a salad. Mine was Caesar, my wife did a mixed greens with goat cheese and fried calamari. They did not skimp on the calamari. My daughter had the arugula salad with mint balsamic. She really liked the dressing. For our mains, I tried their veal scallopini which was served with mushrooms and arugula in a ndjun sauce. Excellent! They are known for their veal, and this did not disappoint. My daughter had the lamb, which said said was "very good." My wife had the grilled chicken with Gorgonzola. I tried a bite, it was excellent, so full of flavor! We finished off our evening with dessert. My daughter and I had the tiramisu, and my wife tried the creme brûlée. I judge Italian restaurants on the quality of their tiramisu, and this was great, hence the 5 stars. It was a great evening, no complaints, and we will return! read more

First time to try for anniversary and the whole experience was excellent! Our server Elle was very friendly and very attentive. The supporting staff came around frequently to refill water or anything else we needed. The first thing was the incredible view of downtown Cincinnati from almost any table. This alone was worth the visit. The interior design is old world elegance. The calamari was light with a great sauce, the arugula salad was incredibly delicious and garlic florets were served instead of butter with fresh olive oil for our bread - different and very tasty. Salmon and veal plates were just as good with great sauces. Had no room for dessert but Elle brought us a complimentary dessert that we shared - also great. You will need to make a reservation, and be sure to get a table with a view. The restaurant has been laid out so that most, but not all, have a great view. The menu is fairly stable, a few veal dishes, ravioli with sausage, a fillet, and always some specials.....the salmon was outstanding, as was the veal saltimbocca and the ravioli with sausage. Because of a thunderstorm and an impromptu decision to get dinner in Cincy, we ended up at Primavista. And I'm happy that serendipity led us here. It was just after Christmas, and we had spent the day with fam. Rain was pouring down, and we tried to get a table at a restaurant nearby. They were full, so to minimize our time in the rain, we opted to run across parking lots to get to Primavista, which is at the top of a condo or apartment building, I believe. It looks humble from the outside of the building -- or at least it did in the rain -- but this Italian restaurant is on the high-end side. And it boasts one of the best views of Cincinnati that I've seen. A fave part of the night was watching the storm roll in from this fantastic view at the top of Price Hill. Over the course of a couple of minutes, our view went from twinkly lights of the city to a black cloud, barring our view even a dozen feet out of the windows. The seating is set up theater style, with the view as the main attraction, and the storm was some of the best entertainment we could have had. But enough of the view -- onto the food! The most memorable part of my meal was the veal saltimboca. This came with prosciutto, fontina, sage and veal glaze with polenta and green beans. It was rich with the cheese, and the glaze was salty and full of flavor. The breading on the veal wasn't mushy, had it's own flavor and didn't separate from the meat when it came in contact with the cheese and sauce. I tried bites of some of the other entrees, and this remains my favorite. We also had the mussels and calamari as appetizers -- both solid choices. Primavista boasts an impressive wine list. And top marks go to the service. When our party of 10 burst in, wet and looking for seats without a reservation, the host and waitress made it work by sitting us at three table by each other. Primavista seems like a restaurant from another era. It felt very "Mad Men" to me -- like a place my grandfather would have brought my grandmother on a date. But the food isn't stuck in the past. It's timeless and delicious. I hope I sometime get to go back. read more

Wish I could rate more than 5 stars. Booked this dinner for our 5 year anniversary and I couldn't have chosen a better place. Got there early and had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. They gave us a choice of seating, one by the window or one up higher in a booth overlooking the restaurant (definitely recommend the latter). Host and server were amazing, gave great recommendations for food and wine that paired well. Bread had some sort of garlic spread that was to die for. View is also the best I've seen in Cincy. Parking was a little tricky but probably because it was Prom night for high schoolers lol. read more

Calamari was warm when it came out. Bruschetta didn't meet my expectations. There was a description of goat cheese and honey. I assumed it also came with the traditional tomato mixture but it didn't. Thick bread with goat cheese and honey. Caesar salad croutons were really good. Mojitos needed a bit more simple syrup, mango drink was good. Food was ok. Mahi wasn't seasoned well and just wasn't a good dish in my opinion. For $46 I shouldn't have to add salt and pepper. My daughter's filet was tender and cooked to temp. read more
